Have you guys accepted that Gwenpool looks terrible unless Gurihiru is drawing her?

Have you guys accepted that Gwenpool looks terrible unless Gurihiru is drawing her?

I don't see anything terrible about that though

Your observation is correct but Deodato is a bad example because he's a terrible artist.

I think the issue is that it's just a poor design since Gurihuru is magicians, it looks somewhat passable.

Why is she in pink
Why isn't she in a full suit
Why is she wearing lipstick
How light is that fucking gun

I don't really know why but she always looks creepy to me when drawn more realistic instead of the cute gurihuru way. Maybe it is the mouth hole in the mask.

Those boots don't bother you in the slightest?

I don't think she looks attractive when drawn by other artists. She's not my favorite design when drawn by other artists. But I don't think she looks terrible.

She looks terrible with the mask on period.
It's why 90% of the cute pictures people post of her are maskless.

she looks like a ghost

Strychalski did fine, I thought.

I think that's the point. Or at least, it's something that hasn't gone unnoticed by Hastings and it contributes to why she freaks civilians out, since she's really kind of a creepo.

I think she can look fine drawn by non-Gurihuru artists. I actually preferred Beyruth's messier style on the book, but w/e, different strokes.

NO PANTS. BIG BOOTS.

The boots look terrible. It's the same reason the Major's design in the first season of SAC was an utter eyesore. She needs pants -not because she's over sexualized, but because her outfit looks awful without them.

They're not boots. They're shin-guards.

>short sleeves
This shit isn't even on model. The problem isn't Gwenpool's design, it's Deodatto.

Hastings is literally the best writer on Marvel right now

Have you accepted that the art is the ONLY reason you read it and in all other aspects it's shit?

BOOTS

Its a comic
Its a comic
Its a comic
Its a comic

I love Ronnie and hope she continues to be a supportign character in Gwenpool for a long time.

Also, why is the frontal crotch area wider than the back. I'm pretty sure that's not how it's supposed to work.

But user, I like it for the writing, too. It was good when Beyruth was on, and still good with the current fill-in. I didn't particularly like either of them all that much, but still liked the comic.

In fact, I've liked every comic of Hastings that I've read.

>i like the writing
Deus ex machina is not good writing, user. And even without it the main character is just a mess.

I completely agree.

I want to see how horrifying she'd look drawn by Alex Ross

I'm disappointed whenever I see mask on porn of her

Gurihiru is best for sure, but the most recent issue wasn't too bad

Christopher "Dr. McNinja" Hastings is great you homo

There were some really fucking off faces, but good ones as well. Could have done a lot worse.

recent issue she looked too much like a fish too me

I feel bad for any character who gets picked to be in these big lineup promo artwork, because they'll inevitably look weird when drawn by a lazy house artist.

>why is the frontal crotch area wider than the back

Some of it was REALLY bad tho

Seriously, this is terrifying.

More fabric to hold her massive boner when full torque

I love Gwen, but why the shin guards?

why ever shin Gaurds?

To protect the shins or to play soccer in.

BIG

Because Ronnie wanted to get rid of shit that no self respecting c lister would be caught dead in.

Theyre supposed to be MegaMan sized boots, but Deodato is a hack.

Seriously, this entire thread would be undermined if someone pointed out that NOBODY looks good when Deodato draws them.

Have you tried to kick something with your shin?

>Theyre supposed to be MegaMan sized boots, but Deodato is a hack

Sorry user, but no matter what the dialogue says, they've been shin guards over a pair of sneakers since day 0

even in the gurihiru art, sometimes they dont draw/color the back white half and leave her calves exposed

Dumb question: Will Gwen's 4th-wall knowledge be updated with every upcoming revelation in the comics, like with Deadpool's intro pages, or is she stuck with the dated info she had when she showed up?
Because the whole 4th-wall thing is a unique and surprisingly useful powerset, but not if it can become outdated.

If she lasts long enough for that to become relevant it will probably be a sliding timescale thing of her being a new transplant in universe for her entire existence

They've actually brought that up in interviews as a question they'll explore eventually. Another question is exactly WHAT did she read? We know shes read the popular new characters, but would she have knowledge of classic horror monsters, like if Blade showed up?

I'm doubting Gwen will last long enough to that point of needing to worry.

Though how much she knows is questionable since her original world was shown to have showing Dr. Strange movie in a theater.

How taboo is lesbianism for most middle-eastern Islamics?

>Your observation is correct but Deodato is a bad example because he's a terrible artist.

Deodato is actually pretty good. but he's a reflection of whatever is popular in the industry and just churns that out. When he started he had a pretty good illustrator-y style, but since it was the 90's and the Image style was huge, he began imitating that. When the Bryan Hitch "realistic" style became popular, he did that. When the Poser style became huge, he did that.

I'm going to guess very, but not every nation in the middle east is under Islamic sharia law, so I got nothing really.

That would be F'ing awesome if only for her 4th-wall awareness running commentary on that shit.
I've never put any faith in interviews, they are nothing but spoilers that on occasion don't pan out. Ignore them, I say!
She will outlast at least one or two other flash-in-the-pan series, she's fun! That alone can save a book that otherwise isn't worth picking up for another year.

yes.

You're forgetting that above being Muslim, she's also a fanfiction writing fangirl. She's probably a shipper.

they keep giving her the body of a very fit 50-yr old woman.

That's a great shocked face. I don't see how you could think it's bad.

>a face that's not properly centered or aligned with the head, is good
>an angle that implies her head is overly round, is good
You must be deformed yourself to think it's good.

Depends upon the individual, most are cool with anyone not living in the religion deciding for themselves how to live their life, they kinda have to be when living in a multicultural society.
I've known devout Catholics who have the same religious taboo and they accept that the rules they live by are not reasons to be jerks, after all the religions themselves have rules about not being a jerk.
But then again, some people are just born jerks and make everything a problem for everyone.

I want to meet the 50 year olds where you live.

If this artist got their shit together and kept putting out stuff like then I'd be fine with them taking over after Gurihiru eventually leaves.

She's a canon shipper, they've already put her fantasies into the comics as "dream sequences".

You misspelled meat.

why isnt her face all fucked up like deadpools?

she isn't "female deadpool". she doesn't even have a wolverine healing power. She just has plot armor and Kurt Vonneguet-esque 4th-wall breaking powers.

ignore that post if you see it again, some user posts it in literally every gwenpool thread

>She just has plot armor
there is a difference between plot armor and deus ex. But yeah, both are shit writing.

>this characters major defining trait is abusing deus ex machina as a meta commentary on comic tropes

>this is shit writing somehow
fuck off.

Even without new information, she's got a lot of power so long as she uses it carefully.

She knows about pretty much every currently existing superhero/villain, including thing they themselves may not know - think about it, if she'd come a few months later she'd know about HydraCap

But that would ruin the cute, user.

I wonder if Gwenpool lasts long enough, they'll have an arc that connects her, however tenuously, to the 'real' world so she can get updated comic books/visit her family that she apparently has issues with.

Probably. Personally I wouldn't prefer that.

I'd rather her have some development by the value of her knowledge slowly fading over time.

...

You know that the first volume has to end with her being sent back to her universe, and then if she gets picked up for a 2nd, she'll be grabbed back into Marvel.

>Literally posts an image with equally fucked anatomy
What is cartooning mate

Or she could die

Or she could be like every other comic book character and have a neverending story.

That's not how it works. Comics don't have seasons and wait to be renewed like a tv show. It'll keep going until they decide it won't, then they have two or three issues to wrap it up.

And then she'll show up in the background of the Next Big Crisis Event that will Change Everything Forever, complaining about being a bit character before a fridge gets dropped on her.

just because the writer aknowledges it is using deus ex, it doesn't mean it is good writing. It's an excuse for being lazy, as "anything can happen, lol so random XDD"

thats not what happens in the book at all though.

No, the Stacey Lee covers have been great. I'm also fond of Helen Chen's take on her for the #7 cover.

Honestly, I even like Strychalski's work on her in #5 (and supposedly #6, but the Marvel site is not listing GuriHiru?). Sure, it's nowhere near as polished as GuriHiru's style is, but she's still crazy and cute.

>not listing
*now listing

>i haven't read the comic
Do you even know anything about Christopher Hastings? He's been writing stories like this for over 10 years and he's anything but lazy about it.

"oh look, i just happen to hate being a cop, so you guys can go even tough you just murdered 3 people"

yeah, it's shit.

>He's been writing stories like this for over 10 years
that makes it worst

>Why is she in pink
Because her tailor saw she had pink hair and decided that it was her favorite color
>Why isn't she in a full suit
Ran out of cloth. She keeps asking for an update on when more will come in, but that color of pink isn't in very high demand.
>Why is she wearing lipstick
Cause she's in costume and is trying to look cool.
>How light is that fucking gun
As light as the plot demands. If Ripley can wield one of those things, why not her?

>experience makes it worse
So I take that to mean you haven't read Gwenpool, or any of his other work, or my post for that matter. Honestly, I'm starting to doubt you can even read.

>So I take that to mean you haven't read Gwenpool
i have read every Gwenpool comic until now. On the latest one she meets the black spiderman kid

And yeah, it's shit. Deus ex is NOT good writing, and aknowledging it is just an excuse to use it.

Irene is just fine but this tracer shit is terrible, desu.

>Deodatto
Seriously, his SG is worse than Henderson's

you've read it all and somehow still think its LOL SO RANDUMB XDD!!

You're a fucking idiot.

when did I say it was that

you can't read can you

>still think its LOL SO RANDUMB XDD
that's what it is. She literally forgets how to shoot from the first issue to the third. She murders 3 people without remorse and is surprised when her "friend" is killed, a cop let her get away, and for Whatever reason keeps his skull just in case some random god decides to resurrect him.

It's a random deus ex/reboot of her personality every time. It's lazy.

Well, the help she got from Strange would seem to block off that kind of twist permanently. Or the prospect reconnecting with her family, at least. Then again, nothing is permanent in Marvelverse.

No pls, too cruel. But also funny.

"No."

Guy Gardner vs. Deadpool when?

That's not what happened at all. She didn't have any great feats of marksmanship in early scenes; she shot up a few guys at point-blank range, and that's it.

>and for Whatever reason keeps his skull just in case some random god decides to resurrect him.
She literally says that she kept his skull because she was sad after he died.

>You read the same comic as me
>And yet you don't agree with my opinions!!!

>that innsmouth look

>Have you guys accepted that Gwenpool looks terrible when it's Deodato who's "drawing" her?
Yeah.

>Hastings is literally the best writer on Marvel right now

Jesus fuck I know that Marvel is on the shitter but they are not that bad, they still have Tom King's Vision.

Hackstings is not a good writter honestly, all he does is deux ex machina shit and meme humor

Then there is Gurihuru, two japanese artist that work together in one book while delivering subpar artwork

How sad is that this pic is not about C listers, this is current Marvel...

>She's a canon shipper

Literally what made me drop the book.

>this characters major defining trait is abusing deus ex machina as a meta commentary on comic tropes

As a meta commentary on shit, is just lazy writing user!

This is just another case of virgins reading too much into stuff.

Having a character say ''this is not how things work in comics!!!'' is not a commentary on anything, is just a lame joke

Not the user you were speaking to, but:
>user disagrees with my opinions that I stated as facts reeeeee
That's the real issue here. You've just consistently been incapable of appropriately framing your criticism.

Also, with regard to the specific scene you cited in , that cop stated in his own words that he thought Gwen was trying to do the right thing, and acknowledged he was disgracing himself by what he was doing. He was a crooked cop rationalizing his actions.

None of that requires any analysis of the text. It's plain to read on the page. Likewise for any other instance of "deus ex" (a phrase callously used in this thread) in Gwenpool that you might come up with.

Having an user say ''This is just another case of virgins reading too much into stuff.'' is not a commentary on anything, it's just a lame joke.
