Edgy used to be counterculture. Edgy became cringy because the internet made it harder to shock people, so edginess lost its desired affect of putting people off. The most offensive thing about that movie is the unironic use of "Back In Black" in the trailer.

The nature of "edgy" will change. It used to be about rallying against the moral censorship from the bible thumpers. Violence, sex and cursing, that sort of thing. A vigilante movie might be kino if instead of revenge porn it showed how impossible vigilanteism is in real life. Show the guy showing up after crimes happen, killing the wrong people, etc.

Humanizing the criminals will also be a plus. It would be nice if the socioeconomic aspects of crime was taken into account in these vigilante films.
