Why did they fuck up the chronology of kahn? according to the movie he was cryogenically frozen in 1943, makes no fucking sense.

Can you believe they had Kirk "die" in Into Darkness and Spock react by screaming "KHHAAAAAANN!!!!"? That was among the stupidest things ever put on film and a complete insult to the legacy of Wrath of Khan. 1) Spock would never, ever, do that, especially not Nu-Spock who has none of the history and friendship with Kirk and 2) In WoK that was Kirk hamming it up in-character to sell the whole "we're trapped on the genesis planet" angle while Kirk had a whole plan all along to get beamed out.

It honestly seemed like the writers of this movie have never actually watched Star Trek and just knew about it through cultural osmosis.

Khan wasn't the only genetically enhanced human. He was just the most infamous, and he ruled over the Indian territory.

It is made evidently clear that he respects him and values his friendship and that he can feel quite easily, though I can understand why an autist would have issues picking up social cues instead of being spelled out.

It was a completely valid response of this character and how he was written.

You dumb fuck, the point is that it should be even more distant to Wrath. There should have been no death scene, no Khan scream, no Carol Marcus.

I will concede that it is within the character of '09 Spock to react highly emotionally (he did karate chop Kirk in the first one after being mocked) but it's completely out of character for who Spock actually is. Real Spock would determine that Kirk sacrificed himself in a tough situation and conclude that it was logical for the good of the many. Instead he flips out and goes and tries to punch the villain to death.

And there's no way in hell I wanted this to be a "shot by shot remake" of WoK, I would have liked the movie at least a little better if "Khan" had just been a rogue Section 31 agent. The references to the old movie were frankly pathetic examples of pandering (pretty much my original point).
