Serial killers

What happened to serial killers? We have mass shooters and terrorists, but where are the psychopathic sexual deviants which paralyze America with fear as they stalk their next victim? What has changed in American culture where we don't produce these freaks of nature like we used to?

They are called SJW's now, and they kill you mentally by forcing their beliefs onto you

Forensics. Surveillance. Internet.

Non-retarded answer: Law Enforcement coordination, communication, forensics, and surveillance techniques have improved greatly over the past 40 years and they're more likely to be caught on the first or second victim rather than the 10th.

NO NEED TO HIDE NOW

This
In order to be a a successor serial killer one must completely avoid any trace these days. Disconnecting is the only way. Plus all bodies must be disintegrated in acid. Teeth destroyed. Fingerprints destroyed. Honestly making the body disappear is best. Most serial killers desire attention. One who doesn't, can get away with it for a long time. Especially with the dawn of Internet dating, Craigslist etc.

They are generally too stupid to deal with so they go in a blazing fire of mass carnage. Nothing to keep track of, no compartmentalization or elaborate steps, no living with a terrible secret

Makes sense. The lack of serial killers in America was challenging my worldview of the West devolving into a cesspool of freaks and degenerates.

Facial recognition, technology, etc

There's a serial killer in Phoenix right now but he's just shooting people outside their cars, nothing exciting.

I think the Long Island Serial Killer is still active as well

Or you could just kill random people like I do. That way it's just a bunch of unsolved murders with no connection, and no-one suspects a serial killer. There's no glory in this line of work anymore, but you can still feel joy in doing it.

>That way it's just a bunch of unsolved murders with no connection, and no-one suspects a serial killer

You're a dumbass if you think that's how it works

there are dozens of serial killers roaming free. here's disturbing audio a dying victim of a serial killer with quite a few victims. nobody's connected the dots yet though

there's also the water tank killer - the guy who killed Elisa Lam. covered up by LAPD because they're work-shy POS.

we have one called the Canal Pusher in the UK. 30 drownings and counting.

They're still around, they are just getting better at avoiding detection. There are thousands of unsolved murders each year, most notorious serial killers slay away for years before being captured.

>kill random people like I do

Fuck off you edgy cunt

lmao edge af

How accurate is this show? Is the FBI often called to deal with local serial killers, or do they usually only step in when they start killing in several states?

Elisa Lam very obviously had a psychotic break, there's no killer or conspiracy or cover up.

If there was truly no foul play, why was the surveillance footage edited?

How is an obvious joke being edgy? Maybe you guys might find your kind of company in reddit or something. Throw puns at eachother etc.

That's exactly how it works. A ridiculous number of murders remains unsolved. Do you think none of them involved a serial killer? I might be retarded, but you're as naive as a teenage girl.

The internet, would-be serial killers are now serial memers.

Serial killers are out of style. Spree killing is in.

Criminology major here. The most supported theory is that it's because of the "instant gratification" that our generation has been raised on. The reason why we see less serial killers and more mass shooters is because the mass shooters have a pathological obsession with instant gratification and lack the dedication/interest in planning and executing their crimes like the serial killers of old.

There are still a lot of highway serial killers out there. Not sure why they are rarely caught. Someshing like 30 at any given time, or something like that.

Any books on that, user? I've been reading Brady's "Gates of Janus" recently and while I admire his analysis of various serial killers, it seems somewhat dated.

so this generation is too shitty to have serial killers, that's what I expected

Since we're taking serial killers, I've heard the theory that Jack the Ripper was in fact multiple people, all lead by Free Masons, because they were actively against prostitution at one point.

Any truth to that?

Yes, I would recommend reading "Without Conscience" by Robert D. Hare and "Dark Dreams" by Roy Hazelwood. I read both of them while in the same class so I forget which one of them introduced me to the theory, but they are both quite good.

It might work like that in new Mongolia where they still use abacus to calculate things.

However, in the modern age one can no longer try to acquire fame from murder. It must be done for the sake of murder and not notoriety. A true serial killer is smart enough to adapt to the times of he/she wants to continue the only thing that brings them pleasure and release.

You know nothing of this. Fortunately in this Judeo Christian God world, most can not grasp it either. Was it not for science, the 70's would be born again.

Thanks, will read.

Yep, pretty much. Most of it can be attributed to how easily we can access entertainment/media. That is the main contributor to our modern culture of instant gratification. (Think: fast food, sexual relief (porn), movies/shows (internet), etc etc)

Because most of the shitty and average psychopaths rather have some instant fun in a killing/rape spree while the best work for the government.

Finland invented phones and shit

If y'all are into serial killers check this motherfucker out, the vampire of Sacramento

motion activated camera.

They are no longer publicized and I fear most of them are dealt with silently and forever

kek
Just stop it you snow chink

There's one in Phoenix who hasn't been caught yet

No. The most popular Freemasonic/Ripper theory is found in the film From Hell where Sir William Gull (personal physician to Queen Victoria) is the Ripper. Sometimes Prince Albert is tied into this theory; Sir Gull kills a number of prostitutes in order to obfuscate his real target: the pregnant mother of Albert's illegitimate child.

I've had an interest in Jack the Ripper for more than a decade now, reading most of what I've encountered on the subject. The simply answer is that nobody knows who the Ripper was and we almost certainly never will know. It's like the Zodiac. Every few years there's some new suspect, discovered "evidence", some book subtitled "Case Closed". We'll never know.

It's two thousand and fucking sixteen, serial killing is out. Mass murder is the new propaganda of the deed.

I can understand this theory but I don't completely buy it. For so many serial killers there was a bizzare sexual element to their crimes that they wouldn't get out of just commiting a shooting spree. Guys like Bundy or Dahmer who kept the body around after death, to do sick sexual shit with. It was my understanding that Dahmer didn't even like killing people, he just did it to get bodies.

Is the reverse true? Would todays mass shooters have been serial killers if they were born earlier

I'm not an expert but I get the feeling most mass shooters are just suicidal, and they figure if they're going to off themself, might as well take a bunch of assholes down with them. The killing spree is secondary to the suicide after.
