Seriously not as good as season 1.

Not nearly as bad as tv make it seems

Not as outstanding as season 1 was. Still a really good show and definitely upper echelon compared to most stuff from the past 5 years.

A decent cop drama by itself.
Lacks the spooky bits from season 1, which really set True Detective apart.

Season 1 was a masterpiece with great acting and filmography. Not to mention that the entire plot was very prescient considering all the pizzagate shenanigans going on.

s2 was a pleb filter, and while s1 was enjoyable it was more simple and at times cliche, and also had a weaker ending imo

Season 1 is a 10/10, Season 2 is a 9/10

They're both good but in different ways

First half of season 1 and second half of season 2 are the best parts of True Detective.

Daddario was unnecessary to the plot and should kill herself

you know what they say Ray about getting two birds in one stone, except we have plenty of rocks yet we're out foxhunting... and the one without sin is nowhere to be found
