Question: Will USA themselves be using F-35 in any significant capacity too, or will they stick to other airplanes? I know they got their precious f-22 planes.
/mil/
No they won't. When some country producer of military stuff sells some unit to literally whoever wants to buy it then it must be totally useless crap.
The same way russia sells S-400 to almost anyone including Saudi Arabia and Turkey. But S-400 is incredibly unreliable outdated trash.
joining the military soon i'll let you know
Which branch?
I'm not convinced that is sound logic, my russian friend, but to humour it I'll say that I don't think it seem like they're selling it to just anyone tho, the same way as you did with S-400.
The WW3 is about to break out, there is no doubt about it and there is no chance of avoiding it, we just reached the point of no return.
Russia will lose, i am sure about that, but do you think it would be wise for you or any other citizen of a NATO member state to join the military right now? I mean you'll be one of those who take part in actual battles and might be killed. It would be a much smarter thing to do if you joined army when russia is already almost completely destroyed and humiliated so you can march through the remainings of the russian cities and liberate local cuties.
Being a westerner especially an American these days is a blessing if you are at least a little bit smart.
You actually believe this?
Everyone knows it's true, some just prefer to be in denial.
Many people including the members of the governments did not believe that the WW2 will actually start but as you probably know it did.
>WW2
But that started after actual agressive expansion. Do you think Russia will be annexing more land soon? I don't know, I just don't see it happening, at least not as things are now. How do you imagine it will start?
I think some huge conflict in the middle east or russia's increased gas/oil supply for europe and improved relations with germany will be the trigger.
>huge conflict in the middle east
So you're predicting a ww3 based on events that you're predicting will occur at some point?
don't join the Marines.
>implying the dream of every American isn't to slaughter Russians
No. The WW3 will definitely happen and the middle east isn't getting more stable as well despite all the efforts.
middle east is chill
I know it is. But if you join right now, you'll likely be the one who gets slaughtered. You should wait till russia gets at least 50% weaker (=less arms and military vehicles), and only then join your military if you want to do that so much.
I just don't get why you're so sure ww3 will happen. Does your media write about such possibilities?
Not rally. America is doing everything it can to push war between Iran and Israel. America also keeps funding, arming and training terrorists in Syria (though America has always been supporting terrorism in the middle east).
AHAHAHAHAAH
HE REALLY THINKS RUSSIA HAS A CHANCE IN CONVENTIONAL WARFARE AGAINST NATO
*breathes in deep*
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
nah man it's all chill my Russian brother and friend
Are you an idiot? I literally said russia doesn't stand a chance against it
CSTO and NATO are natural allies.
...
Typical ryssä schizophrenic, how exactly will americans get slaughtered if you'll get steamrolled like the little third world shithole country that you are?
Here's another one who hasn't taken his medication today.
Because russia has unstoppable missiles and a few of them do work.
Also i didn't mean literally slaughtered like with a knife or something.
Vladimir Putin is the saviour of the white race.
They're buying at least 2,400 of them, it's replacing the F-16, F/A-18C/D, and the AV-8B. It's planned to be the their multi-role work-horse 2020-2070.
no I took all 7 pills
??
Joining the army, ship in may lads. Signed for 3 years, r8 decision
whats your MOS gonna be?
35S. Did I fuck up?
much better than what I am
I think, at least. If you want a job at a three letter agency afterwards
have fun with that, Soldier boy
What are you doing currently?
0352, water army.
>3 years
you realize you'll just be 5 years IRR
Should I have signed for more? What if I didn’t like it after 3 and just wanted to ets?
The US is already fielding limited numbers of F-35's and will only procure more as rime goes on. The clue to why they are selling so many to allies is in the name, a joint strike fighter wouldn't be much use without allies to conduct joint strikes with.
The whole plane and it's weaponry is based around advanced communication and cooperation with allied air and ground radar assets, as well as other F-35's and even already fired missiles.
It's literally weaponising the power of friendship.
>The WW3 is about to break out, there is no doubt about it and there is no chance of avoiding it, we just reached the point of no return.
>Russia will lose, i am sure about that
The funny thing is there will be no winners if we ever have a WW3.
Becь миp тpyхy!
>It's literally weaponising the power of friendship.
Just like Sup Forums
>Typical ryssä schizophrenic, how exactly will americans get slaughtered if you'll get steamrolled like the little third world shithole country that you are?
It would be impossible the whole area as it's fucking huge and scarcely populated.
Look at what happened to Hiroshima and Nagasaki. If WW3 ever starts it would be much-much-much worse, not only because the nukes are waaay more powerful, modern cities have higher population density, more scyscrapers but also due to dependability of current society on infrastructure. Just compare what a 24cm of snow managed to do to Britain, with a nuked city. Also if oil flow stops to the USA, that will result on transportation collapse as the US is actively using trucks.
It almost makes we wish for a WW3 so the Kiwis and I can fight a grand battle alongside our Nordic, European and American brothers again, one last time.
I'm not a recruiter, so you should ask them. I just know minimum is 8 years
Also does the United States earn?
Russia is our ally
great post Hiroshi
Why is it getting so much shit in /mil/-threads then, if it's good enough for the USA. Surely USA would not want to use anything but the top of the shelf equipment, is my thinking. But everyone say it's a bad plane. At least here on Sup Forums.
The F-35 is being quickly integrated into our military.
It’s not going to over-take the F-22. They have separate roles
You should tell the US Military to get in contact with Sup Forums so they can take upper echelon military advice from us.
It gets a lot of shit because the early models of the F-35 had quite a few problems. Not only that but it’s a very expensive aircraft. But they’ve fixed most of the issues now. That’s why it’s being delivered and used by active units
They go here
>You should tell the US Military to get in contact with Sup Forums so they can take upper echelon military advice from us
Lmao exactly.
But what about the price? I wonder whether it's worth its price when there are plenty of other aircrafts out there that people want to claim is either superior or equal to F-35. I don't have the knowledge to say anything about it, but I hope they're not right.
It’s expensive as fuck. But that’s how all new and advanced stealth aircraft are.
But I suppose it can’t be THAT expensive, as seeing how Italian is refitting their Aeronautica Militare with brand new F-35s. So if they can affford it with their economy then..
Stop corrupting other countries.
Those are big pigs
...
Yes, we're purchasing thousands of them
F-35A - to be used by the USAF to replace F-16s and the A-10
F-35B - to be used by the USMC to replace the AV-8B Harrier and the F/A-18 A/B/C/D
F-35C - to be used by the USN to replace the F/A-18 A/B/C/D legacy Hornets.
And this fag doesn't know what he's talking about.
I took this video last June in Paris
>F/A-18C/D,
Incorrect. That one stays on service. It's the original Hornet that's being replaced, not the Super Hornet. Easy mistake to make though.
Nice.
People shit on the F-35's price yet leave the Typhoon alone, even when that has cost tens of billions over the years and even then each plane is barely under £100million (similar price as a full production F-35)..
They can't even defend themselves from a bunch of niggers lmao
I'd happily pay more for a superior aircraft. I just hope it is that.
are you aware that there's an entire board dedicated to military stuff
The price will decrease due to economies of scale.
Ebin stealth A-10 :D
C and D are the original F/A-18. E and F are not getting replaced.
...
...
Can they shoot down Russia's new unbeatable nukes?
They have "unbeatable" nukes?
>Russia will lose, i am sure about that
this is what people who never been in a NATO army believe
forgot to quote
NATO countries in Europe will manage to hold their own, I believe, at least in some capacity. But USA will be there too, and they will focus their military might like they never have before since ww2 on one single country, their nemesis. I think it's safe to say that Russia would lose. USA would simply not allow Russians to get away with fucking over Europe. At least that's what I believe.
>Russia strong
this is what people who have not been in the Russian army believe
According to the newspapers
It's not that the Russian army is Indestructible or something but it's all about the people's values
extreme individualism, pacifism and anti-militarism are the new Western values, do you really think that countries where kids are taught that "violence never solve anything" and that traitors and deserters of WW1 are heroes will want to fight in any kind of conventional warfare ?
I don't judge these values, i'm not saying that vatnik-tier patriotism is good but you can't make war with people who never faced suffering in their lifes, first-worlders can't live without their over-protecting parents and their material comfort
I know exactly what you mean. But I think when reality kicks in, and people understand that war is at our doorsteps, then they will actually do what's needed to be done. Russians aren't growing up like bulldogs and rottweilers either, especially not those who live in their cities. It's not like Russians are some kind of badass barbarians that would slaughter us while we screamed like girls.
my english sucks and it's hard to explain
i know reddit sucks but just ask them the difference between legionnaires from first-world cunts and legionnaires from the rest of the world, you'll understand my point
reddit.com
Don't have an account.
>first world legionnaires are pussies who cry like little babies when their NCOs beat the shit out of them
>no mental strenght
>no will
>most of them either desert or kill themselves
I think that's wrong. It's a very different thing to have war on your doorstep and living in a protected bubble. When the bubble burst, you are faced with reality of war and when you get a rifle in your hand, you will have to do like everybody else, fight for your country. I learned in the military that even the most spoiled kind of daddy's boys will adjust to living, shitting, and sleeping in the woods in -20 degrees. And that's not even when there is a real war going on. I imagine people will do what they need to, because they got no other choice.
>they got no other choice.
lol
just desert
oh wait if you desert you will have to fight against the justice of european countries who are famous for being very severe and repressive
see you on the battlefield my russian friend.
They basically want to replace every single plane they have to just 1 model. Which is good on paper but it's been shown it's not quite a great as they tought irl.
It is working though, not only is it clearly better than all the types of aircraft it is replacing, but it compares favourably to pretty much every combat jet available today.
What about all the software problems and the fact that in some of the versions they were almost killing the pilots from Asphyxiation?
What the fuck?
They outperformed most other combat jets even with that buggy software, and they're already improving it and patching it. Fuck it, if there's one thing you can change from the ground up without having to go to the drawing board, or recall already produced vehicles is the software. Send a few technicians out there to update every plane and make a few changes and you're done.
aviationweek.com
They've literally just released the full combat capability block 3F software. The F-35 has more software than any jet developed before, so yes, problems are bad, but not entirely unexpected. The apparent hypoxia issue is an ongoing issue across several aircraft types. It has affected some F-35A, F-22A, F/A-18, T-45, and even the A-10. It's likely an issue with the OBOGS, not fundamental to the aircraft.
I like it.
So they fixed most of the problems, good.
