What does Sup Forums think of Battlefield 1?I personally think that EA will fuck it all up and the launch will be broken or there will be a lack of content like battlefront.

They did it with Battlefront and it sold, the people made it clear to EA the pricing is right and they are willing to pay for it.

It's a video game meant to please the child in me, I just hope it has a decent soundtrack to it.

I think although it's somewhat historically accurate to have black colonial infantry in mainland Europe, it was extremely uncommon that these units were put in high stakes combat situations, American or European. Blacks made such a small minority of the forces in ww1 that the decision to make the characters black is obviously deliberate. The saddest part to me is that the young kids that play this, will only ever hear about the Great War through this game, and they get to here a revisionist history action packed video game version. At least the American kids will because our role in the Great War was so minor that they only brush over it.

There were blacks in the Great War but they were only there because of their empire commanded them to be. Depicting one of the only mainstream Great War games with black characters everywhere is not only insulting to the countries and people who beared the real weight of this war, but also incredibly misleading to young people who won't think twice about this information and just accept it.

France is the country that used the most blacks, with 170,000 out of fucking 8.6 millions total troops (around 2%)
And France isnt even in the game
Instead, they put the blacks in the Germany army which actually didnt use any black troops outside of the African theater

Like: Zyklon B, panzer jäger alpen, hitter did nothing wrong, race war now. I like playing as doughboys the most, mostly because the colt commander is such a good pistol in the game for clearing trenches.

The game also seems like it's going to play like advanced warfare or something as there's 3d auto spotting and flare guns which auto spot and yet all the kids hate on COD for being futuristic.

I will never buy an EA game again. I made this promise to myself in 2012, after Mass Effect 3, and, have stuck to it. There have been momentary temptations since then, but there has never been regret.

The guy behind the game doesn't care for historical accuracy, but he'll win no matter what. If the game sells they'll celebrate their success at having "shut the haters up!" whereas if the game does poorly they get publicity and "feels points" for highlighting that "there is a problem with racism among the gaming community and it's time we addressed it!", then hype it to gamergate v 2.0 but now it's muh racism rather than misogyny. Historical inaccuracy? Too PC? Unbelievable childish plot? All of these reasons will be ignored once gaming blogs and magazines start hyping the race card.

I dunno. A new game that allows you to shoot other people online? I like some shooters, but I've never gotten the CoD/BF love. I mean, MW was a neat concept, and MW2 did a good job of perfecting it, but that's where the game really ended for me. I'd much rather play something like Far Cry 4 or FEAR, where there is an interesting twist on the game (open world or slow mo mechanics), rather than a new coat of paint.
