just realized that my regal is playing this kino this week
Just realized that my regal is playing this kino this week
if it's subtitled see it
also watch the following beforehand
> How Green was My Valley
> The Quiet Man
> The Great Race
I went to watch the Spirited Away and Mononoke showings at my local regal and they were both the og japanese versions. Later in the year they're showing Howl's Moving Castle and The Princess Kaguya too
MAN ITS A SLOW SUMMER FOR MOVIES IF THEY'RE PLAYING FUCKING WEEBSHIT
HOLLYWOOD IS FINISHED, HOW MUCH LOWER ARE RECEIPTS THIS YEAR JESUS CHRIST
>weebshit
It's Japanese. It can't be weeb. And the fact that this is running in theatres doesn't have anything to do with Hollywood.
Except this movie is better than any blockbuster that came out this year.
It wasn't until I started playing Dota fulltime that I realized why the American version of this movie always omitted its proper name "Laputa".
Test
Hollywood is full of weeb people though
ITS PLAYING IN AMERICA, ITS FUCKING WEEBSHIT
AND IT RUNNING HAS TO DO WITH THE HUGE POWER VACUUM LEFT BY THE HORRIFIC BOX OFFICE PERFORMANCE THIS YEAR THAT THEY'RE TROTTING OUT NICHE SCRUB SHIT LIKE GHIBLIFEST THAT'LL PULL ALL OF 12 DOLLARS FROM A COUPLE NARUTO HEADBANDED FAGGOTS
It's Japanese. By definition it can't be weeb.
Movie theatres in America are not centrally managed by Hollywood and it's possible for distributors to even book a theatre for themselves.
Madman is showing all the ghibli films in various theatres for the next month
probably not gonna be able to see any though
REGAL IS A MASSIVE CHAIN AND THEY'RE DOING THIS NOW BECAUSE SUMMER 2017 IS FUCKING DEAAAAAAAAAD
THE WORST SUMMER BOX OFFICE SINCE 1999
BY DEFINITION EXHIBITING THESE MOVIES TO WEEBS MAKES THIS ENTIRE ENTERPRISE 100% WEEBSHIT
They aren't exhibited to weebs, and since they are Japanese they cannot be weeb anyway.
back to your containment board, weeb
Sup Forums isn't a containment board and OP said nothing to suggest he's a weeb.
OH? ARE JAPS GOING TO THE REGAL IN BUMFUCK IDAHO?
FACE IT, THESE THEATERS WILL BE PACKED WITH WEEBS
I MEAN, SCATTERED WITH ONE OR TWO WEEBS BUT USUALLY PLAYING TO AN EMPTY ROOM
GHIBLIFEST 2017 MORE LIKE WEEBSHITFEST 2017
Weebs don't exist.
SURE THEY DONT
Damn. Really got my noggin joggin
That's right. They don't.
OK WEEB
I'm not a weeb. I said nothing that would in any conceivable way suggest I am one. Weebs don't even exist.
AS OF RIGHT NOW THEY DO
I JUST COINED THE TERM WEEB TO DESCRIBE PEOPLE WHO GO WATCH JAPANIMATION MOVIES IN MOVIE THEATERS BUT ARENT JAPANESE
IE (You)
That's not what weeb means.
WHO WOULD KNOW BETTER THAN A WEEB
DEFINE WEEB, WEEB
This is from GKIDS promoting these in theaters. They've been doing this as part of a series earlier in the summer too. This is an arthouse thing that has fuck-all to do with Hollywood or box office.
Since you are accusing people of being weebs you have the responsibility to know what the term means.
I'LL USE WEEB IN A SENTENCE TO HELP YOU UNDERSTAND
GHIBLIFEST 2017 IS ATTENDED EXCLUSIVELY BY WEEBS
GKIDS = WEEBS
Weebs don't exist.
Most of the GKIDS library is animated stuff from Europe. They picked up the Ghibli rights because Disney got bored with them.
>GKIDS = WEEBS
This is the most accessible stuff GKIDS has; weebs and even normies like and have nostalgia for classic Ghibli. It's a lot more accessible than actually niche stuff like Secret of Kells and Boy and the World.
Sunday matinee is dub, Monday night is sub. At least at my Century.
Gonna watch this with my girlfriend, twice.
In Japanese and in English.
This was her first Ghibli film and it's one of our favorites.
I was already a fan of Ghibli films even when I was a young kid.
She was introduced to this film after we first watched the DVD of Treasure Planet when we were 14, which we were really anticipating because we wanted to revisit the memories of our first movie date, which was Treasure Planet in IMAX just a few months prior.
Laputa: Castle in the Sky was one of the trailers on the DVD and VHS of Treasure Planet.
She really wanted to check Laputa: Castle in the Sky out, especially since I told her that it's better than the trailer makes you expect.
She loved it and she became a Ghibli fan, saying that she loves the overall quirkiness, emotion and awesomeness of their films.
NausicaƤ of the Valley of the Wind is my first Ghibli film, by the way.
the spanish version is a real problem. Parents just run the fuck away and it's difficult for myself to watch it dubbed. In japanese the accent is in the "a", i wish they could directed the dub better and do the same.
