This artwork was called "War Cripples" and it was made by German Artist Otto Dix, it shows German War Veterans shortly after WW1 returning to their country brutally deformed and disfigured because of the fighting, which also is why the work itself is deformed, unnatural and Avant Garde.

You know what disgusts me though, is that the Nazis considered this degenerate art, they burnt it and only this photograph remains.

Its disgusting really how much European Art and history has been removed because of the Second World War, and how many of that is still lost or perhaps even gone forever.

>hmm I can't draw that good
>I know I'll call it avant-garde!

>hmm I can't draw that good
that's not the case here

>hmmm I can't paint good
>I know! I'll burn the Reichstag and declare war on Europe, call it Avant-Garde!

This shit looks retarded and disrespectful though.

I'd burn this shitty ass painting too

>hmm I'm a retarded leaf
>I know I'll call it ironic shitposting!

savage

well meme'd sir

>retarded

precisely, have you seen images of war disfigurements during WW1? And the remedies they had for it?

Look closer, the officer on the far right has an artificial eye, mouth and arm and leg as you can see from the exoskeleton outline.

the guy to the left of him is blind and limbless.

the guy to the left of him is severely burnt and with one leg.

and the guy to the far left has had some severe scaring to the right side of his cheek and is almost completely limbless save from his right arm.

The work shows the brutality of the war the generation of Germany had just suffered, and it also implies the unfairness that was given to them after coming back.
