I'm serious dude, the animation sequence for it was absolutely breathtaking. I honestly can't think of anything else in the past 10 years that's been this stylistically impressive, animation wise.
Here Comes a Thought was the greatest piece of animation in the last decade
>Taking all the emotional moments from various animes and Frankensteining them into 11 minutes makes a masterpiece apparently
Now I know why people fucking hate Tarantino.
So you've seen every significant piece of animation from the last decade?
It was good for SU but it wasn't that great
You probably need to watch more things then Steven universe user
I like Steven Universe and I know this is bait but it honestly triggered me, good job user.
Where were you when Trigger saved cartoons?
You are wrong.
...
this
I skipped it
am I the only one that wasn't wowed by it? I mean its better than the majority of the shows animation but...
It was better than normal in that the movements were more interesting but it was choppy at a lot of places. Also I only liked Stevonnie's singing voice and Garnet/estelle sounded weirdly bad.
...
ditto
On the contrary, it was great for SU - but it still wasn't good.
>A stupid song instead of giving Connie screentime to grow as a character
Yeah, but can we PLEASE talk about Steven's Knife?!
I liked the concept so much that I barely even cared about the show's animation. A terrible thing to say on Sup Forums of all places, but there ya go.
Peridot is the only good thing to come out of liberal hippy crap.
Not to mention the fucking stupid idea that because Connie judo'd some nerd she is the best source of empathy for Steven, who is actually suffering from some Tomino-level children PTSD.
>breathtaking
It was a fucking powerpoint slideshow. And the song was shit, too. When the fuck is Garnet going to be given a song that she can actually sing?
Fuck you, OP. You baited me into thinking that the episode would actually have decent animation, but it's a good thing I have a low expectation ceiling for this show
Complete waste of an episode.
The episode almost made me cry. That part with rose was so fucking depressing.
SHUTUP MEME MAGIC IS REAL
Why do people suddenly hate trigger now? Didn't you like Kill la kill?
Steven's life is seriously fucked up. Connie is like Hermione, but sword fighting.
But connie's problems never last
>Connie:"I broke some random kids arm but somehow didn't get in trouble at all. I'm so miserable!"
>Steve:"Turns out my mom killed someone and over the last week I've poofed two Gems, one of whom I couldn't save from Corruption, and sent like five other Gems floating through space with no chance of being saved.
Yeah seriously what the fuck? How is Connie allowed to just head over to Stevens after breaking another kids arm?
Did no one see Kubo?!
That was probably the only good part of the episode. Connie is shit. She has no real problems. Steven has real problems
Don't say that around Sup Forums, user. I like Trigger, but the animation in this episode wasn't impressive
Here comes the pain!
>Didn't you like Kill la kill?
No. Just like I used to like TTGL back in the day, but now cannot watch it anymore without shaking my head at the shallow stupidity of everything in it. KLK likewise is too childish; not even good childish, but stupid childish.
Why do people think making the whole cast loud, obnoxious manchildren is a good idea?
Wow who bit your tits off? Do you even anime?
Of course it's childish and silly. It's a cartoon, it's a goofy cartoon about schoolgirls in stripper-armor fighting clothing and battling with scissors, if you take it too seriously yeah it's dumb but that's the point.
If you cannot watch and enjoy something as absurd as Kill la Kill because it's too "childish" then maybe you've just grown up a bit too far up yours? Take a moment to think it over.
They're really laying the lessons on a bit thick recently
You're right, user. I, too, enjoy mature cartoons and japanese animes with high brow humor, mature characters, and serious stakes!
I was so pissed because the whole time Connie was moping I thought it might be that she was upset over him having fused with Amethyst and they were going to have a relationship talk and get into some deeper shit than "I got triggered by some faggot in the hallway and broke his arm".
>Give an animation studio a chance to shine by guest animating a western cartoon and impress audiences
>They literally just use the the same show's style and imitate it, rather than making the segment in their own style and adding anything to it
Why would you do this? The animations a little smoother but it's barely even noticeable. It's like taking a master chef and forcing them to work a shitty hotdog stand to work the slop just slightly better.
It could have been great if Garnet didn't sound so strained and weird jesus.
why does SU get it's own containment board?
SHOW ME WHAT YOU GOT
That would have been interesting but Connies 12. Thats a Talk they would have if they did a time skip
>yfw a fucking trigger animator blows all of SU out of the water
God was it choppy and the art was amateurish. It was crap. It would've been better with the actual animators doing it.
Which scenes did they reference?
Man, SU's usual animation must be so bland for that to be great.
I love SU but I can't tell if you're serious. Successful trolling in that case.
Go back to your general little guys, shoo shoo
Studio 4°C has done even better than this though.
I disagree but what do you have in mind?
...
They should have focused on animating the holo pearl fight scenes. Now gumball still remains at the top with the best animated fight scene until samurai jack starts airing.
Shut the fuck up you Sup Forums tier conservarat
All of their music video clips? Just type in studio 4C in youtube and pick one.
You came here just to start shit and without reading this thread I know it's happening, but it was a very cool moment. It's a shame the song that accompanied it was so bad because that coulda been a god tier moment. Instead I just cringed the moment "IT'S OKAY IT'S OKAY IT'S OKAY IT'S OKAY IT'S OKAY IT'S OKAY IT'S OKAY IT'S OKAY IT'S OKAY" worked its way into the lyrics.
As someone who really hates lyric repetition, it really grew on me as the song went on. Not so much at the beginning though
How underage are you? This song was shit as well.
How edgy manchild are you? Not everything in this world is shitty.
Spirited Away was the one I noticed.
Oh and Cowboy Bebop I guess.
I am sorry but the song was just terrible and a waste of good animation also Steven is a mega pussy.
I was ok with the song until the repetition. It wasn't just that it was repetitive, but that it didn't work with the song at all. It comes out of no where and feels like it has no place in the lyrics.
How come the animation felt so stiff-y during this song sequence? Was it animated by another studio?
>Ruby and Sapphire
>Together for thousands of years
>Still have issues
Jesus christ, also someone explain what the fuck happened in this episode. So Stevonnie can enter minds and shit now what other powers is Sucrose gonna asspull on Steven?
Pretty much this, I don't know if Op is baiting or hasn't seen that much good animation.
FEEL FREE TO STOP ANY TIME
Do shitposters ever get tired of baiting each other in circles with the same material in perpetuity? I feel like I'm watching the same tango for the millionth time and I don't get how people haven't gotten bored and moved on yet, it's just attention-whoring at this point.
I've seen most of them but I personally think Wanwa the Doggy is the greatest piece of animation made in the last 10 years.
Stiff is the wrong word. That's something you say about lack of camera angles and characters refusing to bend, Family Guy animation in other words.
I think you're referring to to change in framerate. Not sure if that was stylistic for the swap to music video or just a limit from how much they were doing. Probably little of each. To do all that, they cut the framerate down, but at the calmer moments they had to keep the frame rate down or it woulda just looked jarring.
If someone changed their namefield to "this is bait" in all caps you retards would still fall for it.
Big tears copyright Ghibli, glowing butterflies copyright Bones.
People on this site see punching and think it's a jojo reference
You're retarded if you expected that.
I kind of like how Connie's problem is like, a normal middle schooler kind of problem. I kind of daw'ed when she said what happened. If I were her age I'd be sick to my stomach that I might have made someone hate me for no reason. Or maybe I'd get a bad reputation at school, have to talk with my parents, etc. There's lots for a kid to worry about before someone tells her you can just explain you're in judo or whatever.
>wow, Trigger on more than a shoestring budget looks good
Is anyone surprised by this?
you know what they say taking from one source is copying, taking from multiple sources is originality. I had a pic that explained it better with using comics but I can't find it
>When the fuck is Garnet going to be given a song that she can actually sing?
what did he mean by this?
There's a book about it called Steal like an artist, very interesting.
>double trips
>complaining, instead of posting scenes of videos of what could be considered superior
>calling them stupid instead of using this chance to better understand the personal differences in opinion, and to see their reasoning
never change Sup Forums
best is subjective, but i liked it myself
Literally anything is better. Here:
youtube.com
I still don't know why people are talking about Trigger in a SU thread.
not everything, the animation for this one is pretty bad, regardless of opinion on the show itself
youtube.com
Connie is basically a Mary Sue now
Any chance of having a character with depth is out the window.
The point is no American TV animation in the last 30 years is anywhere near artistically relevant enough to be a contender for best piece of animation at any point in time.
why cant it be the best?
The latest episode had a guest animator from trigger.
Because the 2D commercial American animation industry has become stale. TV works are lifeless flash toons and features are exclusively CG. You don't watch enough independent work where at its best, animation is at the height of its creativity.
so flash and CG are mediums that cant produce good works?
It's a vicious cycle at this point.
I'm not talking about CG, I'm saying 2D American feature films are practically dead. I find it hard to believe you can claim artistry to lifeless works where the animation is not even produced domestically, but in Korean sweatshops.
It was one of the best sequences in SU, but you're clearly baiting/false flagging.
So was SU literally the first cartoon you've watched in your life or something?
You're out of your damn mind.
Why can't sucrose come up with anything original?
Even the barnies had this scene before us
Too bad the song was fucking terrible
>Just like I used to like TTGL back in the day, but now cannot watch it anymore without shaking my head at the shallow stupidity of everything in it.
So basically you grew up to be a cynical asshole.
Don't worry, you'll grow out of that too, some day.
TTGL is very intelligent you superficial twat.
>that it didn't work with the song at all.
>A song about calming yourself through intrusive thoughts
>The repetition is basically a mantra
>They're even sitting like they're doing some yoga tai chi chow mein meditation shit
>"doesn't fit"
Come on man.
