Although admittedly my skin has never really prevented me from making friends, being treated with respect, or caused me to be called racist slurs or anything. I treat people with respect and try to contact myself as courteously as possible despite my slight social awkwardness.
The issues I'm having with my race are relatively recent and have gotten worse after learning about BLM and everything related to it. It is so humiliating to see them single-handedly ruin race relations in the United States, and a part of me wants to do this out of fear. I worry that as racism becomes more popular again, people who look more recognizably black will be more targeted. For example recently I saw a recent news article about a white supremacist stabbing a mixed race couple.
