You realize the main reason this is happening is because less people are getting married, right?

Productivity is going up because more women are working, but less men and women are combining their family income.

BASED REAGAN BTFOING THE LIBKEKS
ROSTINES BTFO! PRAIS KEK AND POL!!

bad post

I’m just stating a fact dude. Stop being a retard.

How do we solve the Enhedslisten problem in Denmark?

I honestly hope you're just pretending to be retarded.

Explain how I’m wrong

No.

Could someone explain to me why people should make more just because productivity is up? I dont see any correlation

Median income FAMILY growth.

Aggregate income is in line with the graph.

what did you use danish characters in that graph?

You are pretending that you think he is pretending to be retarded, retard

>this meme again
youtube.com/watch?t=7s&v=fHm7P4TA97U

is this a serious question?

"Real median family income" only looks at families. It doesn't matter what % of Americans are married if you only count those that are married. Dumbasses.

They shouldn't. Nothing implies that.
Hi tech is a good example. Computers are X times faster and have X times more memory and the internet connections are X times faster. But the amount of data is X times more and the software is X times more bloated. Just look at the average HTML request and how much crap your browser is downloading these days. And the best part, software engineers make the same, inflation adjusted. And why would that change?

>comparing AVERAGE productivity with MEDIAN family income
This is so dishonest. You'll see the same graph if a small amount of people has gotten extremely productive while everyone else hasn't. Also as pointed out the data can be influenced by household sizes.

comparing the average to the median is the fucking point, disparities between medians and averages are a sign of skewing

So you are the farmer 100 year ago who produced 1 ton and the farmer now who produces 100 tons should be paid the same?

>family income
Opinion discarded, into the trash it goes.

Ending the gold standard was a mistake

Now all growth is just jewish tricks

>that 60-80 line

Boomers are literally the most parasitic pieces of shit in this country's history

>1980->1989
So reaganomic trickle down does work.

Yes. I see no reason an employee should get more money just becauae they make more

Dumb commie

This attitude is why Americans will never escape corporate slavery.

If you pay people more you have to raise prices meaning we all lose. There really is no such thing as a raise

Will we defend this though?

Attached: 1520315162181.jpg (1165x390, 54K)

Agreed. If we really wnated higher wages we would abolish the minimum wage

>samefagging

Angry commie detected. Why not go bitch about how you deserve $15 an hour to work?

>productivity goes up because of automation
>I deserve to be paid more for a machine doing most of my job

Hmmm

You fucking idiot, it's your fabled Jews who also control most of the gold bars around the world.
You Sup Forumstards are so fucking dumb. The US bullion reserve has amassed 4176 tonnes of gold, 2.3% of all gold bars historically created.
Fiat currency allows countries to become wealthy without going to war. The gold the US has hoarded was done at the cost of millions of human lives over the bloodiest wars in human history.

This honestly. Why should peoplemake more if a machine does the work?

>meaning we all lose
You are a slave defending your masters. CEOs are taking home annual bonuses which are more than your average person spends in a lifetime.

Attached: image.png (1277x654, 296K)

because economics.
In a competitive market the factors of production, namely capital and labord, should be paid in proportion of their marginal productivity.

It means that the capital is gaining abnormal economic returns hence that the market isn't competitive but most probably the result of an olygopoly / of market manipulation.

Someone else making more doesnt hurt me. Tell me why CEO pay is a bad thing considering all the work they do

You should be paid what you negotiatw for. If you want more money ask for a raise

>You realize the main reason this is happening is because less people are getting married, right?

Nope, it's called job polarization by economists.

slatestarcodex.com/2018/02/19/technological-unemployment-much-more-than-you-wanted-to-know/

Basically, middle class jobs have flown out of the country, leaving us with a bunch of lower class jobs and a minor increase in upper class jobs. The gain in upper class "elite" white collar jobs doesn't offset how hardcore the middle class has been hollowed out by automation, outsourcing, and illegal immigration.

If you don't live in or near one of the orange areas in pic related, your life/kid's life/grandkid's life in the next century is gonna be pretty miserable sad to say

>Tell me why CEO pay is a bad thing considering all the work they do

LMAO

>Someone else making more doesnt hurt me.
It objectively does because that money should be going back to the workers. No man alive deserves to earn millions of dollars in yearly bonuses. No one works that hard. You cannot justify this.

The richest are manipulating governments to ensure their wealth is protected at the cost of the average person. You are so incredibly intellectually dishonest that I am almost certain that you're just a troll.

Who are you to say what someone should make? CEOs are elite people and have unique services only they can offer. I feel no shame admitting they are better than I am because they were driven enough to become rich whereas I am poor

The commies expect work for near zero compensation. Its you who is the commie, Cletus.

The issue isn't me personnally. Basically this result can only be obtained in theory if most corporation collectively secretly all agreed at the same time to pay less people.

Which is literally illegal. Im not saying they did it, or have evidence, but it's what you should except based economic theory.

Are you the type of retard who thinks Elon Musk himself invented any single part of his cars and spacecraft?

otherwise the gap between poor and rich will increase

>Could someone explain to me why people should make more just because productivity is up?

And this is why americans were chosen as the favorite jewish toy.
This dumb comment reminds me of the argument against paying burger flippers based on how much the produce.

>Someone else making more doesnt hurt me.

It does you idiot, they are paying you what you are worth.

He he produces way more than $15 yes he deserves more.

Skewness is expressed in the average, not the median. This graph can look like this whether or not productivity is skewed, but the implications will be different. If everyone's productivity falls or rises by the same proportion, then this graph indeed implies incomes aren't keeping up. If productivity is skewed upward and the top 40% saw both their productivity and income rise while the bottom 60% saw no change, then the median income won't register that change.

Of course it doesn't, but don't be retarded. That's the computerization of the American economy, as well as the origin of the internet boom on the tail end.

Technology is the primary source of wealth inequality in the USA and it will continue to be this way with corporations who own machine learning algorithms and vast data sets for training. Working class truckers and taxi drivers are fucked. Working class factory workers are fucked. Working class cashiers and other superfluous service industry jobs will be fucked. Accountants will be fucked, lawyers will be fucked.

The people who own the capital, ML, and data won't be.

East and West coast skew the statistics, whether it is average or median. It means that new home buyers may be too late in the game. But flyovers are still OK.

It's called automation. God I can't wait for every burger flipper to be replaced. Imagine getting a burger for cheaper but it's cooked perfectly every time and the machine knows how to stack bread and patties properly. No worry about some teenage faggot standing in your lettuce and not washing his hands... God I wish retarded faggot liberals would STOP immigration because we won't need them. Humangroids can all be homeless for all I care. If a computer can do your job maybe you shouldn't have dropped out of higschool.

Attached: 1496679177068.jpg (1440x1080, 125K)

This tbqh

t. automation engineer

>study for 10 years to become surgeon
>replaced by robot surgeon and find all other jobs filled
>"lol shouldn't have dropped out of high school loser"

So what should we do? Literally ban robots (which as well ban the entire free fucking market)? Accept being stuck with shitty human doctors instead? That would mean:

>people pay more for their healthcare
>people wait longer for their healthcare
>people are more likely to not have access to a required medical specialist, or even just a basic MD in rural areas
>people have to deal with doctors deciding they only want to work 2 days a week
>people have to deal with doctors making mistakes
>people have to deal with doctors being the fuckpiece of the pharmaceutical industry
And so on.

You're acting like those protectionist retards who'd rather have shittier more expensive products and less purchasing power just to save a few shitty blue collar jobs in some shithole rural area.

I live in a Chicago satellite county, and rent here is $1200 for two people. Three people plus the costs of raising a baby is still out of reach unless I magically get a raise

this

people joke about Americans being nationalistic, but it's actually the middle class rolling over for the elite the past 50 years

>God I wish retarded faggot liberals would STOP immigration because we won't need them.
That's happening to undercut technological progression, so that wages are lower than the marginal utility of the automated machine.

Guess where else that happened in history? The confederate slavers in the USA, who were too lazy to work the farm, so they enslaved blacks. The only way the south could compete economically (domestically and internationally) was the literal enslavement of human beings. And that's what the democratic party is doing today by being stalwart defenders of sanctuary cities and illegal immigration.

It's a flipped script.

>Literally ban robots
Obviously not. New jobs and services will eventually develop as time goes on.

But, if automation so vastly displaces human labor early on, where will the wages to pay for those new fancy metal doctors come from? Government redistribution? Oh yay, that won't be a political shit show.

We have to be sure we don't completely screw aggregate demand by introducing mechanical labor too quickly.

>marginal utility of the automated machine.
Now I'm confused. Isn't marginal utility on the demand side of the equation? Wouldn't importing cheaper labor always be desirable for an individual company in order to drop average total costs of production, regardless of any cost savings you see from technology or capital accumulation?

And isn't it only an issue when firms do it in mass in such a way that you lower aggregate wages enough to shift the entire market's demand curve left?

If machines can work for the equivalent of paying a normal worker $9 an hour (roughly below our minimum wage) wage including electricity and expenses, the companies will adopt it.

But if they have an option to pay $6 under the table for Juan, they won't adopt the machines for a 50% saving.

Other than the agriculture and building sectors, what industries have you seen that have such high average total cost of production for machines compared to Mexican labor?

>Other than the agriculture and building sectors,
Ag and construction is literally the foundation of lower class labor. Restaurants also, considering they don't need the most astute command of English

more automation will end the rest of the middle class and create a few really high paying jobs. Unironcally we will need universal income because middle class people buying shit is the entire base of the wests wealth.

GLOBALIZATION

IMMIGRATION ACT

GLOBALIZATION

IMMIGRATION ACT

>because middle class people buying shit is the entire base of the wests wealth.
The problem here is that the Western elite have decided China's middle class will buy that, but what has realistically happened is that China has siphoned intellectual property and violated international laws with copycats. The short term profit motive of corporations dictated that some of them decided "hey, we should enter the Chinese market with their mandatory partnership laws" and then eventually those partners stole their knowledge and tech and just ousted them.

We're fucked. The elites of our country have sold us downriver already. There's nothing more to do beyond the guillotine

I wish I didn't live here but it's too expensive to move.

Attached: 1518886485916.png (654x527, 31K)

oh no theres nowhere you can go to escape it

we live in a pretty interesting time a whole bunch of discontented people knowing for a fact that they're worse off than their parents and grandparents there's going to be some kind of big political upheaval or have the entire west become Spain and the UK

So it is a matter of income. When I lived in Chicago some 20 years ago, I rented at one of the nicest AMLI appts in the NW suburbs and the rent was $1400 for a 2BR complete with central air and washer & drier in the unit etc. The average pay in the high tech industry was about $80-90K back then. I thought it was pretty livable. But it is a moot point really because the graph was about home ownership not rentals. And the house market in Chicago was already insane even back then. Then it crashed hard during the housing bubble in the 2010. Not sure about now.
