As everyone knows, less than 150 years ago, most women were restricted from employment apart from drudgery at home and for someone richer. To survive, they had to marry and produce children. Man's world
These days, more women than men are employed. They don't need to marry to put a roof over their head. They can pay for their own home (with a few investment properties). They can buy their own vehicle/s. They can travel and have a great social life and provide well for their retirement
Husband and kids would spoil that. They realise that by the time the kids are grown, their own life and opportunities etc. are gone, basically
