>Movie about the dark side of pornography >Protagonist is a drug using, murderer hedonist >Surrounded by people who are plagued by misfortune >Every character slowly spirals into madness, even the black guy goes back to his sinister roots >AYY LETS MAKE A GOOD, HAPPY ENDING
What the fuck was up with that? A bad ending would have been so much better. It's a good movie in my opnion, but the ending was horrible.
this movie shined as a period piece more than anything enjoy it for what it is, you're probably not getting this style from PTA again
Kevin Moore
sorry, who does he murder?
Adam Foster
Was it really a happy ending? Dirk is reduced to essentially a talking penis.
Lucas Green
My bad, I was confused with the other guy. He was an accomplice however.
He gets back together with his pal Jack and continues doing what he loved,
Luis Gonzalez
If you think it was a happy ending you didn't get the message of the film.
Ethan Jones
Care to explain it?
Daniel Clark
>boogie nights >happy ending
That's not how i remember it
William Richardson
>dark side of pornography blacked.com
Brayden Garcia
This was my analysis too. After everything he's left alone, staring at his dick, telling himself he's a star.
Caleb Gomez
PTA wants you to sympathize with whores and degenerates. He did the same in magnolia
Thomas Butler
The actual guy that he was based off of ended up getting AIDs in the 80s which makes the ending seem far more bleak
Jack Morris
How is Dirk a murderer? They are actually very fortunate, only a couple are truly self destructive. Buck tries alternative routes to a normal life yet his past doesn't permit him. He has no part in the robbery.
The happy ending was a return to the happy beginning. Doing porn wasn't acceptable to their real family, so they became each other's family.
Carter Cox
Dude the movie was dark as fuck right before the ending, did you really want to end it on that much of a depressing note?
Besides the ending mostly shows that they are a family, despite being broken individuals.
Angel Miller
Boogie Nights has the best coke scene cinema dare i say cokekino
Eli Lee
>>AYY LETS MAKE A GOOD, HAPPY ENDING
You believe that it's a happy ending, after everything you have just seen? At that point maybe it was. It just speaks to how naive you are, to think it's going to be all sunshine and lollipops from then on.
Charles Rodriguez
I wish they made more films like this nowadays now it's all capeshit and shlock
Luis Hall
The Colonel was the only true bad guy in the film. It's implied that he was making child pornography. The young girl that ODs was probably how he was caught.
Kayden Flores
the ending isnt happy
they only have each other, and they are trapped in their miserable, fading existence.
Blake Butler
>You believe that it's a happy ending, after everything you have just seen? At that point maybe it was. It just speaks to how naive you are, to think it's going to be all sunshine and lollipops from then on this
OP, neck yourself, you retard
Brody Sanders
I was blazed when I watched this for the first time. In that mindset, the gay prostitute scene was the darkest thing ever in cinema.
Jackson Jones
Hollywood pretty much mandates happy endings
Lucas Reed
The inability of people to understand simple things is very, very sad.
The ending of this film is not happy. The character has learned nothing, he's alone in a room and his dick is the only thing that matters for him. Elsewhere in the house certain lines echo earlier moments in the film indicating that things are just repeating, their world is tiny and incapable of change, they are stuck on certain tracks and will almost surely face more future miseries.
There is no happiness to the ending unless you're incapable of detecting irony.
Ayden Myers
id rather see a movie about the guy they tried to rob than watch this again
Ian Rodriguez
What is Inherent Vice?
Aaron Russell
>Rollergirl will never permanently fuck up your face by stomping it in repeatedly When will it ever end, bros?
>"He [Eddie Nash] was an awful man... John told me he used to leave the bathrooms without toilet paper, then offer the young women cocaine if they'd lick his ass clean." [5]
shiggy
Wyatt Long
Boogie Nights is basically a comedy. Theres some dark stuff but the majority of this movie is pure comedy
Mason Cooper
The drug deal ripoff scene is one of the best scenes in anything ever.
Samuel Baker
Unwatchable shit and PTA is one of my favorite directors
you must be very young or have seen very few films.
Joseph Hughes
You must have shit taste, and are not a true kinossieur.
Matthew Sanchez
what was the purpose of Don Cheadle's character, he contributed literally nothing to the plot outside of minor comic relief
Bentley Moore
ya know what, sometimes it's okay to have characters that aren't super significant. they have a name, did you know? minor characters. yep. that's what they are! the more you know!
>HERLA HALLA JESSIE'S GIRRRRRLLL >YOU FINNA HANNA JESSIE'S GIRRRRRRRLLL yeah the soundtrack is pretty good
Xavier Ortiz
>Another officer commented, upon hearing of Launius' death, "I suppose they won't need many pall bearers". When asked to elaborate, the policeman explained: "A trash can only has two handles".
Jack Lee
Dirk is incapable of doing any other line of work and will most likely die from AIDS.
Jaxon Cruz
Will Mark Wahlberg ever top this role? He was God tier in this movie but nowadays he settles for shitty action and comedy movies
Landon Bennett
I'd never let my guard down for some two-dollar whore. In fact, you know what I'd do to her? I'd take off her rollerblades, tie up the laces. and throw them at a telephone line.
Brandon Bailey
>happy ending retard
Parker Nguyen
They're rollerSKATES asslord, big difference.
Jason Howard
Rollerblades, rollerskates, I don't give a shit I'm throwing them at a telephone line and there's nothing that whore can do to stop me.
Noah Bennett
You got the touch
Bentley Allen
you got the powwwwweeeerrrrrrrr!
Camden Sullivan
Say that to my face, fgt.
Isaiah Ross
I liked that scene and it fit the film but somehow I wish they would've made a scene repeating wonderland murders. That was some brutal lowlife business
Nathaniel Ramirez
Surprisingly John C. Reilly will go down in history as the actor who starred in the most kino.
Nicholas Brown
It's a part of the 80s that's misrepresented imo. It's seedy and gritty af, plus there was music that mirrored it perfectly and shoved it's irony down your throat.
It's like 80s America was ashamed of itself and produced a sugary sweet mask to wear around.
Isaac Morgan
not him but... dirk wasnt the brightest tool in the shed he kinda knew it deep inside but he had his dreams, only his dreams, no family support, no home at one point, no love, no money...oh and a big dick, he becomes a very famous porn actor of course, boom new house new car new friends new career, he wants to be a singer a serious actor,he cant accept the fact that hes not talented enough , the porn director "jack" had the same problem, in the end jack finds peace in his own little porn world with a thankful and optimistic point of view and dirk finally accept that hes just a big penis (not as good as jack, kinda apathetic if u ask me), trying to be professional and shit.
pardon for my english, isnt my 1st language
Jaxson Bailey
>Movie about the dark side of pornography Does porn even have a non-dark side?
Grayson Jones
Even as a daily weed smoker comments like this just piss me off. No one gives a shit what you were doing before or after you watched it.
Alexander Barnes
He's a good actor, and he doesn't upstage the real talent. That's why directors love him
