What was the point of this line? What did D&D mean by this?

Why did it trigger me so much?

It was an analogy to the fact that boat loads of migrants up to the thousands can land on European shores daily and they don't fight back they don't even vote in a different party the just keep getting the same shit fed everyday.

It's smugness and snark in the face of people getting burned to death.

>inb4 hurdur white people. I'm Hispanic
The guy is Russian-Indian

It's not.
It's analog to what happen when an army isn't prepared to face another army.

>Charge a spear and shield wall with light cavalry
>Tells others they can't fight

What did they mean by this?

Because it is said by useless piece of shit who got trampled three times since landing in Westeros.
All of the previous seasons were correctly pointing out that these bareass mongoloids will be useless in Westeros type warfare, yet yas kween slay writing allows them to act smug.
It is not what he said, it is your common sense railing against atrocious writing for millenial retards.

I don't recognize this character. What's his name?

Reminder that the Mongols were destroying those immigrants.
I really hate Cuckservatives. You literally care more about a shitty TV show no one but you and Tumblr takes seriously. At least Sup Forums has been fine this week, the garbage good goy conservatives that love Israel goes and post on Sup Forumsand Sup Forums and free the board for smart chat between libertarians and national socialists.

>when an army isn't prepared to face dragons
ftfy

It irritates you because it doesn't make any sense, they had like 3 times the men and a fucking dragon

>Why did it trigger me so much?

Because you're insecure and lack confidence in your own physical capability, whilst identifying with the Westerosi due to imagined ethnic and/or cultural similarities, making it seem like a direct criticism.

Same reason kids have a fucking meltdown at the suggestion their nation's special forces might not be The Best In The World™. People who can't fight like to imagine they're protected by the proverbial 'rough men' who are possessed of iron will and unstoppable martial ability and get uncomfortable if that reassuring fantasy is undermined.

nah it's because of this:

You're gay pal

>Why did it trigger me so much?
Because They would have got fucking slaughtered if their spear wall hadn't been broken, and even with a dragon on their asses it was clear they were being given a good fight.
Horses don't charge Spears unless trained to do so, because horses aren't utter retards.

>Sup Forums

fuck off stormweenie

Well they still breached it even without Dany going Colonel Kilgore, just smashed straight through, they lost some men but totally disrupted the formation.

Lannisters got shite battlefield discipline obviously. Romans drilled legionaries to reform into increasingly smaller groups, right down to contubernium, if their formations were violently disrupted, these guys just formed one big block of men and then ran when it broke.

They were fucked, anyway, the army wasn't concentrated and spread for miles, they were under the idea if anyone could attack them it would be the dickless ones, the horse guys didn't shy away from fighting the valyrians.

you wish you were white

>show is about baiting for reactions
>sjw cry because of the rape scene
>Sup Forums cries because a fictional army lost and some random guy said one line

>land in westeros
>get immediately owned by euron greyjoy and his fleet
>invade casterly rock
>get immediately owned by euron greyjoy and his fleet
>flee to highgarden
>get swiftly defeated by the lannisters
>all the food and resources from the reach is plundered by the lannisters
>face imminent starvation
>dany teleports dothraki from dragonstone to the crownlands
>dany uses her invincible dragon hacks
>dany gives your unarmoured calvary immunity from armoured knights with pikes and dragonfire
>"lol your people can't fight"

Do people really think the Dothraki is a cool fictional race?

What exactly is going to happen with the Dothraki by the end if the series?

Will they happily integrate into Westoros?

Will they be the new guardians of the wall?

The line that OP posted for some reason feels like foreshadowing to me. I get the feeling that they'll do poorly against the white walkers or they'll be too afraid to fight them.

What does Sup Forums think?

I hadn't realized most of Sup Forums was Westerosi.

We are white civilized men of good bloodlines. You have to go back

>Why did it trigger me so much?
Two reasons. First, you were cheering for the actual good guys. And since they were getting rekt due to overwhelming odds, saying they can't fight is insulting.
Second, it's not even true. Again, they had overwhelimg odds, a dragon, and it was an ambush against the baggage train guards that were exhausted from marching and fighting.

So you got triggered because it wasn't anywhere near a fair fight, and the evil barbarian was insulting the people they just cowardly ambushed and napalmed.

Pretty typical response though, no one likes hypocrites, which is a trait that is pretty much embodied by Dany.

>What exactly is going to happen with the Dothraki by the end if the series?
Dead by Night King.

Sure, I like cocks because Im not comparing trump to voldemort or the savages in this show to immigrants.

They'll raid westeros while Jon and YASSS QUEEN fight the white walkers.

Either that or they'll fight with Daenerys and get extinct.

They'll just die off so the show doesn't have to answer any hard questions.

Jesus how are people so butthurt about a fantasy-show? Is it all a joke i'm not getting or are you people seriously this frustrated? And it's not like it's the first time in the series that a character made an unfair move.

In real life they'd just become the new lower nobility of the kingdom, Unsullied aren't going to produce a new generation so it'll just be the Dothraki to take up the slack. They'll adopt some Westerosi customs from their new wives, Westerosi will adopt some of theirs as they try to suck up to their new lords and you'll end up with a hybrid culture, at least at the higher echelons of society.

Fuck knows what the series will do though.

Stop being anti white you fucking nonwhite

tbf euron uses teleportation too

In addition to what people said in this thread, it was frustrating because it only makes sense to the extent that it's a comment on them being unprepared for the surprise attack. It's part 2 of the Casterly Rock buttfucking where a currently at-war army apparently has no scouts.

>I'm Hispanic
We know, nu/pol/. We know.

>See show with promise
>it pisses it away
>while violating in setting common sense it already established
>wondering why this annoys people

Robert wanted Dany assassinated in fear of a dothraki army actually reaching Westeros. Have you been watching the show?

Without the Dragon could Jamie have actually held them off?

I know talking numbers is silly since it's not consistent or explicitly stated but wasn't it somewhere around 10,000 v. 40,000?

The horses running through fire bothered me, too.
>haha, everything's on fire, you can't run!
>except we can, the fire doesn't bother any of us because we're written to be winning this fight

It was the rearguard of a supply train. That should have been like 1000 men at best since most were already in the city.

He could have formed squares with his spearmen and the dothraki calvary wouldnt be able to do shit.

Obviously not a great tactic vs a dragon.

>Muh overwhelming odds
>Ignoring superior position, superior armour, weaponry and formation
>Muh dragon
>Literally just artillery, same effect could be achieved with ballista or trebuchets

He's right, they can't fight, absolutely no reason they should have lost that. Their armoured spearwall got broken by unarmoured cavalrymen armed with shotels.

Archers apparantly need to be specifically ordered to return fire on the dragon and the anti-dragon weapon isn't unpacked the moment the fucking Dothraki, who work for the a woman with three fucking dragons, appear.

But the dothraki have already been characterized as smug arrogant assholes for multiple seasons. And there's obviously going to be an episode where the horde + dragons go up against KL and get BTFO'd by ballistas and organized heavy infantry

Probably. The wall wouldn't have truly broken if the dragon didn't fuck them up.

...

>(you)

What promise?

Fuck off you nazi manchild, no one likes you.

They go back to essos, why don't you try to pay attention? Dany has to go back to take care of her cities, and the savages are only behind her because theor religion told them they would eventually fight and conquer the rest of the world. First westeros and then the rest of the world, remember they all lost their Vatican city so their culture is now just fighting, not even slaves or pillage because that was because of their city, now all they have is rape and war as far as they can't, they won't stay in westeros because that's not what they want.

this

Actually a lot of people like me and most people I know hate the dothraki and dragon bitch.

West for the whites

>what promise

He should have held them off anyway, the dragon only toasted a handful of men, she wasted a load of time strafing the wagons.

He has a god-tier defensive position there. He formed one giant line, it got disrupted by LIGHT CAVALRY and then his men ran around in a panic and fell apart, no attempt to reorder into circles or other defensive formations, no second rank established to catch the Dothraki if they penetrated the front line.

Ballista should have been manned the moment they heard the hooves too.

Jaime is shit.

>nu

Sup Forums was always insecure /r9k/ Cuckservatives, uncle Toms, Mexicans trying to be allies, Jewish shills and stormfags. Libertarians and national socialists are the minority. Trump turned the board into a republican board, but it didn't affect the race, there's a reason Sup Forums always bullied Sup Forums lack of whiteness.

The Lannister soldiers did pretty well for being ambushed by Dothraki in an open field after a long march, while simultaneously being burned from above by a dragon.

>Why this badly written show is so shitty?
Dunno, I stopped watching in the 3rd season, I'm only here to laugh at you

200 lannister men at most
the dothraki were 1,000 at most too

...yes, because guys with bows can't fight that.

Fucking idiot, stop learning tactics from age of empires.

>GoT is the War of Roses remake
>Westeros is basically Europe
>lol lets root for a bunch of illiterate shitskin retards in leather pants who have zero conception of siege warfare and who brought short arab type horses into what is basically northern Europe climate

When they inevitably go to the north they will die fast either by cold or white walker.

>What did D&D mean by this?
Haha, your people cant write

If the numbers were about the same then yes heavy infantry can defeat a mix of light infantry and light cavalry.

>i deliberately watch a series with strong female characters and unpredictable plot twists and now i am mad. How could this be happening to me.

Yea i sorta think you're lying, usually it's the lonely/misanthropic people who end up being nazis.

your Hispanic blood remembers centuries of fighting the moors

its genetic memory

>Forming square isn't a real life tactic against cavalry all the way up to and including the Napoleonic wars.

>Forming a long two man line with bowmen directly behind against a light cavalry charge is better.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Infantry_square

>Bowmen were shown in the episode to be ineffective against the dragon

What exactly are you arguing my man?

Think what you want, nonwhite. I have the high ground

>Almost instantly form shield wall with spears against light cavalry
>Ok, usual tactics there
>Dargon burns 10 people and this disrupts the formation
>Entire Lannister army morale explodes and everyone just goes off by themselves

Not sure if shit writing or their army is all fancy no skill.

Did GoT ever portray any of the common folk as illiterate in Westeros. Wasn't there a lot of that in the Middle Ages

>ambush attack on tired army
>outnumber 4 to 1
>dragon hax
lol ur beaple canb fite :333DDDD

I imagine using the wagons as barriers would be a good idea.
I mean its a bunch of light cavalry vs. a shield wall with pikes sticking out. The Dothraki wouldnt be able to do shit.

Anyway, why the hell did the show writers make the Dothraki charge them anyway? Literally no one uses unarmored horses as shock troops. The best thing to do would be to run in close, fire some arrows, but never get too close.

I also don't get why lannisters use shields. They have pull plate armor, which makes shields obsolete since the armor does what the shield does.

The dothraki used to be in control thanks to the valyrians, they are insane savages that attacked people with dragons, get rekt and still keep doing it for centuries.

The irony is that on top of everything i'm scandinavian which i'm guessing makes me "whiter" than you. The only thing sadder than a nazi is a hilbilly pretending to be one and failing at it.

yes they did.

in one ep Tywin says to Arya "oh a commoner who can read smart girl" or some shit

It is the setting user. The show started in some way, set up some world rules and for four to five seasons it somehow stuck to them. Ned had to deal with logistics, Rob had to deal with logistics, Lannisters had to deal with logistic and supplies, that is what built the character plots - the necessity that those characters felt and the bonds they had to forge due to them. Rob went to Frey because he desperatelly needed his one shitty bridge. just because of one shitty bridge all of the Starks were almost killed.
The Queen of Slay faces absolutely no such setbacks, even though she has the worst disposition of armies, completely unsuited for Westerosi style warfare (couple mercenary throat cutters and light cavalry who think that armor is an insult to their honor), she has no allies, no supply chains, people have exactly zero reasons to support her since a daughter of insane despot brought dragons and army of rapists is nothing to be happy about, and the Westeros already demonstrated that they are able to take down even much bigger dragons.

She is in absolutely no position to feel smug or optimistic, since she already suffered three defeats since her landing, yet she does thanks to atrocious writing that drags the quality down.

the line irritated me as well for all the reasons outlined itt, it was this episodes "its a new one" I just figured it was brown people being brown people and put it behind me.

@86187158
(You)

....says the horse nigger afraid to ride a boat and who spends all his time attacking other horse niggers or shepherds.

probably like russia russians after ww2. Fuck all the women then leave.

tfw not this aesthetic

>Anyway, why the hell did the show writers make the Dothraki charge them anyway? Literally no one uses unarmored horses as shock troops

That's just lazy Hollywood writing. Mind you that majority of hollywood "epic battles" is just 2 armies mindlessly running full speed into each other using no tactics or strategy whatsoever.

Seeing Jamie utilizing some tactics such as a spear wall was refreshing even tho other retarded shit happened

>Scandinavian
>white

Fucking Swede your mother is fucked by the hoarde

Because you're retarded. That whole scene was meant to convey Dany might not be on the right
If she goes full mad queen and has to be killed this show might be redeemed

This
Seriously how retarded do you have to be to not get fucking GoT

>The irony is that on top of everything i'm scandinavian which i'm guessing makes me "whiter" than you.

in which fantasy novel is that somalio gayson?

Davos is initially illiterate

Yeah I'm sure all the best armies would hold the line when a dragon nobody thought really exists comes swooping down on them.

It was there to highlight Tyrion's guilt over attacking the people he once fought beside, as well as his own brother.

Mate you'd be right if the case wasn't that a giant flying lizard pulled out of hell was spitting napalm from above on them. I'd fucking run too, you can't win.

Am I the only one who think the line was supposed to be ironic? The scene is shot from the point of view of the Lannisters, so we're supposed to be rooting against the Dothraki anyway, and it's pretty obvious that their victory is mostly because of the dragon. So we see a cocky person from a warrior culture make a boast like that, while we know that the only reason he's winning is that a dragon is burning everyone alive. It's like a crime boss calling someone a pussy while a henchman is beating them up. And the scene comes right after Tyrion is obviously horrified by what's going on.

I didn't think it was supposed to be a "YAY, BADASSES" moment, I thought it was supposed to show that they're shitty people. But hey, this is Sup Forums and everything needs to be about politics.

its obvious to anyone with a working brain
ie, not nu-Sup Forums

>inb4 hurdur white people. I'm Hispanic

You are also retarted, Hispanic is not a race, you are a mestizo or a nigger.

it literally just means the dothraki are owning the lannister army. Idiots like self-inserting themselves in the show with political bullshit

Tywin was extremely surprised Arya could read when she was pretending to a common girl. He was even more surprised when she told him her skilled worker father taught her how to read after he taught himself. He did eventually figure out that she is probably of noble birth though.

Ebic :-DDD

Not a meme. Your country is fucked

>I'm Hispanic
Yeah, the group of people that want to be white so bad that it's uncomfortable.

Your position isn't shocking.

Light cavalry do shit against spear formations

I usually feel average but once in a while I see a guy that looks that good and realize how much of runt turd I am.

I'm guessing you were triggered because this asshole is acting all smug when his forces were handed an easy win by having literal flying artillery, at a moment when the full gravity of betraying his family is hitting Tyrion while innocent people are dying for the nobles' stupid war. See, race doesn't have to come into it.

he could impregnate my europe, if you know what I mean
