I tried to get into it but the first episode was all about pig fucking.

First season isn't very good. It gets a lot better in season 2 and 3.

In any case, 3 couldn't hold the alien as a host for long. Only symbiots can do that, which was why 2 was critical in being taken over.

I'm not liking the direction the show is going. I don't want to deal with interdimensional aliens who possess bodies. I much prefered the semi-original idea of corporate warfare as the backdrop for the show. The writers can't just let the aliens roam around in the background while the crew does something else, and I'm afraid it will consume every plotline and episode next season.
