Transformers Thread

Transformers Marvel
or
Transformers IDW

which is better?

The last thread hadn't even hit the bump limit.

But okay...

Transformers Marvel don't have gay robots and Windblade.

if two genderless beings get together, is that gay?

I despise the art style from Marvel, and hate how bringing transformers back to life is as easy as flipping a switch in it.

That being said, IDW has a lot of dumb elements, especially humans, stupid stupid humans.

I often wonder if the piece of shit that is IDW-Spike is because the writers hated him in the G1 cartoon, or they legitimately wanted to make him a horrible person.

They all look like dudes and use "he". Gay.

it's queer, since having a gender is considered mandatory under the human patriarchy

but how does a robot have a gender? especially alien, which doesn't follow by human laws?

so got the Transformers Movie today...

I guess I was expecting more meat from it.

that's the robots problem. you come to planet america, you follow american laws. even the unwritten ones. ESPECIALLY the unwritten ones.

Transformers Funpub.
Atleast the Wings of Honor and Shattered Glass timestreams.

Well at first he was just some grunt and the guy who got a shot on Megatron.

But then they went with the "Hurrdurr I havr always hated machines" shit and then he just went full retard.

That said I like his interactions with Prowl and the fact that he gave Prowl some major trust issues but outside Prowl IDGAF about him.

That said humams are retarded and incompetent in ExRid, the only good humans are Verity and Jimmy Pink.

Which IDW writer had that pitch with Jimmy Pink and Counterpunch taking place in the gap when all cybertronians left earth for MTMTE/RID and when they cameback recently?

Marvel.

Looks like they're filming the magic/Transformers scenes for the Arthur segments.

...

I tried reading Marvels run and found it boring but then again I can't stand most comics from the 80s. The constant narration and cheesy dialogue slay my patience.

I prefer IDW but it isn't flawless either. Events constantly get in the way of actual interesting shit.

Dreamwave

Is this a flashback or are they actually going to be timetraveling?

Currently unknown, but there had been a recent casting of a large amount of men "with height and beards" for army building.

Also one leaked photo of Marky Mark holding a longsword.

Marvel UK > Marvel US, at least till Furman took over.

both

Fuck you Spike is a god-damn patriot

Why can't TRANSFORMERS just be giant mechanical humans?

Who actually only want that sick gay shit?

Why can't they have females, males, gays, transsexuals and what not else - like us?

Where is the problem? What's the appeal of a dominating gay-porn-fan-art-avalanche + making female = transsexuals?

This is stupidity.

Because Transformers don't reproduce, or at least don't explicitly reproduce the same way we earthlings do. It's pretty much the question of "why do we need genders if the fembots don't give birth or that bots don't have testicles?"

so and why can't this be done? Why they are not gave the females and males their sexual reproduction organs, despite they are obvious present?

I am sorry, but this is non-sense. This no-gender-crap. I know where it originates, but hey where is the problem?

I could accept that stupid gay-porn-fan-art-avalanche if we would have balance here, but for 100 gay shit pictures, there is only 1 hetero-sexual fan-image.

And don't call it "normal". I am an old, just frustated male, who is just sick in his head, because he wants a woman as his wife.

You do realize that they created the concept of fembots without a backstory in the original series, right? They never gave a reason why genders exists besides the obvious need for variety in characters and to try and get a few girls to watch the old cartoons.

Also, it depends on the continuity. None of the ones that have made a lore out of reproduction have explicitly used the act of sex despite a few jarring innuendos. It's mostly "Cybertron makes them" while IDW went and retconned Arcee's origin to say that fembots are a different cybertronian specie in terms of mechanical buildup with a few extra biological immunities.

TLDR Hasbro made up their mind about how babby is formed, and the amount of canon guy robots outnumber the canon *relevant* fembots and that in the IDW series, fembots never existed because they abandoned Cybertron due to the war, leaving Arcee behind with no reason why she's being referred to as "she".

Also note, don't question why the internet has a lot of yaoi or slash. It is what it is, especially in one fiction where its main characters for most series are dudes who lived for a million years without the need to reproduce.

New comics when?

Next week bruh

Here is the preview of TAAO 4

>only on ultimate collection 4

It's going to be awhile before I catch up

>didn't preorder Transformers the Movie 30th bluray because LOL PREORDERING
>movie came out
>check online
>sold out everywhere

That's exactly the problem. Too much meat and not enough metal.

Nothing about this makes me want to go on living.

Didn't IDW turn Arcee into an edgy tranny?

Marvel > IDW I love the more space based issues and their handling of Unicron was much better than the movie's.

You must mean the steel case
The other one is still in stock

>Not being hype for the Decepticon Raider in King Arthur's Court adaptation

My nigger I'd be hype for that, what I'm not hype for is A Decepticon Raider In King Arthur's Court adapted by Micheal Bay.

They both have their own merits.
Marvel is largely kind of a boring, toy-selling slog outside of a few fantastic stories like Target: 2006, City of Fear, and anything with Nightbeat, and suffers from the issues Furman has with forcing everything into the same old generic cosmic space epic.
IDW has entire runs of garbage in the form of AHM and the Costa run, but it's probably got more high points than Marvel (the -ations, MTMTE 1-40, most of exRID); on the other hand, all the good runs from IDW have their fair share of trash (MTMTE 41-, big chunks of exRID, Titans Return, Dark Cybertron, most of the Dead Universe storyline).
IDW put out Transformers vs GI Joe, though, so they win on the basis of that.

IDW -ation minis and early Phase 2 were far more consistent than the most Marvel issues, plus Last Stand and Maximum Dinobots were really good. But fuck me if Marvel era didn't have more GOAT arcs and one-shots.

Artwise though, IDW > Marvel, not counting Ramondelli and DnA mini artist

There's also Funpub stuff, but it's mostly shit.

Marvel had some good Ratchet stories.

I'm a sucker for the late Marvel artstyle.

>tfw Hunter died too early before Titans Return

What a shame

I just wanted regular bluray, but I'll finding is the DVD.

Well, amazon has the non-steelbook listed, but at full price.

IDW. But Marvel had more gravitas, especially near the beginning.

...That doesn't answer the question.

Which one?

Yep. It made for an interesting change.

Arcee in Prime was an interesting change, Trann Arcee is a confusing change.

Why are they effectively cancelling MTMTE and starting it over with a new artist? Did it sell too well and IDW decided that they cant have that?

It's not cancelled, its just a relaunch.

the new artist is a scheduling thing, Milne hasn't be kicked off just yet.

LL is a more fitting title for the comic in all fairness.

It was getting retarded and bad towards the end, I wish they would have gone with another writer at that point.

Dunno. Milne's comments made it sound like IDW hasn't even bothered to let him know whether they want him back or not. Pretty shitty, if that's the case.

This

No, he and the other artist are alternating arcs.
They just didn't tell him and he found out through SDCC announcements.

Funpub's comics are worthless, but their text stories are GOAT, especially the recent ones.

Is Jimmy alive? I haven't read exRiD for a while, so I have no idea if he's still around.

NIck Roche probably.

Why did Transformers vehicle modes have seats in them even before they met humans?

Check stores
Fye and Best Buy had to both
Got the steel case at Fye for $28

Primus works in mysterious ways, you heathen

That was Stuart Moore. He wrote the Avengers crossover and Spotlight: Ramjet.

>leaving the house

No, he said he knew about the alternating arc thing. He just didn't know he wouldn't get to do the first.

>Planet America
Ohhh fuck off you amerifat, it's Planet Earh, EARTH, not America you faggot

It's how some people get their comics. Weird, really.

putting the trans in transformer

kek

Bump

>Cute. Starscream gave me an energon cube that would have made me retarded.
>Oh boy, Megatron. I don't think you're allowed to say that word. Y'know?
>Soundwave, I'm not disparaging the differently abled. I'm stating the fact that if I had used this energon cube it would have made me mentally retarded.
>Okay but yeah. I don't think it's about logic, Megatron. I think the word has just become a symbolic issue for powerful groups that feel like they're doing the right thing.
>Well that's retarded.

Soundwave is too based to be Morty

That's not Morty.

>Ravage is fucking dead
>Soundwave feels it from earth
fuck man.
someone give the guy a hug

in the text that green is referencing Rick is talking to Morty though
Soundwave needs to fill the void of all his losses with new cassette babies.
he can take all the ones that used to belong to Blaster, since Blaster's not important anymore

>I can't stand most comics from the 80s. The constant narration and cheesy dialogue slay my patience
What a fucking faggot. Watchmen, Swamp Thing, Miracleman, Animal Man, Doom Patrol, The Sandman, DKR, Year One, Miller's DD, Claremont's UXM and New Mutants, Byrne's F4, JLI/JLE, Grimjack, Badger, Nexus, Grendel, American Flagg, Maus... the 80's was the best time to be a comic book fan.

For some reason I thought it was a comment on the gif. My bad.

> Bay
> Transformers
> Historical mythic setting

Its going to transcend into a new plane of shit.

>Soundwave needs to fill the void of all his losses with new cassette babies.
I'm sure that Optimus'll give him plenty

At this point nothing could be worse than AoE.

Some stand out TF stories:
Autobot's Last Stand
Man of Iron
Enemy Within
Warrior School
Dinobot Hunt
State Games (fucking must read)
Questions of Leadership
In the National Interest
Target 2006
Origin of the Transformers (issue 150 of UK Transformers comic...fucking God Tier)
Time Wars

IDW

And that is how we got a Cassette Prime.

Also I think a toy for this would be easy to create. The transformation would be as follows:
>Fold down legs and pelvis halves.
>Flip out feet and rotate them to the front of the toy.
>Connect pelvis halves and pop out head with the slider on the back.
>Compress the sides of the torso together, giving the illusion of a Matrix
>Flip the two pieces that will form the chestplate together
>Deploy the arms.
Simple really.

I'm surprised the fanartists haven't gotten to them yet.

isn't it still kinda fresh to already have fanart?

Who cares! I want my Cassette Prime!

>Transformers Marvel
It hasn't aged well, but Regeneration One is good.
>Transformers IDW
The better choice. MtMtE is godly.

I've already seen artists shipping Roller and Rodimus which makes no sense. Then again, fujos will be fujos and ship anything.

Optimus and Soundwave are my favorite characters so I'd like to see more art of them together, gay or not; knock out two birds with one stone.

James Roberts, please go masturbate somewhere else.

>MtMtE is godly.
*was godly.
Ftfy

>Regeneration One is good
Regeneration One is one of the worst books of the last 3 years and one of Furman's worst.

learn2greentext even more

>a hybrid of Soundwave and Optimus
>idealistic and depressed
>Operation: Freedom is the right of all sentient beings

He was "concieved" when Optimus stuck his Matrix into Soundwaves cassette slot during a particularly intense Interfacing session.

Cassette Prime as a teenager
>Retort: Kiss my slagging ass.

...

Indeed. Also in addition to a cassette mode he turns into a containment unit for the Matrix. Though this is only the case because said containment unit is part of his frame.

This would seriously make for a cool toy.

>Optimus is the strict one
>Soundwave is the pampering one
Soundwaves ends up with yet another Jersey punk for a child.

I agree, that's why I suggested it.

Poor Soundwave.

Well, he's seems pleased with his cassettes. Though, Frenzy and Rumble secretly plotted with and disobeyed Soundwave in favor of Galvatron.

Soundwave clearly wanted nothing more than peace and they still tried fighting the humans alongside Galvs.
