fuck almost all indian doctors - i went to a GI and she wouldn't do shit for me to keep me out of the hospital "oh i dont think you need this" "go to pain management" "i wont give you anything for pain you will get addicted!", i have extremely severe ulcerative colitis and was in the middle of a severe flare of it at the time - thanks to her refusing to treat me (some couple weeks or so after my first visit with her, previous GI went back to africa or something), I had to spend 1 week in the hospital at a cost of like $40,000 to insurance - never went to see that bitch again and made complaints to the certifying board for GI in my state - new GI i found after her, some asian guy, has been pretty attentive and kept me out of the hospital, and though he didn't want to, he did refill what the hospital had given me for pain and it is tremendously helpful on the rare occasion that I have to take one because I just can't handle it when things get so severe sometimes

anyways I have encountered some other shitty indian doctors - one hospital guy who saw me was very rude and intimidating and blaming me for my condition, with like 4 of his little helper groupies standing around me staring down at me while i was helpless in the ER alone while my mom was out for a bit, fuck him too

but I can be fair, the last time when I went to the hospital in january, i was seen in the ER by a nice indian lady and she gave me morphine which seemed a bit much, made me feel weird and i couldn't breathe for a bit, dunno why people would abuse opioids it's not a good feeling except the pain relief, but she was a nice doctor and got me sent up to my hospital room pretty quick vs other times

Things are worse here because people don't pay their taxes at all. Only 1% of Indians pay their income tax in India, most try to live on subsidies and reservation. And the saddest thing is when they get an opportunity to stand on their feet and contribute into the country's growth by paying their taxes, they decides to move out of it.

Most middle class people pay there taxes, only few of them don't and the middle class people who don't pay there taxes are very low to a point where it doesn't bring a significant change. It answer differs for various states of India too. What is done with the taxes matter and who has the power to do so. Rich people pay there taxes to, they aren't idiots. I know many ceo's of multimillionaire Indian companies. About billionaires, they pay there taxes as well. Not gonna lie, you make really nice doctors. More humble than western doctors and you pretend to listen better. Only met two but they didn't look like they were on the verge of breaking down under pressure like many Dutch doctors.

That said, I think MANY Dutch doctors are unfit for the job both socially and intellectually. Medschools need much better screening, and some friends that are one actually agree and did not feel ready after graduating.

Well, yeah. I often have had to figure out what the problem was by myself. I do think it is more of an institutional problem though. Which is likely what gets doctors down in the first place. If it is not life threatening they have to send you away without helping. Because it is too expensive on our "free" healthcare. A more serious problem is the denial of side effects from drugs by all sorts of doctors and unwillingness to grand specialty care. I knew a woman who went to the doctor three times for a persistent flu. He wouldn't see her after that because he already did some testing and two months later she died of lung cancer.

Alternative medicine is pretty big due to this. Most is quackery but sometimes people just want a good listener.
