Why does Sup Forums like Heathcliff so much? Is it because he's a weirder version of Garfield? Surreal? Plotless? So unfunny he's funny? Irony?
He's a fat, lazy, orange cat. You'd expect criticism for being too much like Garfield, but Heathcliff is somehow more successful, in comic and on Sup Forums anyway. He rarely sees the public eye, but there are Sup Forums threads dedicated towards him daily. The most success he's ever seen has been a cartoon to my knowledge.
Garfield is a multi-million cash cow franchise which isn't even written by Jim Davis much anymore. At least, I don't think so. Heathcliff has run for a good while. Are all strips created by the same guy? Does he actually update this often? His work schedule must be obsessive. I wonder if he loses sleep or misses meals just to make a single panel comic of Heathcliff being a fucking cat eating pie. I wonder where he gets the reader submissions? I can't feel it'd be very popular, then again Shylock gets several as well, and I'd expect him to be even more obscure and unknown. He's never had a cartoon (which is a shame honestly).
Heathcliff lacks any sort of story from what I've sen. I don't even know who half of these characters are. I can't even tell if these are the same characters from strip to astrip. The fat lady seems recurring, but there's nothing distinct about the others. Perhaps there's a sort of satire here in that virtually none of the comic is original. It's just a basic newspaper comic. There's nothing about it. Yet I find myself going through strips posted and occasionally chuckling at the inanity of it all.
Does anything reoccur? Is anything ever repeated? The jokes seem to be reused, but I'm not sure.
Why does he get so much screentime on here compared to Marmaduke? What's wrong with Marmaduke (besides the terrible movie)? Oh well, his theme song (shared with Heathcliff) was pretty catchy.I wonder if the strip's creator plays it and goes into a trance as he draws out tomorrows bizarre gag.

Since I grew up with the cartoon that had Riff Raff, Cleo and those three retards, seeing Heathcliff as this eccentric parody of housecats instead of an untamable scrapper who rules the streets is jarring as fuck.
They had him fixed.

>Why does Sup Forums like Heathcliff so much?
You pretty much answered your own question with the rest of the paragraph. It's a really bizarre Garfield that runs on inside jokes and running gags. It's like looking into the mind of a crazy person, it's facinating to watch.
That's one fat fucking kid. I usually don't see kids that fat outside of the south, and even then they're usually mexican.
is this shit supposed to be anti humour? It reminds me of that terrible Minecraft joke book that gets posted on Sup Forums occasionally.
I'm going to bump this just because someone put so much effort into it.
This one actually made me laugh because there's a joke there.. somewhat.
