maybe because of his super human nature? why should feel people any suspense when he is literally undestructable. Why should they feel or care for the character when they know his powers.
Making him the Marvel-way would maybe work but they sure would make him way weaker and avoid any kind of complex situations, hardly any inner conflicts or feelings. Just look at what the directors of TWS and CW had to say about him.
