Kim to meet Trump about disarmament

This is unprecedented. Will the Donald get the praise he deserves for this?

I wonder if the Nork generals threatened a coup or something.

It seems weird that Kimmy is being so nice now..

Sup Forums is too butthurt to acknowledge it

Wew, so how long until Trump declares war over Twitter after the meeting?

Why would he do that? He's getting what he wants from the meeting. NK have even agreed to stop weapons tests in the mean time. Whereas Trump will continue sanctions until the meet.

I'm as anti-Trump as you can get but his stance on NK is pretty based imo. This could be historic.

>Why would he do that?
Why does he sperg out like a retard on Twitter after every international meeting, completely throwing egg in the face of the establishment who is working around the clock to fix his public gaffs?
I honestly wouldn't be surprised by anything this man does off script.

You realise that his sperging out on twitter has directly lead to this summit meeting?

this desu

His sperging might seem autistic from the outside, but it gets results

...

It's already historic that he was able to get NK to march with the South @ the Olympics.

He might go down as better than W. Bush.

>if you sit down to talk with your enemies.. they win

not really a high bar there....

This is much more important than simply the olypmics shit.

It's the first time ever that USA and NK are having a meeting between leaders.

No it didnt you brainlet. Kim Jong-un is running out of the cash his father left him and is now concerned about an internal power struggle.

It's a good thing. A Korean conflict would have caused WW3.

>threatened a coup
0% of this happening.
>Why would he do that?
We overthrew Gaddafi a few years after he willingly disarmed.

I really like that NK is willingly taking HUGE steps towards deescalation and I hope these talks don't fall through. But I know that US will overthrow NK as soon as the last warhead is dismantled.

>But I know that US will overthrow NK as soon as the last warhead is dismantled.
Sadly no we won't.

If Norks got rid of nukes China and Russia would have absolutely no reason to not defend them if USA invaded.

This is equivalent to celebrate Middle Eastern peace.

Military action against NK would severely piss off China. The fallout from any kind of American intervention in NK would be left for them to clean up.

>willing to meet NK leader
>praises China's president
>polite and courteous to Thai PM
>tells Turks and other muzzie scum to fuck off
>spits in the face of Euro arrogance and shuts down their metals dumping

He's truly the friend Asia deserves.

Ive seen this episode before. NK wont do shit. They are exceptionally dishonest

even china is tired of NK's shit. they would have no allies

It was fucking France and the U.K. that asked the US to help them overthrow Ghadaffi and Obama being the yuro stooge he is ablidged.

>Ive seen this episode before

You haven't. This is a first.

>Will the Donald get the praise he deserves for this?

>It was an extraordinary scene — a foreign official, unaccompanied by U.S. leaders, briefing the press at the White House about the American president’s plans.

>Kim is inviting Trump to demonstrate that his investment in nuclear and missile capabilities has forced the United States to treat him as an equal.

Not to mention all the random people stating:
-the obvious that there'll be no agreement
-he's just going to mess up relations further
-this is just another step in Putin's master plan for world domination

This
Norks are just taking it a bit further than before because a gesture of flattery goes a longer ways with some people, like it does with trump

Something's going on. North acting all nice suddenly...they are trying to gain time, or something else. Maybe they'll hold Trump hostage so the US can't nuke them or shit like that.
Can't wait for the happening, it will be glorious.

The mental gymnastics of libs to discredit literally anything Trump does lmao

Trump will be escorted by a group of highly trained Secret Service personnel.

>china risking their future on a backwater shithole like korea

The timing for this is clearly just to distract from his (republican's) shitty tariff plan. This is bluster and nothing more.

One of them will cancel before the meeting, I guarantee it.

Keeping america out of the tpp was an enormous gift to china. Everything past that is gravy.

shadilay my fellow mede! *tips* ;)

>The timing of a literal historic event is just to distract people from some random fucking tariff

Lol

This tbqh. The Kims have been steadily building the capabilities for a nuclear arsenal for a decade with Obama (and Bush) doing nothing to stop it.

>k-kim stop it or I'll impose new sanctions

Trump manages, in only the beginning of his second year, to get them to the table and talk about disarmament. This is a country that has threatened to destroy the US several times. Trying to spin these talks as a negative is sad. If Obama had done this, his Nobel Peace Prize would have actually been worth something.

Yes, that's literally what it is. Reread your own greentext and get back to me.

He was calling him a fat midget on twitter earlier.
Maybe wait and see how that meeting goes before immediately praising him for something he will likely fuck up.

As said, it probably won't even happen. Sup Forumstards are just that desperate to act like he's done anything worthwhile besides get them shot in the past year.

After it was announced Canada and Mexico would be exempt from the tariffs, nobody in the US is worried anymore. Even the markets rebounded after the official tariff announcement.

How was Trump responsible for South Korea inviting the North?

the north korean economy is entirely based on exchanging its nuclear program for foreign aid only to go back on its word and keep making nukes

>It's already historic that he was able to get NK to march with the South @ the Olympics.
This was done between North and South. US had nothing to do with it. Pence even denounced NK during the ceremony.
>better than W. Bush.
Not saying much.

>Trump stops enabling North Korea
>Leftists complain that Trump is trying agitate NK
>Kim invites Trump to a peace meeting
>Leftists complain that he is enabling NK

Literally cannot win with partisan retards.

I'll take back everything I said about Trump if he can fix North Korea. I'd give him a Nobel Peace Prize, which Obama really didn't earn in the slightest.

Apparently they have some nice natural resources there. They just don't have the means to extract it.

Which tariff?

It's great for American workers too. Everyone wins.

The reality is he may accomplish more regarding NK by being an asshole but an asshole who admits they exist. Until he gets a result 300% better than previous admins everyone will ignore him. However officially ending the war and respecting their sovereignty may go a long way. At the end of the day the Kims are B.S. but if the B.S. is just in their borders, I think we can (begrudgingly) ignore it.

the dprk has wanted to meet with a us president for years. this isn't anything new from them. this is all trump.

USFK withdrawal when?

Outside of a few empty threats Trump has done exactly what Obama did, bleed them dry with sanctions.

the 2020's will see the unification of korea
the game homefront quite literally predicted history

>China and Russia would have absolutely no reason to not defend them if USA invaded

Huh?

>No it didnt you brainlet. Kim Jong-un is running out of the cash his father left him and is now concerned about an internal power struggle.
Trump annoys me but if you think his balls to the wall shitposting, cabinet members saying the opposite and threats (fleets that were reported close to them when they weren't) didn't sober NK up to talks you're an idiot. Even the south said him being a dickhead made the north come to them.

deceived again

soon hopefully

This. If the US did attack NK, China would just seal the border and launch operation Reconquer Taiwan while the US was busy.

>polite and courteous to Thai PM
Is this an issue? I would find it odd that for Trump to at least pretend to be respectful to any other human would be a bad thing.

The world is going to fondly remember the days of US hedgemony when china really starts to go raw dog in a few decades.

i didn't say anything about trump or leftists
a little defensive there lad

China already tried to coup him and failed, it led to his uncle becoming dog food. I agree the sanctions are probably starting to hurt.

>He was calling him a fat midget on twitter earlier.
Doesn't make it untrue. Trump is old (NK mentioned this), fat (they couldn't mention tthat an old man who eats McDonald's seems to have a lower BMI than grorious leader.), with thinning hair and orange. It's all true even if insulting.

China invades and attacks in Taiwan.
Russia invades and attacks in the northeastern part of China.
Germany invades and attacks in the western part of Russia.

Imagine a new, united Korea flag.
I hope the meeting goes well.

china will never have close to as much power as the us does

>Imagine a new, united Korea flag.
>I hope the meeting goes well.
China and Japan don't want it.

It's not even a political issue, it's economic. SK companies with cheaper labor (even if "helping" them the MK citizens probably don't "officially" meet education standards so they would pay them the minimum hourly wage).

>Russia invades and attacks in the northeastern part of China

...why? This isn't the 1930's, you can't just walk into Manchuria anymore. The single province of Heilongjiang has a larger population than all of Siberia.

China's brown water navy isn't invading anything any time soon.

It's enough to launch an assault across the Taiwan Strait. Leaks from the Taiwanese government a couple years ago show the Taiwanese armed forces would only be able to hold out against a Chinese assault for a few weeks before needing outside assistance.

>Shaking hands with gooks

Trump's sanctions have dealt a huge blow to Kim
Kim had to play the nice guy so he wouldn't get fucked harder so he did the Olympics thing + willing to talk with SK/US

>>tells Turks and other muzzie scum to fuck off
He praised Erdogan's victory in the "give me all da powers" referendum last year.

He’s also on good terms with Sisi and the Saudis.

If there's any credits about this, they should go to President Moon. Without his his efforts to soothe And lure out Kim to the negotiation table , this wouldn't happen.

Theyve promised to disarm like 3 times in the past and developed nukes anyway
Offering to meet trump is just a fourth iteration of this tactic but with the gimmique of meeting a us president mixed in to make it seem more sincere

No its not.

Its the same tactic with additional gimmick of a dprk us summit thrown on top.

Kji has met with 2 south presidents and nothing actually changed

Hopefully soon

You guys can handle your own defense.

They tried that back in the 90s and all it took was a quick visit from the US 7th Fleet to make them reconsider.

The redpill on this is as follows.

Its a classic dprk bait and switch. You threaten war, then defuse for rewards. Theyve done this same tactic since at least the 70s but most notably in the 90s and 2000s.

They have offered denuclearisation before, only to do so in a way that was unverifiable whilst literally developing nukes anyway. Then they carried out attacks against Sk anyway. Even past summits with sk presidents had elements of dishonesty from norks (making the president of sk meet a north korean assassin for example)

Trump has played a role in this. I think dprk are genuinely a bit spooked by him actually threatening back. Thats why theyve wrapped up their nuclear programme as complete and now are willing to stall time and ease sanction pressure with peace overtures.

This is probably no way genuine. Why would he turn 360 deg from wanting to bomb guam and now wantjng kumbaya

A week according to the most recent DIA analysis from 2017. That will rapidly decline over the next decade.

Better play nice with your autistic brother. We won’t always be willing to help out.

Nope.

They shot some missiles in the hope it would affect the first democratic election in the Republic of China.

The PRC never even once loaded up ships to invade.

Yeah they knew their Third World navy would get sunk in a couple of days. They also haven't improved in any meaningful way since 1996.

A country which survived a famine that killed 10th of its populatio , and being invaded has been genuinely brought to the bargaining table by light sanctions and twitter threats. Doesnt something off to you?

Do you think they would last even a week if China didn't give them fuel and electricity?

The misconception here is that the north koreans are even attempting to hide their ulterior motives. We are finally agreeing to meet them because they finally got the one bargaining chip we can't ignore, ICBMs.

Trump mustnt relax sanctions.
Norks can denuclearise then renuclearise pretty quickly history shows

BTW, Pyongyang probably got their ICBM technology from Ukraine because the missiles look quite similar to the R-36 which was manufactured there.

자살 좀

wow, really?

This

Neither of them want us there user is right, if the nukes are gone they'll go back to not giving much of a fuck about nk but they most definitely don't want the us crashing in placing bases right in their borders

North Korea has been seeking a summit with an American president for more than twenty years. It has literally been a top foreign policy goal of Pyongyang since Kim Jong Il invited Bill Clinton. I wonder if Trump's "aides" have explained that to him. Or, if in their toddler-handling, they have led him to believe that this offer is something unusual. Or perhaps he imagines that only he can go Pyongyang. This is literally how the North Korean film "The Country I Saw" ends. An American President visits Pyongyang, compelled by North Korea's nuclear and missile programs to treat a Kim as an equal.

38north.org/2012/08/jlewis083012/

PS: To be clear: the world needs to talk to North Korea. But Kim is not inviting Trump so that he can surrender North Korea's weapons. Kim is inviting Trump to demonstrate that his investment in nuclear and missile capabilities has forced the United States to treat him as an equal.

And why would anyone think NK is being honest about disarming

좌좀 빨갱이 간첩새끼라서

>expecting australians too have an intellect

m8 he is a bushwhacking petrol-sniffer don't bother greatest ally

americans will fuck off from korea finally and negotiations about unification can start

>the tyrants of the world are taking advantage of the gullible idiot in the white house
ah yes

This strategy is called madman theory and exists since Nixon's time.
