I can't remmeber the name of it, I remember Bad Movie Beatdown (a Z-list movie review site covered it).
Had Liam Nesson hunting down Pierce Brosson and his posse, because Brosnon as a Union Soldier had burned down his plantation during the civil war and accidently killed his children in the fires. Nesson has a scene where he quaterizes a wound with a red hot knife and later on drops the knife onto a guys head from a tree to kill someone.
Something Falls... Ah ha! Seraphim Falls
you just posted the best one op
Great Silence, Hateful 8, and Django Unchained are the only westerns I now.
The original Django from 1966 was originaly suppose to take place in a snowy winter setting, but was changed to mud due to the lower budget.

The Hateful Eight and Django Unchained, but if you want a really good western you want Pale Rider.

I remember in elementary school I watched a movie about the donner party. I can't remember what the movie was called, but watch something about it.
Day of the outlaw, one of the main influence on hateful eight alongside the thing
A Pistol for Ringo. It's a Christmas Western even.
Both versions of True Grit.
Wasn't Unforgiven set during winter?
