How the hell do people own cars?

How the hell do people own cars?

I work 5 days a week, putting 8 hours or more into work every day, and I've got about 30K saved up. Then when I look at car prices and insurance rates I'm like hell no I won't get a car. Like hell I'd want to be trapped into another regular payment system. As if I could even afford to add another bill on top of my food, rent, electricity, Internet, and phone bills.

And I have a pretty decent job too that's stable and I'm pretty well off for the most part at 26.

And yet I look around and I see all these kids in their early 20s driving around in BMWs and Audis and other people my age going to work in their cars, etc... How the hell are these people affording cars?

Are they just mooching off their parents? Are they sacrificing a lot of their money paying for these expensive horseless sleighs or is there something else here that I'm missing?

You would not only have to pay for the car, you also have to pay insurance and gas regularly every month. It's absolutely insane how much money they need invested in them. There's just no way these young kids are managing all of that. I refuse to believe they have better jobs than me.

Used cars cost like nothing.
The insurance and tax here is pretty high, but it is doable for me. I am 25 btw

also here in germany we have lots of young ppl driving new cars, but that's their parents giving them a car.
sometimes it's also dumb kids fucking themselves over by leasing an expensive car and basically selling their soul

some people buy cars they can just barely afford, but I paid a few thousand for a used jeep, insurance is just over $1k per year, and I do most of the repairs myself. It's pretty affordable.

>How the hell are these people affording cars?
wealthy parents or criminals

>buying new cars

There's your problem. I just got a truck for 5k. It's got 180k miles and shit will break eventually but I'm a man and capable of fixing things.

Buy a used car. 5k will get you something decent in burgertown. Just be prepared to work on it a bit yourself and don't fork over cash to the tard at the garage who tells shit is broken when it isnt. Change your own oil and belts and shit like that. Don't be a mincy little bitch boy, be a man and fix it yourself

>I've got about 30K saved up
>Open newspaper
>buy used car
>no payments

bought my first car: 2005 ford focus.

it was supposed to be $6k, but i'll became more like $10k 'cause i retardedly agreed to a bunch of dealership warranty bullshit.

i hate myself for not just buying a brand new car. one of those $10kish ones like a mitsubishi mirage or nissan versa.

FUCK ME. :( :( :(

Earlier this year I realised I could buy a car or take 2 years of vacation.

Right now I'm chilling and enjoying my 4th month of summer without work.

Only stupid goyim use the motorised jew.

Why do you think they own the cars? I just lend my father's car (on a regular basis) and fll the tank when its alsost empty. Maybe you can too if you ask nicely?

(((private lease))) is one of the most retarded new memes

I was looking at cars the other day and they seem outrageously cheap.

It's the cost of ownership that's the problem, but if you own a parking space that covers a lot of it.

I ask the same. I just don't understand why would you need a car here in the capital. For the price of a liter of gas you can get anywhere by PT in about the same time, and without worring about insurance, parking, thieves, taxes and gas.

Buy a used Prius

Great MPG (50+) and you can prob get a 2011 right now for under 10k easily

t. bought an 07 in 2012

At least something's nice in Finland. Insurance companies have "bonus system" here. The bonus goes up if you don't fuck up and have accidents. I'm not quite sure if 70% is the max but I have 75% because I pay my yearly insurance in one installment. Meaning, I pay 25% of the regular price.

That being said, everything else fucks us in the ass raw because of them taxes.

Switzerland is so great to be independent of the motorjew. Public transport is expensive but it pretty much substitutes a car. Really don't see a reason for getting one.

If I want to move some heavy stuff I can rent mobility for 1 days basically for free.

I work 51 weeks a year and want to kill myself

Freedom

Consider this:

Insurance ALONE - 150/month for 40 years

Invest that @ 4.5% dividends = $201,061.08

Bought a 1.1l for 14k, gets me from a to b, I've never really tied my identity to cars and such

I own two cars, a daily and a project car.

I also own a bike and commute to work on public transport, I literally own cars for fun.

mfw my car has 320,000 miles
mfw it makes horrible noises and produces dastardly smells every time I drive it
mfw I can't afford to fix it

Used cars are cheap.
Learn to fix things yourself. You can buy tools and parts for less than what a mechanic will charge you to fix.
31 and own 2 cars, one daily driver and one ricemobile for fun

Lololol my car cost 1500. That's 2 weeks of work dude. Reliable was fuck. 150 insurance. 100 dollar sticker once a year. 15 bucks a week in gas. I'll drive it for 100k more miles before I sell it for 1k

What are you, a nu-male?

Get some tools and fix it yourself.

they have a car loan

its like a mortgage, only instead of for a house (which increases in value over time) it is only for a car (which decreases in value over time, and massively reduces in value the moment you buy it).

Also, I bought my car for $300, 1994 ford fiesta, and then spent only $1000 on it since, most of that in stupid fucking expensive ass vehicle registration, I have to spend another $350 on only 6 month more of vehicle registration soon, fuck australia

It comes down to priorities in my experience.
Around where I live rent can be pretty cheap and people spend next to nothing on food , that leaves them with enough money to buy and maintain a somewhat expensive car like a decent BMW or Audi.

Other than that it's pretty common for someone who turns 18 and/or leaves for uni to be given a small car by their parents if that family is well off.

I got a 2002 BMW for 3600 dollarydoos a couple years ago in great condition.

Dont buy into the new car meme unless you hate money. Just shop around at used car lots until you find that gem.

My dad lets me drive the old family car since it's reliable and had four wheel drive. He won't let me drive run down cars that need to be fixed regularly.

I bought a 16k(I'm including sales tax, registration, and excise tax) car last year. I put 4K down and I pay 350 a month in loans. 0.9% apr my insurance is 780 per year. Like with all major expenses, you just shift how you spend your money, or work more to make more money. I bought it to line myself up for a home loan. I just needed a better mix of open accounts to make my credit report better. Currently have an 800+ credit score now.

Ever considered a lease?

This is why I ride a motorcycle instead.

>I work 5 days a week, putting 8 hours or more into work every day, and I've got about 30K saved up.
You can buy a piece of property with a small house on it for 30K in my area. That's what I'd do.
As for all those people buying cars, what with 1% interest and no money down, yea, of course they can afford it. Of course the loan can go out 7+ years now to.
They don't own those cars, the bank does, I assure you.
We are now in a "car bubble", read up on it, and wait till it pops, then buy. Just like I did with my rental houses.

I ask myself
>what kind of a pathetic numale faggot doesn't have a car, and is scared of doing the sensible thing and buying a used one

Then I see the flag and it all makes sense

Blow your head off Justin

A Prius is not a car. It's a mobile Virtue Signal. I'm so intelligent and righteous!

buy a used piece of shit car you fucking retarded cunt.
if you do your research and find a good car (under 3,000) it will get you just as far as a brand new 25,000 car for tossers

Get a better job, faggot leaf

Depends on where and how you live desu. If you live in a city there's basically no reason to ever buy a car. You've public transportation going every 10 minutes to whatever place you wanna go at, in worse case scenario you can get a cab or lease something.

Finance

I can drive a Range Rover for €400 a month with a €4000 deposit.

Also with cars, you're better off saving up around $10,000 or so (If you can't save at least $1000 per month you should gas yourself) and you'll be able to buy something quite decent 2nd hand or a brand new motorcycle.

Almost every vehicle I've bought cost less than $3500. I put about 40k on them and then sell. Have never had one that was a money pit, just look for a good deal on a well maintained car.
If you buy it outright there are no payments, no interest and insurance is much cheaper since you just need liability. Pay for a whole year of insurance and it can be as little as $220 (that's what my MX-5 insurance is currently).

Right after high school parents loaned me our old family van, it broke down a lot and had issues with fan belts. I learned to fix it on spot, carried tools with me.

I got a full time job working 12 hour shifts at night, in manufacturing. Then i bought a semi new car like pic, for about 20k. Parents cosigned with me and I paid 350$ a month for 6 years working in the same place.

Now i own it, left that job and went to university.

>save $1000 a month
b-but user, i only make 1500/mo
t. OP

that's basically suicide with all the shitskins on the road who can;t drive and don't give a shit about your kafir life

>about to go on date with guy
>he says he needs to find $10 for gas first
>sold my old car a few months ago, check up with new owner
>they say it suddenly needed like $800 in repairs (sold it for $1500)
>worked fine when I left it, literally just breaks left right and center out of nowhere
>reason I decided to sell it was a component for the window broke and it cost $300, was the last straw

Cars are for cucks to kikes. They're so goddamned fucking expensive. Always with the insurance and registration and maintenance and repairs and moving it for the street cleaners and trips to the dmv and other bullshit. Fuck cars. It's honestly cheaper to just use lyft if I need a ride somewhere or to rent a car now and then. My daily commute I live close enough to bike or walk.

Bonus:
>cousin works as a pizza deliverer and stripper
>making good money, so she thought, as a teenager with their first job does
>bitch had no real bills and no savings, also no career path or job skills
>decides to buy a brand fucking new car
>two months later gets knocked up
>had to stop stripping to get her claws in air force boy (future dependapotamus)
>now has no money, pizza job isn't enough to pay car lease
>whines on fagbook to beg for money
>everyone else in the family drives something from pre-2000
>lack of sympathy
>bitch starts trying to make candles for money
>candles suck ass, not even her own mother will buy them

I was the only kid in highschool that wasn't given a car from parents. My dad even gave another kid a car.

Nah, I drive 400+ miles per week for work.

Spending only $20 per week on gas while the idiot hicks in my office that drive F-150s spend $100.

Feels really good, but again living in Florida, the low income drunken rednecks are quick to remind me what a faggot I am.

How do you pick your dates up?

I don't have that problem here, and this guy in London seems to have no problems neither youtube.com/watch?v=vpLoG1-jLSA

Great find. Do you get a lot of "Damn how much money do you make" for driving a BMW. People see BMW and think baller expensive when used ones are waaay cheaper than your average pickup 'blue collar' truck

I could afford a car, insurance, bills, food, fun and rent at 21, no degree, and a low hourly wage, here in flyover country. Did I have that much saved up? No, but I valued the freedom and opportunities car ownership provided.

>, insurance is just over $1k per year
Jesus fuck. Mine is about 660 or so a year.

yea but have fun with that $8000 replacement battery every 5 years

My fucking nigger. This is my life plan.

>save up dosh
>take mini partial retirements
>eventually save enough to full early retirement

Awww yeaaaah.

In the US it really isn't that bad. Either you live in a big city and the transport is good enough to do 'ya, or you live in a small city or town where it's cheap enough you can buy/rent close to downtown or where you work. There is literally no reason to own a car unless you are a rural farmer.

Some of us are just smart with our money. I'm barely 30 and have 3 newer cars, a big ass house, and all that noise. I worked my ass off from 14 on, avoided the Jew when it came to money and credit, and only have around 7k in total debt minus the amount left on my house note. It's more about patience than anything else.

Dude listen. People driving around in BMW's and Audi's either lease them, or pay for them outright (usually buy them used), very few take the big hit and pay like 800 a month on a car like that.

IT also depends on where you live. I live in a city but I live on the outskirts. I have 3 freeways that are accessible to me. No subway or tram system. So a car is necessary. Also, I saved money for my car.

Dude if you have 30k You're not hurting monetarily, you should get a cheap 10k car or something. It feels so much better to drive wherever and whenever you want.

>How the hell do people own cars?
They don't, the loan sharks(banks) do. It's all an enormous rent to own scam.

Im looking at buying a Jag F-type. I make a lot of money so spending £40,000 isnt a big deal. I already own a £360,000 house, no mortgage.

Im 30 and single, so I basically want to be as flashy as possible for a few years before I settle down with a family.

That's a myth, it's like $2k tops (and warrantied for 10 years)...I'm detecting a butthurt F-150 owner with confederate flags and Jesus stickers.

GIT R DUN!

21 y/o male with a couple speeding tickets. $6,000 a year

>something else here that I'm missing?

buy moped, no license required, turn on turbo engine when cops not looking

jesus christ what the fuck

parents, just look at elliot rodger

First car was a 1997 Renault Clio 1.2
Cost me £300 for the car, and £1500 insurance

the kids you see with nice cars either payed for them with daddys money or have them on finance(en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Car_finance)

Dont worry famalam you're not doing anything wrong, some people just get lucky

2 fucking years of holidays? just get a carmm

I own a car dealership AMA

What's the cheapest and most expensive car you sold?

OP

ARE YOU LITERALLY FUCKING RETARDED?

I paid 1800 for my car and whenever something breaks down I just go to pick n' pull and grab the part I need and install it onto my car.
Learn to repair cars.

If you change your oil regularly you shouldn't have problems.

Also get insurance with the bare minimum on it.

NEVER buy a new car.

God damn people are stupid about cars but they're super easy.

>mitsubishi mirage
enjoy paying a fortune in repair costs when it breaks down

We junk cars that come in on trade all the time so that distinction would probably go to all the early 2000's Ford models we junk for $200.

Most expensive was probably a used Audi R8 for about 120K. Pic related.

>miatas

How many dicks are in your ass right now?

I need a car because I live in a remote area.
It costs me loads. Insurance, road tax, fuel, repairs, need a new clutch - over £100. New brake pads another fucking £100.
Fuck cars. Public transport is a joke here. Two buses a week. And they go around every little village.

Pretty much this. Only spend what you can afford to lose to depreciation.

>Get 2002 Acura TL for 2.7k
>Dump 3k into it.
>Do installs myself with Jewoogle's help.
>Runs like a new car and is more luxurious.

Used master race.

I bought it for 1000 euros, fixed it up for around 400. I pay 200 euros a year for insurance.
Get cucked Westfags. Eastern Europe is awesome.
Pic related is my car.

My first car in 2006 ran me $200, new brakes for it $100. I still have that car.

Shit isn't expensive if you actively try and look.

Financing new cars is one of the main reason people are poor their entire lives. I've always paid cash for my vehicles. I usually drive a '94 Corolla. I had a 350z for a couple years, but I didn't drive it enough to justify $100/mo insurance. Except for the Z, I've always driven the crappiest around. But I'm also now more wealthy than anyone at my job, and own more houses than anyone I know.

my insurance is 227 a month.

thank you socialist government for putting in 1 choice of insurance that fuck over young people extremely bad.

oh that's 227 for one car. I pay full rate if I want a second insured.

come on, you live in canada, it's far easier to find a good car for a good price

vehicles.wheels.ca/white-2011-mazda-mazda2-2024793-mtcautosales/

Do you have schizophrenia?

Get a used car.

$5000 should be your price ceiling, and realistically you can get something decent for 2-3k.

Buying a new car is serious goy-tier thinking.

>2002 Subaru Outback

Have fun in your SJW-mobile -- don't forget the COEXIST & Bernie bumper sticker memes.

Credit cards, financed, no savings.

My insurance is 85 dollars a month and it's my second year driving.

Those are Ferrari's.. holy shit you canadians are giving aussies a run for their money.

How can a piece of machinery be SJW?
Subarus are great cars and there isn't anything as good that is AWD for that price.

>Those are Ferrari's..
nah, they're miatas

Only rich people have cars. I save 4 month salary to pay for my moto

>Have 14k in savings

I still manage to save when I don't spend all my money on booze. I pay next to zero rent so that probably helps though since I live on camp.

Just don't be a retard and buy a car on hire purchase or anything that involves monthly payments. My car cost me 1200 pounds one off payment, second hand, and it it nice enough. I don't want a dumb status symbol car that will cost me 200-300 quid a month. My current car may cost a few hundred pounds a year to repair but that's still vastly cheaper and I can get rid of it whenever I want

Get a slightly used car with 20000 miles. Half or less of the new car sticker price.

Oh, and I pay about 150-300 per year on insurance, I can't remember. The bike is abut 100-150 per year insurance.

It's just a meme. I drive one, but I have a WRX so it's a little different. I agree though they are great cars, shame what the SJW/lesbo-femanazis have done to the brand.

I spent years driving beaters (my last one had no AC). I bought a house. Now I bought a 25k Ford F 150. I'm a happy guy.

Hello fellow Sup Forums forum posters! Did you know that a 15 minute phone call could save you 15% or more on your car insurance?™

Why did you buy a Ford F-150?
Not judging, just wondering. Do you haul a lot of stuff?

Stop trying to buy brand new expensive cars.

This. I got my truck used with about 65k miles for just above $4500. If you can do regular maintenance you should never really have a problem. Have another little toyota truck I goyt with a blown head. Paid for an engine swap and bought my own JDM motor with about 40k miles. Now have a play truck with a great running motor with little more than $2500 put into it.
