Getting rid of Germans now won't do much. It's far, far, far too late to restore even a fraction of what the idiots destroyed over the last century.
WWI started the unavoidable collapse of European power, and it was the Germans who helped pour fuel onto what would otherwise have been a small war between two minor European nations. Germany's backing of Austria convinced Russia to back Serbia, and as soon as France got involved Britain's entrance was guaranteed even without the business in Belgium, since standing by would either a) make France and Russia dislike them if they won and Britain didn't help, or b) end up sat off of the coast of a Europe controlled by somebody who they weren't terribly friendly with in the first place.
