The music and visuals on stage is usually pretty generic and sometimes even bad. It can be fun watching the various performances once, as a part of the show, but I have never returned to a eurovison song again after the contest is over.
I wouldn't watch it if it wasn't the international event that it is.

Yes. But I think something like this is pretty unavoidable in a an ever globalising world. There is going to be more than ever available non-american/non-main stream content out there at the same time as the main stream grows larger.
