I am so annoyed this song wasn't on the official soundtrack, neither the warehouse escape which was great how despite him re-using the Indiana Jones main theme, he somehow managed to make it sound interesting and not just a re release same old like TFA sounds like when it plays the Han and Leia music.

I liked the Jedi Steps and there was 1 tune during the Finn and Poe escape that sounded good but it only lasted for 10 seconds and I never heard it again... Sucks

But this is directing 100%. The director guides everyone and tells them how they should act, including the composer. Guiding him on what he wants to hear.
A good director will spend time with everyone and make sure he gets the film he wants. Not just leave the composer and actors alone and let them do their own thing.
