I personally hope they keep the mature elements under controlled. That they don´t lose their minds with this new found freedom to write as much gore as possible and write a violent show, not a show that revolves around violence.
I also hope they don´t make Jack into an 90s anti hero or some shit like that. Even if he's older and more broken he should maintain an honorable persona who protects the innocent and can refuse to fight when he deems it necessary.
I also expect the action to be even better than before. From S2 onwards the action got pretty good in the original cartoon and I expect it to have gotten even better.
Bump
I hope this thing goes completely apeshit crazy with the source material, whilst still being recognizable as Samurai Jack.
And they should resolve it well or not at all.
So, either happy ending or no ending at all, right?
I hope this user kills himself.
Samurai Jack has always been gritty.
More than just one episode of Samurai Jack is directly inspired by Lone Wolf & Cub. The episode where the mercenaries ambush him near a winter shack is directly taken from a Lone Wolf & Cub story where pretty much the same happens.
So Samurai Jack having blood in it wont feel too out of place, given how bloody its original inspiration was.
What I meant is that I hope they don´t make it too edgy. I love gritty stuff, and when I watched the original Samurai Jack, or any action show for that matter, I was always disappointed that they were fighting robots instead of living beings.
I know, I like gore and blood. I just hope they use so much of it that the final product ends up looking like some teenager's edgy fanfiction
>What does Sup Forums expect from this show?
to become a huge turd.
>What do you hope they do with it?
i hope they don't fuck it up badly.
>What do you fear they´ll do with it?
>What do you hope they don´t do with it?
transtesticle, gay pride, niggers, feminism, Shipping, aku dindu nothin, samurai-shaming and aku winning.
Why so much hate, user?
And let's be honest, there´ll be no Tumblr in here. Tumblr would get triggered if they saw any blood.
God forbid, an actual personality and character arc. Samurai Jack has to deal actual mature topic instead of bushido wet dream.
Although, I like blood and gore too
>God forbid, an actual personality and character arc. Samurai Jack has to deal actual mature topic instead of bushido wet dream.
Samurai Jack isn't Steven Universe. Not everything has to be a slow boring animated melodrama. SJ is an action show.
I think they are going that route. They´ve established that Jack has been at this for 50 years. I´m sure he will have changed somehow.
>implying there was no character development in the OG show
Near the beginning Jack usually just got mad and frustrated at all the shit that was trying to kill him. Near the end he pretty much just went with the flow.
>What does Sup Forums expect from this show?
GOTTA GO BACK
>faggot
The cartoon need more gore anyways.
I want to see Aku committing genocide on screen, or at least impaling every single soldier of a city. Some neat flashbacks to his conquest of Earth, with it's fair share of carnage will be welcome too.
Agreed
About this, what kind of shit do you think Aku will be able to pull off now that he's no longer constricted by a PG rating?
It's Genndy Tartakovsky, so whatever they do with Season 5 will be fucking great based solely on the fact that he's back directing. I'm in for whatever Genndy's got in store for us.
I expect exactly what i would write a show
any slight difference i will be angry and rage on the internet on how much it sucks and its destroying cartoons forever
>"niggers"
I have some bad news for you user
Wtf what was wrong with his old voice?
>samurai jack isn't steven universe
No but Genndy is a fan and worked on the pilot
Having sex is already confirmed
Nothing
I was pointing out that Jack himself is voiced by a black man
I hope it will be more of the same, but now with extra goo coming out of mooks.
it doesn't need to be happy as long as it is satisfactory, i don't mind a bittersweet ending
I hope they don't go overboard with the new freedom over violence, don't get me wrong is great that they have that option now and they can do thing they always did only with robots with others now, but i fear gore in Samurai Jack can feel out of place.
>edgy is a bad thing
Fuck off, SoL fag.
that is his old voice actor genius
Greatness. Has Genndy EVER not delivered? Even fucking Hotel Transylvania 2 had great animation
>having sex
>with blossom
>best ship
>only ship
Gendy don't you puss out on me
the shitposting thread you're looking for is that way
nah he was an animation director on the pilot
Phil LaMarr has always voiced Jack you fucking pleb
Hopefully the ending is nothing like the lame IDW comic's.
>Nigger = black skin
What an idiot. Go back to the hood monkey man.
Defeat Aku once and for all!
While a great villain, no doubt, he is well overdue for some serious karma by now.
What Samurai Jack should have been in the first place. Nothing holding them back so they're free to explore it to its full potential.
I get what user is saying. Let it be violent, but don't let the violence drown the story under a welter of blood. Don't Tarantino it.
BACK TO THE PAST
I don't have a problem with using blood now. It's a natural next step as it's now on AS and the kids who watched it are now adults.
The show also used lots of blood analogs and robots facing horrific demise
>Changing the definition and common use of words to fit my agenda
>What Samurai Jack should have been in the first place.
The no blood/gore rule is what lead to the futuristic setting in the first place, and a lot of good imagery.
I seriously doubt that. And all that imagery is still there Jack can just fight enemies that aren't robots now.
Huh. That does make sense, but I´m not so sure about that. I mean, the futuristic settings a primal part of the show's identity. Did they really just make that so they could get away with more violence?
It doesn't make any sense. Why would Cartoon Network want a show about samurais in feudal Japan?
According to what I have heard, Jack will have given up his quest a while ago, have lost his sword and run around in a bike with a gun. That seems... strange, but also interesting. I admit the idea of Jack just giving up, renouncing to return to the past and just spending his life fucking around is quite promising, especially of they do like they said and make the series about Jack finding back his ways.
Also, I like there's such a temporal wage between Season 4 and 5 in-universe.
Kids like katanas! Just look at those poor souls who actually paid for one...
>And all that imagery is still there
The scenes of devastation left behind by the Ultra Bots would be radically different, as well as the show lacking advance tech, since there's no reason to bring him to the future.
>Did they really just make that so they could get away with more violence?
Yes, that was the original intention, over time it evolved into something more integral.
Maybe they decided they wanted a Samurai Show but were well aware an actual Samurai show would never make it past the censors so they worked out a way to make a pitch that would work rather than they pitched an average Samurai show and then worked it into what Jack would be.
>black guy's shirt indicates he has superior taste
Wow dude how stupid are you
Phil LaMarr is a god damn treasure you bigot piece of shit.
I also suspect that they wanted to make a more "animeish" American show, and they put together the stuff that anime is most well known for, at least, at that time: Spectacular action, the lone warrior, robots, demons, etc. They kept the drawing style more Western and there you have it. Again, this is just a theory. I don´t know, until Avatar came along I always thought that Samurai Jack was the closest the West had come to making an anime.
This is all on adult swim by the way you idiots so we got nothing to worry about.
An Asian character voiced by a black man.
Would SJW complain about "white washing" here like they did with Kubo if this show had aired on this year?
Sure, because Adult Swim has NEVER released any bad shows whatsoever.
I wouldn't be surprised if Cartoon Network didn't know that.
All the imagery is still there in the new season.

Does Sup Forums even have mods, anymore?
>All the imagery is still there in the new season.
Yes, because the original censorship brought the future setting in the first place.
I'm gonna need a source on that claim
Oooh.
In the ep where he was a woman he would've had sex with Jack out of spite to make it even worse.
...
That's both disgusting and in character. Good job user!
>BALLS DEEP, SAMURAI
i want to see a really stressed out, at the end of his ropes, lost in the future jack who has been on waaaaaay too long of an adventure and its taking a toll on him. like i want him to be pissed and desperate to get back to his time and just really fed up with it
>Soundtrack by Carpenter Brut

They already did music about a crazy samurai like man, so.
this can't be justified unless jack's in a cyberpunk setting...
Which he often is
Isn't that what Earth under Aku is basically? Shit ton of cyber-punky stuff.
I´ve heard that at the start of the new Season a long time has passed since Jack stopped caring about returning to his time and currently just wanders around without doing much.
Apparently he's even lost his sword.
Watch the comic con panel where they talk about a scene from the first episode.
Thanks! I´ll do
This makes me want at least a few episodes early on similar to Kino no Tabi.
Just Jack drifting into a community living in Aku's world, trying to be neutral but giving some insights to the people there on how they live; acting only if forced.
That actually sounds pretty cool. But I think he´s going to be a lone drifter, mainly because he attracts misery and pain wherever he goes so he´d rather stay out of populated areas where innocents may live in. Unless he decides to live among criminals, quite fitting seeing how he's the world's most wanted man.
Holy shit guys, a thought just occurred to me. They mentioned that Jack would be wielding a gun, a firearm instead of his sword. Could that firearm be the Scotsman's leg? After his friend dies Jack takes his leg and uses it as his primary weapon as an homage to his fallen comrade?
