One thing I've noticed is the complete lack of SJW nonsense because of a perceived lack of powerful characters of color on this fucking show. Perhaps people are starting to come around to the fact that a TV show set in what is essentially the Middle Ages is being correct when the vast majority of the cast is as white as snow. The mention of "foreign hordes" and the like hasn't led to tears. Hmm.

Well, yeah, but even the richest medieval kingdom didn't give its peasants full half-lamellar half-plate armour with elaborate dyes and designs.
And even though samurai (who their armour is for some reason influenced heavily by) would have had plentiful armour and elaborate armour, samurai weren't peasant footsoldiers.

Tyrells ceased existing in Season 6. Olenna had no rights to rule anything.

Siege weapons were typically constructed on site and the show does a lot of timeskips so it's not necessarily a plot hole.

Of course it's still stupid to not have a throwaway scene where jaime orders some battering rams and siege ladders to be made but whatever, can't expect much from this show anymore.

The talks weren't meaningless, they serve to both flesh out the world and establish relationships between characters that will create drama later. The problem was that since everything is sped up now, they forced like five of them into half an episode instead of letting it happen over a couple of episodes. It's these "meaningless" talks that made the Jaime+Brienne, Arya+Hound etc buddy adventures so memorable

BSG's downfall wasn't as bad as GoT and was mostly due to the writer's strike (forcing the show to wrap two seasons in one, with a huge gap in the middle of the last one). Also it kept most of the tone and the story (I mean, since season one they kept repeating that God was behind all of this : it's an easy way to end the show but it's kind of coherent). GoT's downfall is just due to pure incompetence.
