Sup Forums vets

So who here has any military experience? and how did it influence your political views?

Why did Sup Forums tell me to enlistt?? They make us wear high heals and march for miles here.

It's called "walk a mile in her shoes" and its supposed to be "equality training".

My female sgt. calls me a "whiteboi" and throws ice cubes at me making me slip

One of the guys in my unit has a boob job and gets erections when we shower

my life is ruined

Stop trying to recruit us, go kill sand niggers yourself.

you can be a hardcore pacifist for all I care
I'm asking about EXISTING vets, not future vets

Yes.
Reality destroys leftists notions.

>you can be a hardcore pacifist for all I care
conscientious objectors are not allowed in our military

Liberalism attacks the parts of society designed to protect society so that a small threat can topple the entire undefended structure. This is why liberals want homosexuals and women in the infantry. They want to undermine our ability to defend our nation to the greatest degree possible.

how difficult is it to join americas military as a FUCKING LEAF

As difficult as for any other foreigner. You need to become a legal resident. You need to swear allegiance to the constitution. Then they'll let you in as a non-citizen (although you will never be eligible for a security clearance).

It's a good way to fast track yourself from legal resident to citizen, though.

9 years USAF. Joined in '07 as a 'Fuck yeah 'Merica Bush Republican'. After seeing how much bullshit the AF does, I moved over to a Centrist Libertarian side.

I can relate
Pic is too

in this case why post ITT?

yes
military service heavily relies on loving your nation and willing to do your part

i personally think most armies are too big and are too offensively built and organized. the cost of maintaining an army does not justify the size of it.
59 billion a year in taxpayers money and foreign aid just to prevent a war that "might" happen.
maybe im wrong,enlighten me

Yes

Army, psychological operations, served 2007-2011

> Did it influence your political opinions

Yes

Made me realize the vaunted might of the US military is largely an illusion and one day it's going to fuck us over big time

Officers are fucking dumbasses, almost universally. I never met anyone above the rank of major who wasn't a massive dumb joke

NCOs, anything above first sergeant tends to be lazy fatasses who like to pretend they're badass

NCO core itself from e5-e7 is pretty damn solid, though

Probably the most fucked up thing I saw was an officer who ordered patrols in a fucking minefield because he had a certain quota of patrols to make each month, putting men's lives at risk to patrol fucking nothing so he could fill out a checkmark on his stupid fucking paperwork

Made me realize this was a dumbass war, no one in charge knew what they were doing. There were no organized goals, there was no end-state win condition, there was just endless bullshit so hollow men who never fired a shot in anger could smile and tick a box on their papers

The US military as it is can destroy things but it cannot come close to properly occupying anything and any any war we wage should take that into account

Also, there needs to be a massive purging of the officer ranks because the rot has set in big time

This. It's just as bad on the USAF side, bro. They have WAY too much brass.

Data mining is forbidden.
That said, when I was in, I was a leftist shitbird. I matured after I get out and was pushed right by learning about the Constitution and the immigration shift described by George Borjas (immigrants used to be an economic win-win, but starting some time in the nineties, things changed, and now the old economic promises no longer apply).

Tell us more stories about your dumb officers, user.

Why should we believe these burgers?
You both sound pathetic.

Probably busy sharting in your commissary at the moment too

Civvie here from a military lineage. I wanted to and still want to serve. But this shit you talk about, I am entirely too aware of. It has robbed me of what my life should have been. I am glad guys like you exist. I was not afraid of combat or the enemy. I am afraid of the institutionalized ineffectiveness that has become part and parcel of the modern military. That being said, I still train and wait. Thank you for your service buds

Ramadi veteran. 0311.
My military experience made me realize that there are people of lesser equality in the middle east.

How is that even remotely unbelievable? Go to Google and search for "Too many officers USAF/US Army" and come back later. Even my last two flight commanders said there's too much brass.

>joining the armed forces

Id have to have pride in my country, and something worth fighting for for me to consider joining.

As it is now, let the dumbfucks who willingly join throw their lives away for a country that doesnt really care about them, so I can live my life.

Fuck off leaf shitbag. You don't know our country so go back to slurping syrup and prepping trudeaus bull you FUCKING LEAF

hahahaha. the audacity.

Dude, don't do it. All branches, even the USMC, have adopted a lifestyle of focusing on blue skills (how to talk to your troops, accepting faggots and trannies, writing EPRs) and putting Green skills (your job, mission effectiveness, weapon proficiency) on the left backburner. I had a troop who failed 4 PT tests in a row and our CC still wouldn't kick her out. After talking to the shirt about how to tell my troop she needs to lose weight or buy new uniforms, his best suggestion was to say nothing and let her be fat. That's the military nowadays, dude.

Thanks, though.

Yeah keep talking shit there lad. I've seen your military, and I can proudly say that they are way better than you say they are. Faggot.

Joined army in 08 right out of high school. Did a tour in iraq and the stan during my 6yrs as a blackhawk crew chief. I loved every second of flying. But all the standard army bullshit is what convinced me to get out.

Reminder that this website is a JIDF datamining operation and that they supply Mossad with kill lists using data obtained on Sup Forums

Wrong, you can be a foreigner and get a clearance

Sorry dude, but I still don't like Israel as a nation. It can't be helped that it exists, however. The US shouldn't subsidize your government, security, or technologies.
Beautiful women, though, especially the Shepardim.

...

I didn't mention our military...our people are who you should worry about. Not all of us shart in mart you filthy fuck

I'm not gonna. There has to be some people at home who can perform the same job without the brass to limit them.

True, but it's a huge pain in the ass. Had a troop from Columbia while I was the squadron Security Manager. Took 2 months before I could even get him an account, let alone access to NIPRNET, and about 6 months before the squadron CC let him have the combo to our safe despite NEVER having transient aircrews.

I wouldn't sign up for the military on my own, but if I got drafted I don't think I'd try to get out of it. Probably too old now at this point though.

I don't use this word often, but that was savage.

Look friend, we're your close ally. I fuckin love you burgers regardless of what we Leafs say. You guys are OK, we'd be there to fuck some shit up if we had to. Alright, ay?

Wtf are you doing on your phone private?

>just got done watching Full Metal Jacket in high school: the picture

Any gay stories?

They'd better hurry the fuck up because I'm ready to die.

Literally doesn't sound worse than doing mid-level IT support work like I am right now.

I just don't want to join unless there's something going on. Sitting on an aircraft carrier for five years then going home sounds gay as fuck.

One time I was on a training mission

In the group was me (E4 at the time), 2 NCOs, and a colonel

This particular training featured no food (besides what we could scrape together from the wilderness) and a shit ton of ruckmarching so we were all really out of it

Colonel was 100 percent fucking useless

Me and the NCOs did all the planning, plotting quickest and safest routes to get to our destination (we had to evade people at the time)

Colonel couldn't keep up, couldn't carry his ruck (I ended up carrying it most of the time), had zero input on anything because he was too dumb and out of it to do anything

One time when we made camp I found him by a stream, he smiled at me and pointed at the stream and said "I'm gonna catch that snake so I can eat it"

He was pointing at a fucking log

I was seriously considering just tipping his dumb ass into the stream and telling the NCOs we should take off without him

When we were about 100 yards from our destination, he told me to give him his ruck back, so he could march across the finish line looking like he had carried it the entire time

Another time we were at a shooting range

One new private wasn't doing so well so our major said "HURR DURR HERE LET ME SHOW YOU HOW IT'S DONE"

His shooting stance was: He stood sideways, and twisted his torso 90 degrees so his gun was facing the target

Funny thing is as soon as he did this you could hear one of the NCOs yelling in the distance "What the fuck is this jackass doing now"

He did better hitting the targets than I thought he would, but still shot like shit

He acted like he was a badass though, like we wouldn't all notice he had done worse than the private he was "showing how to do things"

Alright maplebro.

Every russian male is conscripted, except those who bribed an absurd amount of money or are quadruplegic-tier disabled.

Chemical Defense was what I rolled, and it sucked balls. I saw a rifle once in a year and half of our base didn't even go to the range that day because they were off repairing a civilian road.

Conscripts are used as unpaid workforce, we sleep in tents even in autumn and spring, every single one of us got pneumonia, and some even got it twice. I still can't run a single kilometer without my lungs hurting like I stuffed a chili pepper in my windpipe. Before service, I ran 4 km every morning.

They are right, liberals are subverting the military, pushing the feminist bullshit and the fag bullshit, and if you disagree with the agenda and have a spine, no promotion for you.

I'd probably go to academy if I was living in some serious real country.
But since I live on a tiny rock the size of a medium Western city, ruled by a US sponsored mobster where people were brainwashed into a new identity by commies, not really.

Another officer I worked with never deployed because they found pedo porn on his computer

Instead of kicking him out, they just gave him a work detail, which he used to request lower enlisted and then hit on them/grope them

Got his ass beaten into the dirt by an e3 dude who said he grabbed his ass

(guess who got kicked out)

Highest-ranking officer I ever worked with (a general) visited a base in Iraq that was out in the boonies on the border with Iran, where me and my team were deployed

He was supposedly doing some weird "base security" bullshit

Normally this base had my team and a SF team and a security team on it only, which meant things were pretty lax, when the general came it was a huge pain in the ass, it was basically like being in garrison

What his "survey" meant was: He spent all the time in his trailer masturbating (seriously, we could see his internet usage) and told us to give him a powerpoint presentation he could show off to his buddies

We threw together something that gave an honest assessment of what we were doing

He rejected it for not being professional enough (might have had something to do with the fact that we were also doing patrols at the time)

Eventually I told everyone I would handle it

I gave him a powerpoint that was full of vague bullshit that I had pulled out of my ass, but looked nice with nice backgrounds and photos and shit

He took it and left

I have so much more

I had pneumonia twice and later bronchitis, and I'm fine, plus I smoke, how did you get fucked up so badly?

way back in the early 2000s we had a guy (navy) who never once passed PT in his entire career but kept getting promoted instead of discharged. between that and a second class petty officer taking credit for my perfect tool inspection (heh) I decided to to re-up in the gulf with a bonus and no taxes. :(

well i fucked up my post. good thing it's anonymous

Legally moved abroad to not serve in the idf. I am extremely right wing and love israel, dont get me wrong but the prospect of waisting 3 years of my life in my prime along side fucking morocans who are subhuman scum was a bit to much. Went to london instead and got a degree. My knees are a bit fucked so i cant run far, probably would just be assigned to do some menial job or something for free for 3 years. Feel good about my decision, my brothers are going to do the same.

A coward. A liar. A pussy. A jew. A subhuman piece of shit.

I did 4 years in the US. AirForce with AFSOC (22nd). Out of Cannon AFB. Then returned home and did six months in the Swiss Military.

Kill Every Jew. I thought it before and I think it after. I don't mind niggers as much though. American military blacks are mostly top-notch. The females in the military are all whores and useless

You probably got treated, plus your winters aren't as harsh.
I had the misfortune to both serve in Kamenka (not extreme north, but very cold compared to Stavropol') and get ill when there was an inspection underway, so the officers and contract servicemen (who are gods among men) crammed me and other undesirables into an unused utility room for 4 days. Once the generals left, they got us out back to the medical room, I had fucking 42C fever and was at death's door.

here 6 months military training is mandatory
(or you could wipe old men feces for 9 months)

actually thought about signing a 2 year contract,
but then I remembered I have enough money for university

it wasn't bad and I'll gladly take military training over wiping ass any time,
but when you start to get involved with the military here you realize that the people you have to work with are mostly Zivielversager (aka people who can't make it in the civil world)

on the other hand, there are tons of people out there who would greatly benefit from a good 'ol ass whooping, so I can't really complain about the mandatory boot camp we have here (except there are tons of ways to wiggle yourself out of it)

8 years.

I am not a special snowflake.

It is up to me to make my life better, the government can't do it for me.

The best thing the government can do for me is stay out of my way and make sure the red lights work and the streets are paved.

Army Infantry Vet.

Joined in 2005. Went to Iraq twice with the 101st.

First off, I realized that politics have little place in the actual military. Thinking that your voice counts is a mistake, so don't speak up about trivial shit that doesn't affect your mission with fellow enlisted. Unless you just want to make factual points to a wall, because that's about as intellectual as it will get.

As far as psy-op boy here having a problem with officers. It's simple, he served under a shit chain of command. Once it's toxic from the top, it usually rolls down.

I can honestly say I worked with smart mother fucking people in Iraq. I met Col. H. R. McMaster, Gen. Petraeus, Station Chief for the CIA and a lot of few underling state department types who all "got" what the fuck was going on.

I was inside of a refinery. We couldn't hand out contracts good enough to get any non-Iraqi company to invest in their oil infrastructure. My favorite argument from the left is how it was about a war for oil, for us. Bullshit.

Long term goal was this. Iraq stands on its own two feet. Corruption is gone, govt functions as it should, oil backs their economy. Naturally become capitalist and a check to any radical Islam.

It was well on its way boys. Don't let any revisionist tell you other wise. For some reason, someone didn't want Iraq to have its shot and wanted a perpetual war. The US Military is far more advanced and adaptable than any military to ever reign on this planet. Just because the psy-ops kid says other wise, doesn't mean its true.

Psy-ops were always salty fucks anyways. Get to say they are part of Special Operations but really don't do shit besides make brochures.

You're a traitor.

Another time - while we were deployed - me and my team were on base

It was another shitty little boony base so regulations were usually lax

I was smoking while I was walking, which is a big no-no

Some captain who was visiting spotted me and having nothing better to do forced my team leader to smoke me

Team leader rolled his eyes, made me do 25 pushups

Officer was like "IT'S NOT ENOUGH, HE'S NOT EVEN SWEATING, I WANT YOU TO SMOKE HIM UNTIL HE THROWS UP, WE STILL HAVE STANDARDS BLAH BLAH"

He would have got to sit in his AC-cooled office while I was out on patrol with arms so sore I could hardly lift my gun

Team leader told the guy to fuck off (he was such a bro)

Officer went ballistic, told us to come with him, got told to fuck off again

Took down team leader's name and my name, said we'd be disciplined

Nobody on the base actually gave a shit so nothing happened

Another officer when I was in garrison wanted to enter me in some dumbass PT contest or something

I told him I didn't want to do it, he said I had no choice

So the next PT test I had, I took it easy and just barely passed, so I didn't qualify for his dumb contest, didn't feel like performing like a dog so this faggot could preen about the soldiers under his command

Oh man was he fucking pissed

Then there were all the times that enlisted soldiers missed precious time off because the colonel's dumbass wife organized MANDATORY "unit picnincs' or some dumb shit on the weekend

Yeah, totally, I don't want to spend my time off relaxing, I want to go to your MANDATORY picnic because you suck the colonel's dick you dumb bitch

God I'm surprised more officers aren't killed by enlisted god knows they ask for it

Not even remotly. I'm a dual citizen and Switzerland and the US have an agreement that dual citizens can serve in either military so long as they do not do so jointly.

You're an underage little faggot. And probably a jew. Get gassed kike

I DO NOT BELIEVE YOU.

I'm sorry famO, I have to call bullshit.

Army, 87th airborne, 2006-2012, saw Afghanistan 3 times. Taliban love IED's and starting random firefights that end up with close air support and dead civilians everywhere. Man, NCO's are the biggest retards I've ever met.

That sucks. Though I talked with few Russians who served and their experiences were more positive than yours.
>Bullshit
No, you were in it for oil, but you don't understand how it works, it's about oil flowing, it doesn't matter who owns it.
You only brought misery on those people.

well i certainly kekd

> didn't do shit besides make brochures

NG maybe, active psyop is much smaller and usually don't bother with that shit

Most of what I did was drive around on a truck with bigass speakers hooked up to it, never touched a leaflet

Well that's a lie I touched a leaflet to burn them once

Either way people can compare our claims and then the current state of reality in Iraq and draw their own conclusions

make the 82nd, typo

...

sounds like any other workplace where there's not enough work and too many people.

you think promoting only from enlisted ranks would help?

currently 11B Infantry US ARMY
> Pissed the fuck off, constant bullshit for lower then minimum wage.
> Degenerates back home get to smoke weed and fuck sluts.
> Niggers get smoke all the weed and fuck sluts they want.
> Training getting the fuck beat out of me for some rich politicians wars.
> 3 years out of 4, free college isn't even worth it at this point.
> Destroyed knee caps at age 21
> Fuck. Why did I sign up for this bullshit? Just let some rednecks sign up for this bull shit.
> Can't wait to go back liberal southern California to indulge in degeneracy.

chillllll, roger

Conscript. Vrhnika. '97. Bullshit Slovenian army.

One day we had to walk a few kilometers (8 or so) to a nearby town in full equip. Straight line with a margin of about 3 meters left or right, no matter what the terrain. When we got there our CO said, "OK good, now we turn and go back the way we came". The bitching from the squad was so bad the CO changed his mind and called up the base to send trucks to pick us up.

How fucked up is that?

Noone in the Slovenian army obeys any orders. I guess we're more of a guerilla warfare types ...

dude, military boots are the most comfortable boots I ever owned
why would anyone give that up for red heels?
:^)

It was same in Yugoslav army. Just ask anyone who served, 9/10 stories will be about how they got drunk, did practical jokes, or how beans were great.
Unless you were in the navy or mountain infantry you were good to go.

checked, keked, repulsed... luckily all those 8s kept me from vomiting. How do you guys put up with this shit, I mean, is this normal practice?

Who else itt has done this?

Worked with a few psy-ops guys. Most just hung out at our battalion and were available for translating things like our own leaflets. We had one high speed, put in lots of paperwork to get a radio station, but it never went anywhere. Couldn't tell you why.

I know there are extremely retarded people in our ranks, but I have seen the cream rise to the top numerous times. If you have a decent command climate, where the organization respects those who actually contribute mental brain power to the fight (and not just bitch, bitch, bitch), then you have an effective organization.

I still remember my Lt.Col telling the CIA he was low man on the totem pole when they wanted to embed a couple officers in our intel gathering ops. I was an E4 at the time and hearing my Lt. Col speak like that opened my eyes to the reality of how large something like Iraq really was.

Its what you get for picking the army. In the Marines we would have jerked off the guy with tits and beat the shit out of him afterwards.

I think 2 things would help

1. Higher wages
2. Let more people wash out

Make the military more appealing by paying soldiers well. But then, raise the standards and filter out way more people

A big part of the rank inflation is that lower rank people simply don't make enough money to want to stay in, so there's pressure to push them up through the ranks and pay them more, and every recruit is pushed through with lax standards

Raise the pay, make soldiering a much more appealing profession, and then you can afford to have the low-quality enlisters wash out and not need to have such a top-heavy force just to give people a pay raise

Also pay shouldn't be based so much off of rank. Some dumbass in the army band shouldn't make more than a combat profession just because he's higher rank

Just came to see the funny pic. Who the fuck cares what brainless grunts think.

OP here
If anyone's wondering I'm that murdering sack of shit that accidentally shot two palestinian kids because he thought it would be lulzy to shoot at a big herd of sheep

I never go on reserve duty because of it, feeling guilty

Former 4th land brigade, joined when my father died, needed money for college. Went through the regular training bullshit which a fucking degenerate could pass btw. and signed a contract for 2 years. Young officers were absolutely CLUELESS, ever since our military went to western european style education doctrine we went to SHIT. NCO's were top notch tho, vets with hardcore kebab-remover experience, even had a couple of guys from the foreign legion. One of the situations that come to mind is when a couple of us were on leave and we didn't salute this dipshit lieutenant who watched too many Rambo movies. Grilled our NCO's for hours about disobedient men, even though our NCO's had more knowledge than the entire Military Academy.

>needed money for college
what

Law school, self-financed. My parents passed away and military was my first choice since I was always an outdoors type.

Well keep in mind, most of the officers I worked with were not actually officers in MY organization

active duty psyop is pretty decrentralized. When we deployed what usually happened is that we'd send out 3-man NCO teams out all over the country. Officers and a few enlisted would set up a sort of command station in Baghdad and all the teams would report in to them. This carried over into training as well: we'd occasionally have our own unit training missions, but more often we'd be a team attached to another unit for training. Interacting with my own officers was much more rare for me than interacting with the officers of another unit.

If you want a problem with psyop SPECIFICALLY, I'd say way too many people use it as springboards into SF (since you can get into pretty much all the school requirements for SF as psyop). Good people rise up to e5-e7 really quickly, and then they leave to take their shot at SF. There are also some psyop positions for e8 and officers to go into the CIA, apparently. So the NCO core, while solid, is constantly getting picked clean by other professions

Get a master's from UoS?

>feeling guilty about killing muslims
>accidentally shot two palestinian kids

Yeah, "accidentally".

>Noone in the Slovenian army obeys any orders.
Conscripts.

>So who here has any military experience?
I hab
>and how did it influence your political views?
It didnt

Public health officer at Yokosuka here. It didn't affect my politics. Most of my peers keep their politics to themselves. Only people that annoy me are the ones who talk shit about the president, which isn't allowed for a commissioned officer iirc.

My co-worker served under Ratko Mladić when he was a Major. Some shit outpost on the Macedonian - Albanian border. Said Mladić was pretty based. One time, standing in line, my co-worker dropped his rifle. Mladić vent ballistic. Ripped on him that he's a scrawny shit tier subhuman. Then Mladić proceeded to rip of his own shirt and started pounding his chest yelling "to ti je tjelo vojnika".

If it isn't home-made, it's probably shit.

Can anyone here in US tell me about boot camp and daily life in any of the branches? Are you doing like 12 hour marches and running until you puke? How is it physically?

post more spurdo

Jesus H Christ on a piece of toast.
Did you join Boot Camp or Booty Camp?
When does the stealth dick sucking and power bottom fudge packing training start?

Your daily life is going to depend heavily on what your MOS is

...

USMA grad 19A here going through ABOLC

>On the debate of officers vs. NCOs vs. enlisted
E1-E3 are usually retarded kids lacking maturity. There's a few solid here and there but by and large they're either brainwashed and still in boot camp mode or they're complacent shits getting ready for their sham shield
E4s are mixed bags, some do the E4 mafia sham shield stuff and some others are actually go getters that are trying to make themselves better to get E5.
E5-E7 are the cream of the army's crop, some pieces of shit here and there but typically they're experienced and know how the army works. They've stayed in long enough without getting chaptered so they obviously aren't total shitbags and many actually are extremely capable, hence why they're given some of the army's most important positions (Squad/Platoon/1SG). Go to more intense units (82nd, 101st in particular) and you'll see some highly motivated, experienced, charismatic capable dudes.
E8s - depends on the units, if they're first sergeants usually they have some wise inputs but sometimes they've been blown up a few too many times and kinda lose their grip of what makes sense.
E9s - basically a worthless position. All they do is make pointless corrections and everyone sucks their dick (E8s are like this as well) because they get a cult of personality that pertains to their rank. Many times the officers they support have just as many years in the service as them so they both get complacent and have no idea how their commands really effect subordinates.

O1/O2 - Mixed bag, some motivated, some nonmotivated. Highly motivated guys go to IBCTs, less motivated guys go to ABCTs. A lot of them suck cocks and can be total weirdos, those are the ones that stay in for a career.
O3 - Big brain drain here, many capable officers get out here, sometimes after they have their company command, because they still have plenty of time to use their army career as a pad for some other career.

...

...

...

Born too late to serve under the General, unfortunately. Heard some stories tho, from the older guys about the General's days in Bosnia, you know that shit about Srebrenica being full of non-combatants? Utter bullshit, according to the guys it was a Kebab stronghold, full to the brim with """moderate""" mudslimes. They say that the General conducted that op like a maestro.

>in this case why post ITT?
because you're an ignorant fucking kike

>I'm asking about EXISTING vets
>you can be a hardcore pacifist for all I care
not possible because
>conscientious objectors are not allowed in our military
get it yet dingus?
