Why is this suddenly being contrasted against Rick and Morty so much even though it's been vaulted for years? Why this in particular?

I love its brevity and how fast paced it is. So much happens in just 11 minutes and they cram in as many word plays and gags in there as possible. Xavier made me hate slow shows where it takes ages to reach the one single final punchline, which in all likelihood will even be fucking underwhelming and unfunny.

He says "out of a cardboard bag". Eggs come in cardboard cartons.

After watching Xavier, most wordplay in shows just pails in comparison. There's so much depth packed into every line.

It's what redditors watch when they want to try to feel intelligent. It's basically a half an hour "correcting your to you're" boner.

Yeah, after Xavier anything else feels like a waste of time.

It's a shame that it's gotten the "it's become a meme so it's bad" treatment.

It's actually a well-made show with well-written humour. It's hard to get the sort of "work the irony and wordplay to its death so much so that it gets back alive and dies again" humour nowadays.
