Lib friend made me feel bad for choosing a electrition career. I figure it's beneficial to this country and something I'd enjoy but apparently I'll be miserable doing something uncreative. This person works at a coffee shop and is attending a community college.

Very few people are legitimately creative. Many people pretend to be.

Do what you want to do - there's nothing wrong with being an electrician. Like carpentry, it's a profession required in society and is non degenerate.

Electricians perform extremely valuable services to many industries across the country. As you gain more skills in the trade or specialize, many contracts will pay you obscene amounts. Finding people who know how to set up complicated systems is hard. Apply yourself and you will go far.

College just seems like a waste of time and $ currently. No classes offered seem somewhat interesting to me currently. Everything else I want to do I can do on my free time.
