I listen to Jpop, but I wouldn't tell it in public because someone can think I like Kyary Pamyu Pamyu or other cringe things, either mistake it for Kpop (what I personaly dislike).
So, instead of Jpop, I usually say kayoukyoku or ryūkōka, since nobody here knows a shit about Japan except for animes/shitty popular stuff. I obviously explain what it's and play examples if necessary, but I refrain from saying JPOP.
