Unsounded

...metal as fuck?

No new page on Monday.

I think Duane's angry.

Sure, Elka gets to fuck up everything she tries and it's okay but Ana gets no slack

What is the zombie equivalent of a chimp out?

Please, Iori can save them right?
Right?

Duane's got the right idea. When magic don't work, smack a motherfucker with a stick.

Can someone explain whats going on in the second page?

They pulled a Thelma and Louise off a waterfall while riding a giant dog.

nope he got punched in he back of the head dislocating his jaw some how and now it's flapping around all over the place.

Damn, Elka looking extra cute in the 4th panel

Jesus Christ
can he replace that?

And you don't think that pissed him off a little. He's going to have to repair that later!

I do believe that this is the spookiest that Duane has ever looked.

I'm sure he'll just take Rahm's once he's done beating him to death.

>duane going full ooga booga with a piece of railing

I wonder if Ashley was giggling when drawing that Duane

Probably.

>Home, then.
If that ain't the start of a porn scene...

Several parts of Duane are haunted, just random parts.

Guys you know his jaw is always suspended right?

You're suspended!

Arent we all in suspense?

>
>
>Guys you know his jaw is always suspended right?

Suspended?!

Fuck, didn't even get detention first...

You're not a fucking jaw user, please your family is worried about you!

At the end of the day, fancy magic still doesn't beat just getting up close and smashing something with a club.

Elka is the perfect woman.

Duane has super strength right?

I think Cope's said that his strength is pretty much limited by how much his skeleton can handle.

This is apparently quite true, incidentally. Most Wrights aren't actually all that helpful in a straight up fight, because most aren't as good as those we've been following up until now. They're either not creative enough, not adaptable enough, not as capable of pulling off the more complicated stuff, or just plain not fast enough. They're all pretty dangerous, but Cope has said that most of the time they can get whacked by a normal soldier.

voodoo man got in too deep and now he gets beat by a skeleton

So, how tragic is this going to be? Iori see Duane about to beat the ugly out of Rahm and accidentally gets skewed when she rushes in?

The only thing I can think of happening that would be worse is if Rahm was the one who killed her by accident instead.

So that means that it'll be one of the two.

His unhinged jaw makes him look like he's retarded or something and I find this hilarious.

BEST WRIGHT IN CENTURIES

the longer I stare

I think it would be less bad if he killed her himself, since the situation is his fault.
If Duane kills her not only will she be dead but it will haunt him

>OONGA BOONGA DUANE MAD

Well he decomposes so he's probably really brittle by now

He looks like Papyrus

>where da wright women at

post of the year

You piece of shit

But he's replaced his bones with new bones over he years

I hope Duane doesn't fix his jaw before Sette sees him again. I'm curious to know what glamoured Duane looks like with an unhinged jaw.

...

Duane's expression speaks to me, it says OOGA BOOGA WHERE DA CRESCIAN WOMEN AT?

is duane justified in killing rahm here?

More like "WHERE DA SILVER THIRD OPTIONS AT?"

Yoooo his wife is still alive

Not entirely sure if I understand you here, but this is from a short story before he met his wife. Note the complete lack of zombieness. Of course, if you mean he wouldn't be stalking the Silver wimmen right now, because he's still stuck on his wife, that goes for the Crescian women too.

Incidentally, history repeats with his daughter. Those Adeliers got the Silver fever.

You bastard, you owe me a new pair of sides.

Yup, you can't do much if Duane's got a hold of your throat with his zombie superstrength. No words will be coming out of that mouth.
Pyramics require words to trigger as well, right?

Yes

>Home, then

Fuck, he means the Khert.

Don't do this Ashely. The ToMAN must never die.

i dont think they need words if they're set up in advance to trigger to specific triggers, though im sure im wrong

I'm still not sure what the guy is doing with the waterfall.

I'm sure it's been mentioned before a wright taking the kinetic force aspect or whatever the proper term would be from water in a waterfall hitting the bottom. Based on the previous page, where there's light spiking out of his hands, this is probably what's happening. We saw a similar effect when a wright was storing an explosion aspect in his hands. If I recall, Quiggley was fighting him and by disruppting his concentration he wasn't able to release it in time, and it exploded in his hands. And split them in half. Elka was probably trying to do something similar, if not out right kill him.

his fuckin' face, jesus christ.
What's good, nigga

I love the look of concern on the dog's face in panel 6.

> I cast STICK

>Nyeeeeeeeh!

That's because Elka is far more competent

Criminal scum should be allowed no mercy

Why is Ashley allowed to pair the single funniest drawing she's ever made with the tragedy of two beloved characters plummeting to their deaths.

Because the comic is so girly.

It IS pretty girly.

A Zomrambe

So is waterfall guy preparing to destroy the town in a single blast? Why were they so keen on killing him if they could just escape?

I still don't know what the hell this guy was trying to do. He's just been standing there looking increasingly metal for like two weeks. Couldn't he just have blown them to high heaven with all that waterfall channeling?

He's stopping them from harnessing the waterfall to escape by containing all the pressure.

Yep. He was never there for Toma and Elka, he's there charging for a coup de grace on the city. If he'd launched that kind of power at the Peaceguard it would have killed them all, himself included. That's why Elka felt confident charging him. She didn't figure this dude for the suicidal type.

I did laugh though.

could they not ride up to the guy and stab him? why draw the edge of a dagger for a ranged attack when you have a dagger.

>...metal as fuck?

METAL AS FUCK!

>
>But he's replaced his bones with new bones over he years

So, zombie dad is basically a disembodied mind, maybe with a soul still attached, that's animating a puppet body so he can still feel...well.

Not alive. Certainly not human.

Corporeal?

Is zombie dad actually the world's most violent ghost, who's using magic to pretend he's a plod?

>is duane justified in killing rahm here?

FUCK yes.

Rahm is a piece of human garbage, and ridding the world of him is a service for goodness.

I mean, he can't replace his spine. The extra port is what allows him to Tacit cast, that's nothing to do with his soul.

Motherfucker just ripped a metal railing apart and beat ghosts into nothingness with it.

I think he's got rage zombie retard strength right now.

They're never going to leave that fucking city, are they?

Please let Duane smash that smug fuck's face in.

wait wait wait wait

when did this happen and where did it come from

It's from one of the canon side stories on the site. You should read them.

Not that guy but didn't even know there were side stories. Guess I've got some reading to do.

Might as well reread the rest of the comic as well.

lood

this is so underrated it hurts

SOUDED

This seems like a thing that should've been explained at some point. Was it and did I just forget?

Duane is just so goddamn ridiculous here. I feel like I should be taking all this very seriously but I can't stop laughing

>
>This seems like a thing that should've been explained at some point. Was it and did I just forget?

No.

Probably the greatest weakness of unsounded is the lack of an editor.

The chick making this has talent dripping out her fingernails, but she is not the strongest storyteller out there.

having awesome ideas and being a terriffic cartoonist does not make you a storyteller.

This is a case where an editor, a GOOD editor, to go over her scripts before she creates the comic would be an improvement.

Assuming her process allows such things. lots of webcomics creators literally write it as they create it. It's a very immediate, fluid medium because of it, but some comics suffer for it.

This tbqh.

I think she said that she has the story written out all the way to the end, though I'm not sure to what degree of detail.
Problem is, she doesn't seem to believe people when they say they actually want to be told more about how things work in comic because she thinks most readers wouldn't care and it would detract from the actual story. And to a degree, that's a fair point - there does need to be a balance between those things. But she's waaaaay too far on the "doesn't explain enough" side which can make actions and their consequences seem confusing or like an ass-pull.
It's kind of frustrating, really, because if you look at how she answers questions, it's pretty clear that she has actually thought everything out very well.

I'm reasonably confident that Unsounded is written out in advance, but I agree that a properly critical editor is almost always a positive in storytelling. I'm thinking of Stephen King and how many of his stories are hurt by his editor being way too nice.

In this scene, I'm pretty sure that Elka tried to kill that wright so she could use the falls to escape. I'm not quite sure if the wright is deliberately blocking their (or anyone else's) escape or is gathering energy to attack the city in one big fuck-off blast. I initially assumed he was, but why not JUST do that and set fire to the rubble? And him holding all that pressure aspect is obviously killing him, so I don't think he's just waiting around for the black ops team to finish.

Why? You'll find out when it happens. You don't really need to know the specifics of what that guy's doing.

seeing how he's in direct confrontation with our heroes, what he's doing is rather important

He isn't really in direct confrontation.
He's an obstacle.

If we don't know what he's doing, we don't really know what threat that obstacle poses. Him just standing there is a reaction that doesn't make much sense out of context.

Looked pretty alarming though.

How good is Duane at sex?

Does he still have a dick?

Apparently he was 'average'.

No.

>
>Apparently he was 'average'.
>No.

Maybe he needs to replace that bone, too?

And while he's at it, put some of that 'greatest wright in centuries' business to work in the sack, if you know what I mean.

Lady Ilganyag has got to have high standards, don't ya know.
