The one all the barbarians in Europe have been trying to ape for the past 1500 years

Goryeo

I don't know about that, drinking water from lead pipes, boy molestation and watching slave get raped and killed by animals are exclusively Roman.

>non-contiguous """empires"""

oh nonono

How could you measure the gdp of an ancient civilisation?

British
/thread

American

Rome without a doubt.

That's just calculated as modern GDP.

>boy molestation
>exclusively Roman
And lead piping was used in plumbing until 1800

It goes like this:
Roman Empire > Mongol Empire > Napoleonic French Empire > German Empire > Brit*sh Empire
The Brit*sh ""Empire"" was built on oppressing natives unable to defend themselves, whereas the rest were built on actual military victories against equals.

But how could you possibly know how much their economies were worth
I doubt they had detailed records

The glorious French empire. Too good for this world : we intentionally gave N. America to the brits because it would have been unfair, otherwise.

A lot of economics mumbo jumbo is just numbers pulled out of analysts' asses. They don't create real products, they just make estimates.

The French one

They are estimates extrapolated from more detailed records, go ask /hist/ about the exact methodology

same with populations
bit of a bullshit comparison

yeah mate the brits just waltzed into africa and america while the french and spanish watched on from the sidelines
fucking retard
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seven_Years'_War

the one that has most people we wuzzing about it.

Roman Empire > Hellenistic Empires > British Empire > Spanish Empire

Mongols were devils and unironically destroyers of civilization
Brits at least brought some infrastructure and founded great countries like the US, Canada, Australia and NZ

why are the french so naff at war?

British Empire for me

Eastern Roman Empire was kino

>Using current stats
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Roman. Why did Britain treat their colonies like shit? What's with that awful GDP?

It's based on their former territories modern numbers
Roman,just look at that GDP P C

lol the british ""empire"" was just India and Africa with some inbred bongs on top, just like modern day Britain

the core of their might

t. couldn't conquer fucking ethiopia

Attached: etiopia1.jpg (1600x1095, 338K)

lot of salty dagos in here

There's usually not big a difference between ancient empires in terms of productivity, which is between 400-500 GDP per capita (1990 dollars), so you can usually assume that this number times the population estimate is the actual GDP. Difference between regions such as Italy in the Roman Empire and Gaul are based on informed guesses based on different factors such as grain production, taxes, iron production and so forth by historians who know more than me, but are still just guesses. Numbers do get somewhat more reliable with time, but everything before modern times should be taken with a grain of salt.

It's from a video from Reallifelore
youtube.com/watch?v=pbvrncwxzxU
It isn't based on their historic gdp and population, but the current gpd and population if these empires were to somehow be reunited today, at their higher historic size
You are a cretin

mongolia's numbers sound like bullshit

If you had studied just a bit of chemistry you would know that lead pipes aren't dangerous
