Will Star Wars the last jedi be a copy of ep 5?

Will Star Wars the last jedi be a copy of ep 5?

It will have elements of it and I'm sure it will have a bittersweet ending where the Resistance loses a battle but not the war. There will also probably be a big "im your father" ish reveal.
Basically they will copy the formula and there will be a copy of the Battle of Hoth.
>inb4 autistic screeching shills

>Jedi MC is training with a old hermit master and isolated from his / her friends : check
>Said friends meet with a suave gambling-type traitor character : check

I don't know about the leaks but I'm pretty sure the list goes on

Yes.

Why are they called the Resistance? Resistance (Much like rebels) implies standing up against the powerful entity in charge, sometimes called an Empire. The remnants of the Empire aren't leading the galaxy anymore. It's a small part of a broken off force that the new Republic doesn't consider enough of a threat to send an army towards.

This has been bothering me since I saw TFA

Yes it will be a poor contrast facsimile thanks to mega-corp mouse inc. focus grouping and design by comittee

just accept its numbifying mediocrity now... same thing as im doing with blade runner 2049

because jar jar and kathleen kennedy the dyke bitch wanted to rehash a new hope and force this feminist bullshit, only it didn't fly and no one's buying any of it. Even the idiots that praised TFA realizes it was all pure shit. That's why the last jedi's gonna bomb some where over nothern china.

Same here, it's fucking stupid. They are already in power, they should be called the Persistence.

Unfortunately people are buying it. They will continue to make billions because of the name.

Is that photo from Star Wars?

They aren't technically in power though. It's a small militia independent of the new Republic. They say in the movie that the Republic doesn't give a shit so they have to fight it on their own. Certain elements like this really ruin the immersion for me. The movie was slightly above average on it's own, it's just so obvious that they want you to be constantly thinking about the original trilogy while you watch it.

Even if it ends up being the polar opposite, Sup Forums will say it is by connecting the most absurd plot points with ESB just so they appear to be "right".

Not saying that TFA is not a blatant rehash of ANH, but the fact is that most of Sup Forums posters already made their mind up on the film way before any info about the new episode was even released.

>Episode 1 has parallels to episode 4
>Episode 2 has parallels to episode 5
>Episode 3 has parallels to episode 6
>Episode 7 is literally episode 4 again

Do you lend more money to a guy that has once asked for money from you and never gave it back?

According to the new Disney EU, the Resistance is separate from the Republic, the New Republic and the First Order are in some kind of cold war, and Leia's in charge of the Resistance because the Republic was too afraid to go to war and she wanted to take action.
This should have been explained in TFA, and it basically shows that the Republic learned absolutely nothing from the shit that happened in the prequels

This. At least Lucas wasn't so obvious about it.
The ground battle of Episode 2 could be similar to the battle of Hoth but at least in Episode 2 there aren't literal AT-ATs on a literal white planet, like in TLJ.

>>Episode 1 has parallels to episode 4
i seriously cant think of any parallels except between these two movies except that they both have some scenes on tatooine

Maybe because the prequels are non canon :^)
Don't be surprised if they remake them. There's a reason they have a very "we don't talk about those" attitude towards them.

Leia sees the New Republic as pussies, and she's "resisting" them to a degree

Shit I wouldn't even complain, anything would be better than what we got.

That's really poor writing if it's true. And it sounds true.

> battle of hoth rehash
> dagobah training rehash
> casino planet 'basically bespin' rehash
Yep.

That has nothing to do with the comment you replied to, even if they were remade it wouldn't change the fact that they learned nothing from the fall of the republic
