Japanese sounds better, honestly reminds me of Maori but both are part of the Para-Austronesian language tree.
The thing though is that Japanese sucks really bad when it comes to singing. Japanese lyrics always feel like they're struggling to fit in to the actual time scale of the music.
In terms of singing
Korean > Chinese > Japanese

A mix of being much different from all the other main languages (it's the only tonal language that is among the most spoken in the world), of being associated with negative stereotypes and of the fact that you mostly hear redneckish accents, let's just say that they're not very "refined", but they sound decent in dramas.
Also Korean is worse IMO. It sounds worse than Chinese when sung, and it sounds horrendous when spoken. Whenever a Kpop artists publishes a chinese version I prefer it most of the time to the Korean one
