I wouldn't count Jasper(or Bismuth or the Rubys) out of the plot just yet. Connie's problem was olved by her apologizing to the kid she hurt directly, which would imply that the next step is for Steven to make an effort to resolve shit with the three of them directly, so he can get over the guilt.
At this point I'll be shocked if Jasper isn't unbubbled by the end of the season.
