well that's why it was designed like that, to help the little states. So in case California or Texas decide to go with giant margins to one candidate, they don't overwhelm the smaller states like Vermont, Wyoming and so on.

I don't know about the *best* case scenario, but this is the *minimum* winning scenario for Trump.

He would probably win in the House of Representatives tiebreaker vote. Maybe he could snag a single electoral vote from Maine, but it's unlikely.
