First of, if you want to go there, go to China first and then book a trip, it's much cheaper than any dodgy website.

Landscape wise same as South Korea . We weren't allowed to walk around by ourselves obviously, but were entertained all day. From shows to 'sightseeing', there was always something to do, food was amazing and they treat you well. My favorite thing was the subway, man that was just cool. Didn't see any starving people though, they made sure of that , lol. Recommended if you have money and are bored of normal vacations (though it is kinda like a normal one, more of a mental thing, I guess.)

Well, I don't know how their guidelines changed in the past years, when I went we were allowed to take pictures at certain spots, you couldn't walk around freely and take pictures whenever you want. I doubt they changed that.

They've changed substantially in the past 5 years. You can take shots pretty much anywhere and everywhere EXCEPT for of anything involving military personnel. You can take shots from the bus/car as it drives around, you can stick a 360 camera on top of the car as it drives around ( youtu.be/XW0sZTmbxes ), etc.

I can toss up rural pics that USED to not be allowed, as well as tech/facility stuff like a factory that also used to not be allowed if you wanted to see the difference.

I was watching videos made by tourists in North Korea and most of the women in bars, restaurants, hotels were fairly attractive. I doubt they can afford plastic surgery in NK.
