When you see the level of tactics he used and realise he is the greatest chess player of all time, then you find out he is a holocaust denier it really makes you question belief in the holocaust. He actually helped red pill me, not through listening to what he says but sort of seeing such a genius be so discordant to the narrative and think outside the box makes blue pilled folks break the illusion.

His play was one of the highest quality. He would see potential tactics and just continue improving his position until the opponent was just hopelessly lost. Seen this in many of his games. God, almost brings a tear to my eyes.

Sup Forums will love him because he talked about how how the russians were putting mind control devices in his chair, he beat the Russians in chess for the Americans thus winning the cold war by proxy, he became a christfag at one point, spat on a letter from the US treasury warning him not to play Spassky because of sanctions against yugoslavia for their involvement in the wars in the baltics, he bounced around from country to country being caught in Japan, and because nobody knew what to do with an old man everybody loved that broke a law that nobody really cared about, Iceland the place he won the world chess championship took him in. Moment he arrived he started talking about how there was a jewish conspiracy against him.

Being honest though Boddy Fischer started off impoverished in childhood with an troubled family life. He lived alone without any real friends for a very, very long time as an adult. He clung to kooks like united church of god seeking a community, a family, and only got betrayed. He just got more and more paranoid and isolated from the world over time. I'm honestly glad he found a wife in the last few years of his life, and iceland took him in to live the last years of his life in relative peace and stability.

I'm sure Sup Forums will meme about how Fischer was right all along and there was a jewish conspiracy against him, but I think the real story is more more interesting.

Like I think you really have to watch a lot of footage of Fischer to really see his decline over time. He went from a guy who seemed pretty charismatic on TV, to believing in some weird kooky Adventist jesus shit until the pastors predictions didn't pan out, to believing kooky stuff like the russians were controlling him through a mind control chair. He violated a US treasury order that was in no way specifically targeted at him, he was forced to live as an emigre because of it. When he got caught in Japan, rather than reasonably believing the US was made at him for breaking sanctions, he went into rants about how people are secret agents of George W Bush working against him and how there is a Jewish conspiracy against him. It was sad because he has to be just about the most beloved holocaust denier I've ever seen and people went out of their way to protect him like the people in Iceland, and he saw nothing but conspiracies working against him.

He grew up with a Jewish mother in the USA. She was on a watch list. The secret service was watching her and Bobby when he was still a kid. It's likely that his mother's paranoia instilled a deep distrust for the USA at that point. She told him to say something along the lines of "I don't talk to strangers" whenever someone approached him. His father, an Austrian Jew, was also a schizophrenic.
