Equal is a strong word. There are differences between Asians and Europeans, and each race seems to have their strengths and weaknesses.
Most people have probably heard this before, but I think Asians are better at focusing and concentrating, and they might have a slight edge in IQ as well. However, they lack the ability to innovate and aren't as experimental as white people.
I feel whites have achieved the perfect balance of traits. We have a high intelligence and have more or less created the modern, stable, peaceful society. We're good at everything we do, whether it's science, war, art, trade, politics or exploration. Compared to Asians, we have a slightly higher crime rate. However, I think this is caused by the same trait that has made us so successful. While Asians act like machines that do what they're told, the slight wild streak that the white man has is what makes him explore the world, rebel against established dogma and revolutionize warfare, science, art and philosophy.
Blacks are at the opposite side of the spectrum. They lack the intelligence of whites and Asians, but have 100% of the wild streak. They have absolutely no inhibitions, which is why they're so violent, loud and impulsive. However, I think this is why they're considered good musicians, athletes and dancers. When you have no shame, you're willing to take much larger risks, experiment much more and generally make a fool out of yourself. And once in a while, a talented black man will discover some hidden talent, that in whites and Asians would go unnoticed because they weren't willing to take the risk and embarrass themselves.
That being said, blacks don't have the intelligence to make use of this wild trait, which is why they're relegated to entertainment and sports.

The question boils down to whether or not this is a biological trait or a societal trait. I believe it's primarily a biological trait, because most of the adopted Asians I've met here in Norway have retained many of their stereotypical Asian traits.
I did read an interesting article a while back that claimed that Asia's lack of innovation was a result of Asia relying on rice as their staple food, while Europe relied on wheat. Rice gives larger yields, but require more workers and longer work days, and rice production relies on entirely villages working together all day long to maintain the rice fields. Wheat maintains itself and requires less work and fewer farmers, which promotes a society with more individualism.
Apparently, northern China was wheat based, while southern China was rice based. Most of the Chinese innovations came from the periods when the capital was in northern China, and slowed down when it was in southern China. I don't know enough about Chinese history to know if that's true, but it was an interesting read.
White people are the biggest risk takers and thrill seekers you're able to find. Who else goes white water rafting, mountain climbing, spelunking, setting off in a boat to explore the world, etc. Not saying I disagree with your post, just adding a bit to it.

I remember seeing a study(not sure if it was bullshit) saying that although the east asian average iq is higher, white iq's are less tightly clustered around the mean. ie whites have a greater likelihood of having either an unusually low or unusually high iq. This would explain why white cultures tend to be more innovative, you have a larger pool of exceptional individuals to do the innovating. Whereas asians would tend to be be better at efficiently implementing things that are already tried and true.
