It's going to very interesting I think. I see the potential for either of them to wreck the other. My tentative prediction is who ever focuses on the issues the most will likely win. I think the general electorate isn't in much of a mood to see shit slinging anymore, and have responded negatively to each candidates problems. The moderators will get frustrated and act like dicks if they both just attack each other, so I think the first one to "rise above it" will take it. Probably an unorthodox view, but my prediction.

Trump does need to shift his debate style to more "presidential" and "issues based". This is very very true.
However his debate strength is "stumping" his opponents. If they just talk policy for 2-3 hours and never attack, Hillary will end up looking better. She has been a politician for years.
Instead of turning it into a shitshow of talking loudly over one another like some of the previous debates have been, he just needs to ruthlessly stump her a few times during very selective moments when she exposed herself. Those vicious sound bites will be very important for commercials and advertisement.

Yeah that would work. The best scenario for Trump is that Clinton comes in with a game plan similar to Rubio, where she is over eager in trying prove her strength in anticipation of a combative candidate like Trump, and ends up focusing too much energy and time attacking him. If Trump can avoid getting sucked into it but still choose some careful well placed zingers, she may reap the same results Rubio did.
I think Clinton's best bet is to try to bait Trump into being overzealous and appearing unhinged in the way she paints him, and to allow him to destroy himself. At the same time she doesn't want to appear weak and let him just lay into her, he isn't a typical opponent so she also has to straddle a fine line.
