It's sitting in the Fresh Kills Landfill along with much of the most badly damaged steel. But it's being turned into a park. As such, they have to sanitary seal it -- which is pricing quite a challenge. So the dust will be preserved for future generations to study.

The larger portions, sure. They're big buildings. But the melty bits you care about are too small and damaged to be efficiently recycled. And NIST wanted it at aside. So it's at Fresh Kills.

i would wager to say that the metal that would show signs of thermite damage would not be there and what was sold to china before investigation
