You're basically right. German immigrants used the schnitzel method on tough cuts of beef in Texas which became known as chicken fried steak.

BLANCO RECESIVO
Actually the first breaded cutlets comes from our original recipe, developed by us AMERINDIANS.
We used wild boar meat and the breading done with corn flour (corn, another product the AMERINDIANS should be thanked for)
We also topped it with tomato (another AMERINDIAN crop)
Many countries have mimicked and have been influenced by our original recipe, especially after the discovery of America. But the true and first breaded cutlets belong to the AMERINDIANS (Argentinians)
So don't go around appropriating our culture. It is DISRESPECTFUL.
Schnitzel is one of the most common daily foods here, but it's chicken instead of pork or veal. I had beef schnitzel a few times but never the original kind.
i wouldn't laugh if i was you, because supposedly it's only a schnitzel if it's a "milanesa de chancho"
in South America any animal cut is good for milanesa
