it would have passed last year but harper said he wouldn't sign it until it had agreement from all the nations. there are still visa issues.
Jacob Cox
It wont pass until every nation in the EU signs off on it.
Blake Martin
I don't support a free trade agreement with the EU, we should place sanctions and block trade with the EU because they threatened to place sanctions against us for retaliating against the Spanish aggression. We need to massively increase our armed forces to a minimum of 2 million men and prepare for an attack from Europe when they will inventively claim we are committing human rights violations against the natives (like the UN claims) so that we may defend our sovereignty.
Evan Sanchez
Spanish Aggression? Never heard of it. And an EU invasion is about as far fetched as it gets. I agree we should increase the size and strength of the military, but not out of fear of the EU, for our own sake.
The EU is a huge economic block, and although they aren't nearly as important to us as the US, closer economic ties would benefit both sides. Better than China honestly
Jacob Rogers
Minimum of 18 operating super carriers that are also ice breakers and tanker that hold and launch Canada's new nuclear arsenal.
There are three trading behemoths in the world. One is titanic in size but tends to stick to itself aka the EU, one is CHAIYNA and it does whatever, making shitty steel and cars, and one is the shadow of the colossus in which we lice; the States. We already dealt with one, we fit perfectly into The States markets compete fine, keep our markets and can be generally stable in a nation literally 10-12x the size of ours for all intents and purposes.
Opening free trade with Europe would NOW mean we have to readjust our markets because other than commodities they don't have anything we want. I mean for fucks sake the only reason we make so many cars and jets for the States is that we can do it competitively and they can be shipped from so close. Europe would see us as an open market and have a field day out competing our industries because THEIR industries don't have the same NAFTA terms ours do. They subsidize the shit out of their industries, if it came down to it as it stands European industries could probably outcompete American industry in more ways than many believe because the States doesn't subsidize.
So no, oppening up free trade with the entire EU? Hopefully not in a million years. A few countries like the U.K, and small markets we can compete in like the baltics and non-poland slavic nations sure.

The spaniards invaded Canada, questions our borders and ignored warnings when they claimed our waters as their own during the Turbot wars. Germany and the EU (excluding Britain and Ireland) supported the spaniards in their deceleration of war and proposed sanctions against Canada which Britain and Ireland rejected. The EU needs to be destroyed, Brussels and Berlin must be flattened and bombed until not a single grain of sand can be built on. They have done nothing but threaten Canada, they claim we are committing human rights violations against the natives, claim we are inhumane with the seal hunt and banned seal products, claim we are destroying the environment by digging for oil (yet the Arabs aren't?) they hate Canada, they want to see us fail. Germany has even recently proposed requiring Canadians need a visa to visit the UK. We need to eliminate the EU and destroy Germany and Belgium. Belgium should be absorbed by the Netherlands and Germany split back to the old duchies and kingdoms.
Christian Sanders
No and we're probably gonna referendum it because of ISDS. It'll be probs be ignored afterwards but hey nothing more fun than fucking around with the public image of politicians
Jonathan Harris
The EU says the same about us, that if they were to open up trade to Canada, that their industries wouldn't be able to compete because our economy is 3x less regulated than the EU zone. They also argue that Canada would be a middle man for American goods making their way freely into EU markets which is their boogeyman.
Andrew Ward

Joshua Butler
That's fairly true though, but Canadian goods would not outcompete European goods. The fact that Germany, France, and the lower countries (Netherlands, Belgium, Lux) can all outcompete us in their own markets with their own goods that are the same things we make means that we're not going to outcompete Germany, France, Italy, or the lower countries in Spanish, Polish, Scandinavian, or the balkins.
Luke Perry
No, I'm from Toronto. I just care about this country including the poorest regions in the East. Canada's fishing industry should be enough to sustain ourselves, foreign fish threatens our country. Those fisherman trying to sabotage our industry should have been executed on the spot as a warning to the EU that we will not tolerate anyone questions our borders.
Mason Rodriguez
Canada's bit of a meme country.
I mean the EU should just focus on the US trade agreement, you kind of practically have Canada involved by proxy in that anyway considering just how much connected and dependent on the US Canada is.
Isaac Scott
I'm from the Maritimes myself. I genuinely don't believe that CETA would have a drastically negative effect on our fishing industry. The fact that our industries are less regulated gives us so much leverage in terms of trans-Atlantic competition.
Nolan Price
I dare you to try and negotiate with the eu. No deal will be struck anyway since nobody working for the eu has actual experience in this field, nothing but a bunch of amateurs
Joseph Gomez
You know what the worst part is? Everyone assumes we're so desperate on the U.S for stuff yet we run an export import surplus. Which means if we stopped importing stuff altogether we would just buy it from someone else.
Though, don't now come at me with "Yeah but they buy all your stuff". It's significantly harder to buy from someone else than sell. People are always looking to buy but never to sell.
Jayden Myers
If I remember correctly the biggest boogeyman in CETA was companies being able to sue for "lost profit"
Nice to see my country wasn't a total cuck for once
Mason Jackson
I would support free trade with Ireland and Britain, you should just wipe your ass with the EU constitution and ignore whatever they say. What's the worst that will happen? Another Dresden maybe but it can only benefit us
Oliver Anderson
>What's the worst that will happen?
Our politicians would lose their EU paycheck.
So basically we're never gonna leave the EU
Jaxon Rivera
It's disgusting how much corruption there is in the EU, typical of a system run by the Germans.
Cooper Davis
paying people for their job isn't considered corruption
Landon Reed
>yes goy, being bribed to stay in this corrupt union is not corruption. Don't worry goy your politicians have your best interest, always trust your government
