Time. He's a very talented guy with a very narrow range, and the demand for what he does is getting smaller every year. This isn't anyone's fault, it's just how the world works. The fact that he's taking it so personally, and slipping into "Ya damn kids git offa mah lawn!" territory isn't helping.

Autism and narcissism mostly, with a spot of sexual perversion.
I'm sure I could post some Chris-Chan quotes and it'd be pretty easy to believe they are his.
Let's try:

>Anyhow, who among everyone in this world has not had a dream of having sex with one of their parents? Never acting on them ever, I, myself, did have dreams of having sex with my mother.
>Although incest is quite controversial topic, but there are circumstances where there would be not so much harm as one may think, feel or believe.
>The child is over 18; the mother is unable to have any more children at the time; birth control and protection is available and can be used (in a case of father/daughter, birth control definitely should be used anyhow).

I love John Byrne. I think he's one of the most amazing talents the industry has ever produced.

I also hate John Byrne. I think he's one of the most repugnant, unlikable personalities the industry has ever produced.

if you have balls that weight about 5 pounds each like John does, you never ind trousers that it. therefor you get angry easily and you start shooting in the faces of people who are about to make a picture of you.

Leetle girls.

>Punished Linkara.jpg

Yeah basically. Like he HAS to be legitimately autistic, his bizarre Chris-Chan-esque beliefs, need to connect everything and explain everything that doesn't need explaining, inability to get along with anybody, it's all textbook autism.

Guy can fucking draw though and has produced some fantastic works.

Fuck off, John.

I don't really like his art outside of UXM- aside from some stuff with Sinott inks. His inks over his own stuff look scratchy and sloppy to me.

He's not content with being an awesome penciller and tries to write stuff as well.

>What's his fucking problem?
Pretty much anything you care to name: en.wikiquote.org/wiki/John_Byrne

His penis craves illegal things

Sup Forums actually getting to work on comics.

I love that page

I'll get shit for this, but I think the last time his art was good was the original run of Next Men.

If you're feeling brave, create an account at Byrne Robots, quote at Byrne from his wikiquote page, screencap his reactions, and get back to us here.

I've been there. He doesn't react; he bans.

>Pedophiles are almost certainly "born that way". Again, we go to evolutionary conditioning. Seek the youngest, strongest, most healthy, for breeding purposes. A sure (or as sure as it gets) way to guarantee the survival of your genes. Pedophilia also brings along a big heaping helping of learned responses, however. In a society like ours, where "normal" sex is considered by many to be filthy and disgusting, "abnormal" sex is of course even moreso. "Abnormal" in this case meaning anything—even simple physical attraction—that is not "age-appropriate", heterosexual, and strictly for procreation. Preferably missionary position. Thus, any confused individual who finds himself attracted to young girls is likely to find himself attracted to increasingly younger girls, as part of his pattern of self-loathing. So much emotional torment—in victims and victimizers—would surely be set aside if our society was sexually liberated enough to even be able to say "Sure, it's okay to be attracted to eleven year olds. Just don't do anything about it!"

What did he meant by this?

He meant that the worst thing about being a pedophile is fitting in.

he hasn't got any ammunition.

...

Autism and being an asshole. Also trigger discipline.

He meant that there might be a reason why minor keep being put into sexual situations in his comics.

>implying he's wrong

I'm autistic (formally diagnosed) and don't recognise myself in people like Byrne and Chris-Chan. I think Byrne's real defect is his personality, and Chris-Chan . . . well, there's something more than just autism going on there.

I am too (atypical autism aka sperg), and that's why I mentioned the combo. There is a combination of autism and assholery that I can't stand. Sum more annoying than the parts?

It's also a spectrum. They could just be really far along the scale in addition to the narcissism.

Wouldn't be surprised if Chris-Chan also had a severe learning disability on top of everything since someone was able to talk him into being trans.

...

Might be the sum of autism and assholery. Byrne seems a _lot_ more functional than Chris-chan but still... eh, I think CC has Byrne beat.

I think Chris has so much wrong with him it's hard not to see bits of him in other weirdos. I've been watching a lot of Alex Jones freaking out lately and all of his mannerisms remind me of CWC.

I think the crux of his argument is "No one makes the choice to be attracted to children, so someone who has these desires but doesn't act on them shouldn't be hated by society. This hatred only makes everyone more miserable are worsens the problem."

But being Byrne, he has to communicate it in the most distasteful possible way.

Am I the only one that sees a bit of Dillonface in that image?

I don't think anyone seriously thinks Byrne is even close to as dysfunctional as CWC. Even if you remove all of CWC's other overt personality disorders, Byrne can't possibly compete on the autism front.

CWC currently has an infected taint piercing he thinks is a vagina he magicked up through hypnotism, I think even CWC from five years ago was less dysfunctional than CWC now.

Byrne's been going around the Star Trek con circuit recently. He's done a couple!

Yeah, look up his New Vision comics for some truly horrific books.

Dude, it was a joke.

>his New Vision comics
jesus fucking christ telenovelas

oh i know, they're hilarious. the best is one where he used himself as a old guy yelling at kids to get off his farm

Jesus Christ, Star Trek fans are the most autistic people in the world, how can someone read this holy shit

I always enjoy these Byrne threads

anyways in terms of comics his problem seems to be that he's obsessed with details that people don't really care about

>Green Goblin and Sandman are related because they have similar hair
Ditko just gave them Joseph Cotten hair

he wanted Lara to crash on earth while still pregnant with Clark so that Superman could be BORN an american citizen. Instead he made the birthing matrix
like he was so hard up that Superman be an american citizen!?!? WHY DID HE CARE THAT MUCH ABOUT THIS?!?!?

He's the evil Chris Claremont. He lets his shitty fetishes influence his writing too much.

Byrne, Neal Adams, and Frank Miller are the holy trinity of amazing talents who went off the deep end after they spent too much time left to their own devices.

>WHY DID HE CARE THAT MUCH ABOUT THIS?!?!?
en.wikiquote.org/wiki/John_Byrne#Superman

You forgot Dave Sim.

Interestingly, he makes a distinction between Jim Hammond and the Vision, in that while Vision is a "toaster", Hammond isn't.
Speaking of, was there any reason King went with "socket lover" for the robot hate name instead of toaster?

no one does, Byrne's always complaining about it. I might look em up later because his complaints are great, he doesn't understand why fans wouldn't love his comics

didn't he use toaster like in the Wanda issue as an in joke for the couple or something? I remember it showing up and laughing bc I thought it was a great subtle F U at Byrne.

Oh my god...

>There are lots of people who call black people “niggers.” Are both terms “right”? You seem to have missed the rather important point that my response indicated roughly the same percentage of fans and pros use the improper terms for various elements of what we do—but that percentage does not approach a balance. It is not that roughly half say “balloon” and half say “bubble.” It is that some say “bubble” and they are wrong.

He wants to bang an eleven year old.
Clearly.
Also he is confused about the visual cues regarding fertility. They based less on age and more on body shape. A body shape that 11 year old girls rarely posessed in the nutritional environment within which our ancestors existed for the vast majority of human evolution.

What the hell is this shit?

God, why did DC ever let Byrne Reboot the character?
Gerber/Frank Miller/a few other guys were up for the reboot but they went with Byrne

>they wanted Alan Moore to write the dialog for Byrne
hahaha, good idea DC

This is from an old Mccleans article that has gone 404 so I can't link the original, but...enjoy-
>The first thing detectives from the Toronto police sex crimes unit saw when they entered Roderick Cowan's apartment was an autographed picture of William Shatner. Along with the photos on the computer of Scott Faichnie, also busted for possessing child porn, they found a snapshot of the pediatric nurse and Boy Scout leader wearing a dress "Federation" uniform. Another suspect had a TV remote control shaped like a phaser. Yet another had a Star Trek credit card in his wallet. One was using "Picard" as his screen name. In the 3 1/2 years since police in Canada's biggest city established a special unit to tackle child pornography, investigators have been through so many dwellings packed with sci-fi books, DVDs, toys and collectibles like Klingon swords and sashes that it's become a dark squadroom joke. "We always say there are two types of pedophiles: Star Trek and Star Wars," says Det. Ian Lamond, the unit's second-in-command. "But it's mostly Star Trek."

At a guess, Byrne would never have let them hear the end of it if they gave the job to anyone else.

This. When Marvel was in very early talks with DC about licensing their characters for comics, he showed up at Shooter's office with the first cover to Marvel's Superman done. Penciled, inked, ready to go. There had been nothing but a meeting between the two and already he was campaigning for the job.

He liked to brag that he'd seen the Superman movie over 1000 times.

That also lost Marvel their chance because byrne wouldn't shut up about it. I think he actually went over Shooter's head and the executive called Shooter asking who the hell this guy was

I would prefer Byrne to Miller any day of the fucking week after how he wrote Superman in TDKR.

And really, Byrne was exactly what Superman needed at the time. They had to make him appeal to Marvelfags while not going overboard like Miller or Moore would have, and Gerber would have done a great job but he would probably be too conservative with the character.
