it's a shit career and you're a delusional faggot for even DARING to seriously consider it
now user success is in the eye of the beholder
Said Johny depps best friends/girlfriend
talent to suck cock and talent to be born in a family in the business
also this, actors are retarded babies that do absolutely nothing and take all the credit
I'm taking an acting course at my local community college this next semester. It's going to be me a 27 year old lanky weirdo and a bunch of 18 year olds. What should I expect?
A lot of gay guys hitting on you.
dont bother. you really think a decent actor would be teaching about acting, especially at a fucking community college? take an improv class instead. go to as many fucking auditions as possible, even if the part is shit, a job is a job.
Falling into a deep existential depression and abusing prescription painkillers.
Fuck these negative niggas. You might be the lucky one to get it because you decided to go for what you want. It's a million to one odds that you'd be the next big thing, but you have a better chance than the people who just tell you don't do it. And even if you fail, or you find out it's not for you, you can say you tried.
no chicks?
It's just a class for fun I'm not trying to be an actor. It's like when I took cooking classes, I don't want to be a world renown chef, I just wanted to take part in something I love.
I'm too clean for that shit lol.
Seriously?
OP here, do you think I could get away with skipping acting classes and going straight to open casting calls?
I dont believe I need classes like suggested
>OP here, do you think I could get away with skipping acting classes and going straight to open casting calls?
absolutley. will you get roles? never
post pics
Only if you actually know how to act. Has anyone ever critiqued your acting skills before?
Luck, connections, perseverance
You should have some kind of training. Acting isn't just about raw talent, it's also about repetition, precision, continuity, taking direction, blocking your actions/body language for the camera... It's not rocket science, but there's stuff you actually do need to be taught.
You could just go to casting calls, but you'd probably fuck up pretty badly on your first job. It's better to get those amateur mistakes & misconceptions out of your system in a learning environment, rather than a professional environment
Do you like the band New Order and in particular their song "True Faith"?
No why?
>tats
nah, consider getting an education for a real job
>tattoos
>Eliot roger face
>"master manipulator"
Yeah you could be a background extra at best kid.
Is this you?
>convinced so many people I like them and manipulate eveyrone I know so I believe full well I'd be a brilliant actor.
That just means you're a sociopath or an asshole. That doesn't necessarily mean you can act. You might get typecast as the guy who bullies teenage girls.
I could see you going into gay porn, though.
But I do wish you luck.
are you saying you watch gay porn?
Every day.
I do see him as a bottom.
connections
looks
luck
lol
good luck becoming a star faggot
you would make a great bottom
could beat up everyone in this thread
He fucked up posting his face here. He also looks like a skinny gay Jason David Frank.
Lol is that OP?
Yeah, here's his insta
It's this guy:
>Vegetarian
kek it shows
As an actor, I can tell you that's not true.
Hell. You'll either hate or love the director, other cast members will be tumblrtards, annoying, or think they're skilled when they're not. Be the better man/woman. Always. Scripts aren't too hard when you read and act them out enough. Acting exercises will be fun if you let go of your sense of awareness. Don't think, be. Let your acting be natural as you yourself are. Don't force a character, become him. Try and knock everyone's socks off if you know you can. Embarrassment should not be there when you work.
Thanks guys, you scared away OP.
enjoy being a background extra in Never Back Down 3, because that's the only role you could convincingly play
Thank you for the advice user, I've been thinking about doing just that and not worrying about what anyone thinks. I do want to be the stand out, but I don't want to have to force it.
>N3v3r 3ack Down 3
You have the right idea then. People are gonna spew shit about this and that as if they were all on someone's tumblr, but you just gotta stand tall and say "Eh, I don't care. I just wanna do a good performance." You'll do well.
Why be a wannabe actor and get tons of tattoos? Those could be the difference between you and a job when you're a nobody. And you really do look like Elliot Rodger.
Where does one get connected in this business? Acting classes? Casting calls? What about other extras? But a lot of extras want to get paid and are just hoping for the director to see them for their "big break" so idk
get an agent
How would I know who's a good agent and not someone who just wants to rip me off?
Well, first off, I'd find an actor or someone you know who's reliable, like people at a play. Meet an actor, ask them. It's hard work, but look and see what agencies work with what actors.
There are plenty of successful actors that haven't taken actor classes. JLaw says she's never taken classes before(and it shows). But she has done acting "workshops" before. Every actor HAS to do those.
Charisma
Height
Judaism
Thank you for the advice, user.
If it's free, go for it. I've been on set as an extra before on a couple of big productions and I've seen plenty of freaks and old guys who obviously missed their mark years ago. No one really cares, really.
Yeah, but a lot of these teachers have studied proper methods and principles of acting. They have a lot to offer. Plus most successful actors are jews and nepotists, it has nothing to do with talent.
>you will never give him deepthroat lessons
a pity
I like the song True Faith. What does it mean?
Good luck in Chicago
Why Chicago?
A distinct look.
You dont need to be good looking, just not boring and plain, Steve Buscemi is a great example, he isnt hot but he is unique and can be picked out of a crowd.
Because LA is dying and Atlanta is gonna have trouble soon
That kinda sucks. I'm in Atlanta and I was planning on working out here.
Blowjob skills.
It still has time left. Id give it til 2030
