You see, when Katrina was happening, I was going to college in the Gulf Coast region of Mississippi. One day, then President Bush decided to make a visit to see all the destruction and the recovery effort, many moons after the fact sometime in Spring. The Secret Service decided to do this by going down a side street. This street was the only way, without going literally 25 miles out of my way because a bridge was still not rebuilt, to get to school. What is normally a mile walk was now undoable without me being late.
I had to call my teachers telling them I could not go to class that day because the President of the United States would not let me.
