No one ever gave a shit about Bush's, Rove's, Powell's or Rice's personal email or any other presidential foundation despite being much more opaque.
Now the media is daily posting articles about unsolicited emails Clinton received from foundation donors, then a meeting may or may not have occurred with no indication it was a result of the donor's email. The media ignores the many cases were donors get turned down, rejected, or Clinton's aids even discuss preventing conflicts of interest. There is still zero proof of a correlation between Clinton's actions and the donor's emails, but the media likes click bait headlines so any email that fits the narrative gets its own story.

Trump's approval rating in in the high 20's. Imagine a campaign where the Republican nominee's approval rating is just in the mid-40's. Not good by any means, but not horrible either.

I don't really think so, every year people complain its a choice between the "lessor evil" no matter how good or bad the candidates are. People think its edgy and unique to act like they hate both candidates, they like to think they're above everyone else who picks sides. No matter which two people it comes down to they will both generally be hated.

I mostly agree. Except that a candidate with an approval rating in the 30's doesn't get elected, not even as an incumbent. There's one facet of politics that I'm continually fascinated by. Sometimes the politics simply doesn't "come together" for a movement, a candidate, or an issue. Things that should happen, candidates that should get elected, they simply don't make it because the awful and ugly politics fucked it up.
