In Poland these "Jews" are mainly Poles. They are Jewish maybe from genetical and partially cultural point of view, but they claim Polish nationality during census, not Jewish. Hence officially there is practically no Jews in Poland. Pic-related: today's first page of biggest Poland's news site onet.pl. Włodek Goldkorn tells a story how his mother was teaching him to deal with Polish antisemitism: punch Poles in faces. When he lived in Poland, he was classified as a Pole, not a Jew, because his parents declared "Polish nationality" in census. Later on he emigrated to Italy where he works as a journalist.
